Hey guys its Ender

I've just started working on in the past few days small craft that would be manned by 1-10 people. I just finished a fighter and a bomber but I wanna know if I'm doing anything wrong so I don't get off to a bad start. Criticism and suggestions are welcome. And I probably updated this post as I make more.

Oh and one more thing, I don't a name for them there just called fighter and bomber 1 so feel free to suggest a name as well.

I like the idea you have here... but the execution needs a little help.

#1 You can make the engine flares only come on when the ship is moving (you would do this by making them the exaust sprite for the thruster ex module).

#2 Please take your pictures at normal zoom level because it makes the sprites look streched (you can do this by hitting the "home" button before hitting "f9" to take the screenshot).

#3 On the other hand your ships themselves aren't too bad... they just need a little color (low saturation, not blairing colors like this --> fail) and proper shading.

With that and some other critique from other members I could see the ships turn out much better that what they are right now. Just remember: whatever you do just roll with the punches and improve off of criticism and you'll be fine.

What he said, and also, make sure you're in "Preview mode" (F11) before you take the screenshots. That way, there aren't any of the red or blue selection lines, the circle showing how big your ship is, etc. Just keeps everything clean.

Otherwise, very nice :).

Icy and Serithi thanks for the tips, ill try to work with the shading and the picture quality as well as learning how to make the engine flares work.

Suggestions on the names are still welcome

Nice and simple, but you still haven't grasped shading. The higher a section is, the lighter. This way it adds a realistic form of depth.

Better yes. The ship looks rather bland, you should try adding more detail into it.

Seems to me the guns would look better with each mounted on the circular parts, facing out at a 45 angle. More vulnerable that way though...

The machine guns on the side, or the two rail guns uptop?

i guess he means the railguns, although i'd say keep them forwards, but do add some sort of mount section. this looks to me like a nice, neat little artillery frigate, you could try combining the railguns into a turret

Ok im at school right now but ill try that when i get home. So add a little mount section bellow the rail guns and make them 2x2 on the ship so it creates a turret effect?

Echoing the others, please upload images of ships without zooming in or out. We're not blind; you don't have to stretch out the images because your ships are small
