gluon bolters, and the ships not terribly brilliant. you should look to try and fill in that massive whole at the rear (perhaps add a reactor) clean up the oerall shape, add some more detail and possibly doodads and use fewer section 22s, as they look particularly bad when used repetitively

it's already looking a lot better, but you should focus on the details. make it looks more interesting by adding defined sections such as weapon mounts etc. you could also work on the colour

Hey rockboy! I'm the one you insulted! :D
But let's put differences aside 'cos frankly, your shipbuilding has improved a fair bit scince you were last on the forum, your using much better interesting sectionwork and that layering of armour at the front is very well done, a tip would be to use less saturated colours and possibly vary them a bit as well, 'cos stock colours suck.

To make a long story short, good work and welcome back! :p

ED: the merged section are ok but if you REEAALY want something more custom how about you use sw or shn
please don't kill me

Your doing the same thing I used to do, spamming 22s. That said, the shape could be usable, but the back could be thickened up a bit.

Best stradegy for an infected ship is to build an uninfected ship then decide what type of infection it has. You can use doodad lines, grunge sections, or the organic parts, just to name a few ways.
