New from Titan Heavy Engineering

Let's face it, the main attraction of BSF is building your own ships. Share them! If you need help, check the Shipmaker Info & Help forum a little ways down.

Contempt

*EDIT*

Fixed up some parts of the engine. Used SM preview mode, no stretch of the screen. I'm shit for shading, tell me where you think the problem is.

Couple of problems here. Some of the sections have been strectched, which make them look blurry and unappealing. The central mass of the ship looks really cluttered, as the sections in the background don't fit together well. And the shading is inconsistent, the outer thrusters look too bright when compared too the surrounding sections.

Nothing was stretched. I don't know why the screenshot is blurred, looks fine in SB but comes out like shit when I take a shot.

Try using preview mode perhaps? Are you sure this is default zoom and that you haven't stretched the SM window at all?

In my opinion you should get rid of the holes in the center of the ship, it makes the ship look very breakable/ brittle.

Also, you should change your shading job on the ship (make the higher parts brighter than the lower parts)

Overall nice shape and good job maintaining the same style throughout the ship :)

good style nice use of sections and an awesome looking ship

It looks like the rear of the ship is a booster pack and and the front is some sort of destroyer or frigate.
I am a fan of the "Push F to fire everything" idea.

I really don't know why I'm thinking these thoughts,
but I do know they aren't mine...

Make sure SM is in Windowed, not Fullscreen, and make sure you're at default zoom. Otherwise, awesome :).

I like how the outer sections are slightly blurred, but the inner sections are perfectly clear.
It gives a great depth effect, I thinks. And since the outer/lower sections are blurred, but not stretched, IMHO it looks great.

The empty gaps do look kind odd, though, without anything inside. You could leave it "empty", but fringe the inside with the same kinda effect as produced those blurred outer sections, and it wouldn't look as weird, but that's just my two cents.
