Allright, this is my thread for all my meta 2 ships, stations, defence platforms, etc.

A pretty funky little destroyer suited to escorting larger ships and cargo convoys. Fairly lightly armed, it is pretty tough frontally and can get away if need be. In numbers it can also be used as a effective picket.

It was done so it didnt become hugely fail after a core position fix to bring it in line with meta 2 rules.

I *was* making a cruiser... but then i realised i probably could use a EW ship a bit more. so here it is. Im not sure exactly how effective the sensor package will be though, and im wondering if i should expand the ship to accomodate more sensors. The center radar dish spins. (thats the large sens array) Pity its hopeless against even a patrol boat... but hey, who said its meant to be capable in combat too? :)

A medium sized cruiser designed to be able to engage a wide range of targets with its 6 autocannons and 2 heavy missile launchers. it has strong frontal armor, but weak rear armor. it is also fast and maneuverable for its size. After combat testing, the second to rear autocannon was changed to face aft like it originally did.

It's actually pretty good, and it's not a mess like you seem to think it is. At least you didn't aegis spam and used stock sections with overly saturated colors and the ships lool liked they were made in a junkyard. ;) I would use some more detailed sections to contrast with the current ones, and maybe add some more depth and color, along with the gray, making sure its desaturated. Keep it up.

Oh, and welcome to the forums...what's left of it.

for a first post this is pretty good. my suggestion now is to start working on some slightly larger ships. nothing too big, but just big enough to add some details in, like engines and reactors. for colouring, pretty much anything will go with grey as long as it's not too bright

Just a question: can you see how your ships in-game have a white, boxy glow around it, and how the sections seem to shimmer? Do you want to keep that, or do you want to remove it?

These are some nice ships, though a bit heavy on the use of Kae_Gnr sections, they seem to look alright.

As for your poll, you'll need to post a download if you want someone to compare them in combat. If you do, I'll probably try them out.

Edit: ships are now available for download.
Go to the options screen, cycle through the colours until you reach "Glow", instead of the different team colours. Set it to black. The will remove the ugly glowy box around sections.

I took a look at your ships and found that every single one of them was mis-sized due to core placement, and when fixed, every single one is exceding its proper mass allowance.

"Don't do that" is the guideline for that issue. That kind of thing is cheating, and it's obvious cheating too. A ship's "size" should always be representative of its actual physical size.
Also, I noticed that a few of your weapons had incorrect stats, but I'm not going to pick through and find them all for you.

Please center your cores, fix your stats, and try again, if you still want to see how they fare against meta ships, that is.

Allrighty. Feel free to DL the pack, compare to other meta2 ships etc now. i have fixed all the military ships.

Personal note. next time, do it right when building to save 2 hours of work and hard decisions.

I downloaded your fixed pack and opened the Bore. I'm not going to look at the others, instead just be more meticulous with this one and hope you fix any similar problems in the others.

The engine HP values are wrong, the actual engines are all too low, or if you're using the nozzles to count as the engines (consult rules), then they're too high. You also still have four engines where your write-up says three.

The write-up still says 6 Heavy Autocannons though the port one wasn't on the ship in the shipmaker, and the starboard one had incorrect HP and damage values.

The Deviation was off on your Heavy Missile Arrays.

The HP values on your CIWS guns were only 5.

When I tally up your total used mass it comes to 19770, not 18225.

Also, your core is still off center by 1, though that doesn't affect the mass, I suspect Arc might still bite your head off for it. He seemed really strict about that particular rule.

Please don't be disheartened. I was very excited to see someone posting meta-balanced ships, and I still hope that you will fix them so I can try them out.

Allright, that bloody cruiser. it has a fettish for stuffing up, i swear. time to jump back in SM.

Status update. bore class should be fixed. now sending other ships to the interview room.
