I copied the sprites form a online game called Space Odyssey. I thought the ship looked cool, so I turned it into a BSF ship.

I could have broken it into smaller sections but I probably would have messed it up. If some one can break them up more or can make sections in this style go ahead just post a link here.

So you took a pre-existing sprite from another game, did absolutely nothing to it, then slapped it into shipmaker and called it a day?
...
I'm unsure what level of pissed off I should be at right now, but I'm leaning towards "very".

I edited the weapons

...I don't think the weapons you edited really changed what is wrong with the ship. The sprites you took from the other game look fuzzy and they don't work well with the other sections. Those sections themselves are by default
waaaaaay too dark (Read: I changed the colour of the sections on your ship to "216,216,216", to try and brighten them... and they became
darker
). And on the subject of colours and brightness, the shading was done badly.

I tried that too and this is as bright as I can get them (they were nearly black when I started). and about the fuzziness the sprite that I copied faded when I put it in .png format.

The sad part is that ship looks totally doable with existing sprites; in a few spots I can quite literally see which one would be perfect there. I would take the image you used, turn it into a bmp and place it as the background, then build over that.

But Then it would be sw or original not the style it's in now.

I think the points that everyone's trying to make is its not a BSF ship. Try playing it with any other ship you will find on this forum and see if they work visually together
Good work on your copy paste skills though top notch, excluding the colour glitch thingy...

Thanks. It works with the background and planets and it would work with other ships is some one here knew how to make sections in a similar style...

With those custom sprites you used, can I have permission to show what they look like after i edited them? I modded them using gimp to try and make them brighter, and also to desaturate them

To be honest, personally, don't get sprites off a game that doesn't use pixel style art. BSF uses pixel style art, and with the later Arrival of TSA. it still looked good, because TSA is still pixel art, although I admire your aspiration. to looks like it's lost quality, it's dark and just doesn't match Ship maker/BSF. This is why fraxy etc. looks so good in ship-maker, it just isn't anything like your sections. I recommend you don't use these sprites.

Imaillusion You can do what ever you want with them as long as you give "Space Odyssey" credit I don't know who actually made them but that's where I got them from.
Ophyzarr thank you for the advice.
