Star Kingdom of Nevaeh ships

Let's face it, the main attraction of BSF is building your own ships. Share them! If you need help, check the Shipmaker Info & Help forum a little ways down.

These are halfway decent.

The use of Kaelis' Generic Swa sections is a bit excessive; it makes the ships look a little flat and boring.

Also, your section usage is a little sloppy around the "wings" of all of your ships, like bits are just stuck on.

I hope this helps.

You have to be very careful with how you put together small ships, the parts have to flow as well as create a seamless total form. Lets look at one of horsemonster's works and compare it with yours.

You see how HM's ship works together as a consistent whole? How there is a depth to it? Notice the use of colors and layering in order to differentiate parts. Notice how yours looks quite flat and monochromatic in comparison? If I were to give you a list of things to work on it would be this

1.Making sure the ship seems uniform and has a pleasing and coherent overall shape.
2.Work with coloring, it will allow you to add depth and to draw the eye of your observers.
3. Observe the works of other builders and practice, practice, practice.

Bumping. The Thermopylae's been updated, up-armed, and given a bit of a story-description. Please review.

OK, never, never, EVER use stock sprites with SW sections.
Also, cut down on the gnr-sw!
OTT it looks good, excepting the oddly shaped engines.
I'm still alive, motherfuckers.

No flow at all, and too much Generic/Generic2.

Sorry Arc, all my better sprites went up when my old comp crashed. As did my ships, for that matter. I'll endeavor to reacquire them, but right now I'm having a large problem getting HM's sprites to load up without having to manually import them. Still have no clue what the problem is with that... eh, oh well.

As for the flow, the only flow-defeating thing I see is the muzzle of the MAC on the nose of the ship - otherwise, it looks fairly good to me. Then again, I made it, so of course it would.

Sorry for the double-post, but I've now got some great sprites... the smsprites.ini file looks good... go to boot up my SM, and the Dst-ori and HM_RocketBits don't load up. Even though the file input looks exactly as it's supposed to. Help?

Update: Added the Tunisia-class. Failing around with DST's Dst-ori sections. I think I'm going to expand on it, as it looked freaking awesome the first time I built it. And then I forgot to save it before going into BSF. What an idiot I am.

Edit: Added F4 SSF

Very nice. I like what you did with that rotating sensor array. However, the main gun at the back should probably be mived in front. It looks like it'll have to shoot through the bridge to hit anything infront.

Fixed Calvin's complaint. It's now updated. Also, I added in the Destiny-class AsCA. It's a semi-fanship...

There's this sleek feeling I get looking at the first ship (Carronade?)

I think you need to redo the blue decals, though. And the front is rather basic, poorly put together compared to the rest of the ship.
Realism, seriously? It's a space ship game. Realism was thrown out the window a long time ago.

The first one is decent, sectionwork could be improved, but its main problem is those two blue teamstripes!!! They look AWFUL. Don't use them as sections but rather to color certain parts of sections. Thats what I did with the cores I made (that you used)
naysayers will be shot

I wasn't using them as sections, actually... the second pair (the solid ones) just didn't come out right.
