Da_Dooley's ships 'n' stuff

Well... after lurking for a good while, I said "What the hell" and decided to post some of my ships. Most of them have no relation to others (though there may be an exception later on). I will not be giving any .shp's or .sb4's until I can figure out why my laptop is throwing a shitstorm of errors at me. Feel free to C&C, it will be appreciated. You can bash them all you like, but please provide a reason for the bash.

This is a venture back into the world of stock sections. I would submit it to the beauty pageant, but as I said, my lappie is giving me errors about every conceivable facet of it.
I am really proud of this one.
And yeah, the engines need work.

I probably overdid the blue glow... but I'm real proud of this one.

I am NOT proud of this one. Frankly, I think it's a piece of crap, but I needed to finish up the primary color triumvirate.

Going to be experimenting with Vidboi's Sprites!
More to come, hopefully!

Some colour variation on your ship would be nice. And I'd welcome more entries into the BSF Beauty Pageant cos' I wanna judge them
But then maybe a less grey-ish colour scheme that would fit the glow more?

Other than that, pretty clean a ship. And the front could use some beefing, of course. SWA would render loads of improvements, too.

I like it! The glows work really well with the stock sections so I dunno whether it will be better with SW sprites.

CONTENT BUMP

From here on out, all new ships will be in the first post unless I dictate otherwise.

I've gotta say, I'm rather... intensely underwhelmed by both of these, so far. :|

Ah, the defining comment from Anna.

Well, at least you didnt say it was a fucking piece of fucking shit that fucking needs to be fucking burned in a fucking fire. That boosts my self-esteem a little.

Do you have any suggestions?

hurrr... i mean good luck, i never really intended my sprites to be "used", they were just a one off at first. but hopefully you can buck the trend and make something nice with them

the stock ships are alright, i'd say they need some more colour (other than the glows), and i find that darker colours than normally used on sw sections work better on stock

Hmm nothing outrightly wrong with these for stock ships; they are just rather plain. I think alot of that has to do with the single color used on each as far as glows, as well as the large sprites which tend to make the ship go downhill. Making bigger shapes using smaller sprites is almost always better if you can. Great thing about stock is that they blend together easier cuz you don't have to worry about pre-made shading, so you can make an entire engine block for example out of a dozen pieces and if you shade them the same and line up the pieces it will look like one component. Good luck.

Damn, it's been like... 3 months...

Well, time to bring some life back into here, and prove that I haven't given up on BSF.

Also, contrary to my previous statement, all new ships will be posted progressively. It's easier that way.

These are some ships I made during my brief obsession with Russia ('cos Russia's boss). They are all currently unnamed.

That third ship you just posted hit the nail the most for me. It has the impression of armor plating hiding delicate bits underneath. The engine looks a bit weird and the team colors of blue and red stand out a bit too much (lower saturation, maybe?) but other else than that, not bad.

I also like those electric-y spikes you got there. Extremely sexy.
