I'm not a fan of the ship with the green tipped wings, it seemed like a rushed build. You should try to fill in those gaps that the ship has, it will look more "full bodied" and refined

That last ship though, is a lot better. It's got this ruggered look that I like, even if the section placement and depthing is a bit messy. You could probaly fill in the gap in the middle but that's just a minor modification

to be honest neither am i and it was a very rushed build.

right well as much as i disliked my green winged ship i thought the general design needed justice and created this.
P.S. im not going to be active for a while as i try and sort out the problems ive been having with sprites.

I quite like the shape of this ship. And if you give some of the outer sections more depth by shading them a bit more, it will look even better

Newest ship: I would use fraxy sprites for exhaust. I like the overall shape and concept but the internal details have zero flow.

I like this one better. I love the wings. Engines look like they could fall off any minute though. lol

i completley agree the big blocks of green need to be smoothed out a bit. and the first ship with the floppy engines was originally more of a luxury transport but i might make a battle variant, not sure of the purpose of the second ship though. I never really meant to develop any of these ships they were just the result of my untamed creativity being released and screwing with the sw sprites, but now im going to start building a purpose built fleet with a proper backstory.

The new fleet of the Earth Alliance! (overused name i know but originality is a dying art)

Earth finally united under one banner in response to a threat beyond the small blue planets atmosphere, it is uneasy alliance and there are multiple human separatist movements, however the 7 major nations of earth are all part of the alliance and so are approximately 73% of the human population. This has made the EA a major force in the Solar system and since the colonisation of Mars, given them massive resources.
The Earth Alliance are at war with an Alien race known as the Scourge, a viscous warrior race who objected to the arrival of an unmanned NASA probe landing on their planet (or so the government's propaganda would have humans believe). The true origins of the war have been lost in the depths of time, but since the complete destruction of moon base1 the Earth Alliance has had a standing navy combining all the technology of the seven great nations. These ships are feared throughout the galaxy for their toughness reliability and awesome fire power, as well as the dogged determination of their patriotic crews.

Nice ships, i wish i could build ones as good as those. But anyway, aren't those fighters and bombers a little too big?

Thanks! theirs still a lot to improve in them and their not particularly exotic but Im quite pleased with them for now.
and
yeah I made them that big so they can be seen easily when i put them on my thread in reality they are alot smaller.

1st ship:
There was some interesting smoothness that covered the front half of the ship, but was sharply lost at the engine sprites in the back. The ridges on the front are repetitive, and not in a good way. There's a good base to be salvaged here and built upon.

2nd ship:
Far, far, far too saturated and dark. There's some depthing confusion around the rear engine casings, first ones from the center. I can't make out much on it to give more critique.

3rd ship:
Small, neat, some flow around the nose. The topmost gnr_sw piece seems out of place... supplement it with other sprites? The two holes/dark patches behind the same sprite seems out of place. Intresting engines, reminds me of Podracers from Star Wars, with the exposed engine, intakes and all

. The back most fins on the engines seem out of place, as if they were attached to the exhaust.

4th ship:
I like the shape and the nose, but the contrasting styles of the green and white sprites hit me. The white "bordering" triangles on the main body create some depth confusion, and seem to cut into the ship itself.

5th ship:
Similar problems with the 1st. Ridges seem to look worse now

6th ship:
Seems too flat in the front, then gradually moves to cluttered to the back. Not much to say.

7th ship:
Simialr to the 6th ship, the blue containers don't seem "containerish" mostly due to the ragged outer edge.

8th ship:
Saturation way, way too high. I can't see anything.

First of all thank you for your comments soooooooooooooo helpful, and i enjoyed a little bit of praise:)

but its your constructive criticism that was useful and i have improved some of my ships according to your recommendations
also i think my lappie screen is set too bright compared to other people on the forum and that's why my ships look so dark because i can see them really clearly, but hey i will try and change that. By the way just looked at your ships and they are very impressive, great stuff.

diggin the green alien thing, and the rebel hawk is just bombdiggity. the rebel condor, not so much. meh on the freighter, but i do like the look of the containers

The front part of the third ship looks kinda flat, in that you've got this nice slating shape from the mid-back area, and it holds the shape as we go forward, forward... then it is is cut off at the front

With the forth ship, the wings are a bit thin, and the exhaust thrusters are a bit wimpy. Beef up both of them

thank you both for your comments very useful, im starting to hate the condor so i might drop it or just work on it when i can be arsed, i made another version of the hawk called the joyrider (its a civvy ship) and ive made loads of other ships, im just trying to find my style and find out which of my ships people like then i can concentrate on one design for a longer period of time and add more doodads etc. keep the c&c coming!

by the way is it possible to rename a thread?

p.s. there's more some better ones than these but along the same vein i will see what reactions these get first.
