Random acts of violence with Shipmaker

Thanks, I appreciate that, though I sincerely doubt it. It wasn't nearly finished, but my computer decided to crap out on me so I may have lost two years of ships  I'll have to take it apart tomorrow and see what i can see, which will either be followed by loud cheering and fornicating in the streets or chucking it out my window. Thankfully I had a few saved on a thumbdrive, though their not anywhere near what I wanted them to be. Was trying the 'realistic' style which I haven't touched before, mostly to have a fleet match with the station.

A barely started depot ship. Would have had mech arms welding a damaged ship.

Corvette

Frigate, likely a cap killer.(hey I'd just finished watching Blake's 7 'Terminal', can ya blame me?)
Image
Carrier. A bit unwieldy for the style I know. Didn't get a chance to add glows for the bays.
Image
Destroyer. Only 2 of the particle beams as opposed to the 3 of the frigate, but more armament of other types.
Image
The ship itself is ridiculous for the section style but this time I was watching crusade and I've always wanted to try that deathstar beam.
Image
May or may not bother reinstalling at this point. Maybe to release a bunch of the downloads I promised but never did.

Nice job. I really like the carrier concept. It's been executed pretty well too.

Any trekkies in the house? Been awhile since I tried a Starfleet ship but there were a lot of ideas I wanted to try out. Nacelles and impulse drives are both STO style, ie: contrails. Phasers are pulsed as in the original series but placed in batteries along with the point defense in the JJ style. Shield is reactive, ie: its invisible but flares when hit. Ship is equipped with tractor beam for removing meteors and pesky enemy craft. Its waiting on a jump engine before being released. What do ya think?

Ding! 10,000 views  Hmm, guess you bastards are all star wars fans huh? Well too bad! If there was any doubt that I have too much time on my hands, this otta dispel it. These are about a third of the in progress or planned ships, mostly just wanted to release the original series ones. And yes, a homage to my slight I assure you obsession with the Liberator as well.
U.S.S. Kelvin: boring, but then the ship kinda is as well.
Image
U.S.S. Yorktown: I made a shot at the enterprise then realized the classic connie was much more frail looking.
Image
D-7 Klingon bird of prey: Still wanna do something more with the bridge, but again, a pretty fragile ship.
Image
Liberator: Avon you bastard!
Image
Romulan Bird of Prey: Don't worry, I fully intend to have phoenix wings on there!
Image
U.S.S. Akira: I really think I captured the unique shape of the Akira, though something is off still, likely the nacelles.
Image
U.S.S. Defiant: Ya had to throw this in with the early release. Its not exactly accurate but wanted the size more than detail.
Image
Enterprise?: Possibly the refit version, dunno. I really need to make custom nacelles.
Image
U.S.S. Kestril: A kitbash.
Image
All will have functional shields, some window lights detail, and likely better nacelles. Also some decals if I'm feeling frisky.

:( Numerous updates, fixes, and cosmetic additions to all ships. Not gonna post that yet. Two new ships; only the first is pretty much done.
U.S.S. Saber: I think this is some sort of escort class
Image
U.S.S. Sovereign: My interpetation of anyway. Yayz for pertier nacelles!
Image
I'm gonna be mad busy today so no more updates for you to ignore till tomorrow.

I'd argue that's not a sovereign but it's still actually a rather good post-dominion war federation ship I think. The blue part of the nacelle is too dark though. I want more PDW ships.

Edit- For that matter, so is the red part of the nacelles too.

Ya I agree its not that accurate to the sovereign, too streamlined I think. I'm working on some custom hull pieces to get the shape of the saucer right but thats taking awhile. In the meantime, tried something with the nacelles. Is that better?
Image
I'm not too familiar with the newer ships. So far I've got a borg vessel, the Scimitar, romulan Valdore class warbird, Wells time ship, possibly voyager, and the klingon Vor'cha attack cruiser. Thats all I can think of besides maybe the Enterprise J but never liked what I saw of it. Any requests/suggestions?

Look up the Akira, Luna, Steamrunner, and Prometheus class.

Also the saucer was better the way it was, I'm suggesting you don't make a duplicate of the sovereign but rather name your ship as it's own class because it was cool with the 4 impulse engines from earlier. The engines are fine now though.

Heh ok saucer is restored to original configuration and re classed as Kestrel. For the more modern ships, should I try to do phaser strips, or go with turreted emitters JJ style?
I will start work on the Prometheus after I finish the custom nacelles and such for the other ships. I'd forgotten about the steamrunner; made me think back to ST Armada days. Anyway, heres a rough attempt at it. Please do point out any inaccuracies because some of the shots I find are less accurate than others. Also I obviously took some liberties.

Fuck the inaccuracies, that looks better then the original, keep it that way.

Also I say phaser strips rather then turrets from the JJ movie.

Edit: Also the Kestrel's missing escape pods.

Yes mam! Well not exactly the right shape but can't remember where the right sprite is so it gets oval. I've got ten ships just about ready to release; just trying to balance weapons and shields to eachother. This batch will probably have weapons that are too weak and shields that are too strong, but that will be ironed out later. The Romulan warbird from Nemesis is about a third of the way done. Really happy with the main body but that feathered wing effect on it and the scimitar is a bitch to replicate.
Image
The next batch will probably include a few older ships from TOS and next generation to round out those sets, then I'll move on to the newer ones. The borg cube is going to take days, though the small portion I've started on promises awesomeness.

I'm liking what I see here. Small, playable fanships and dang, they look good too. If you haven't found what's off on the Akira yet, I think it's the nacelle struts. On the Akira, those are swept back and widen slightly towards the nacelles. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

Ya your ST fleet was a big inspiration. I think I got the Akira a bit closer to being accurate, though the sprites I used aren't exactly the right shapes. I'll try to find better ones but I kinda like the struts now and I don't have the variety of sprites I used to. Main thing is I need better nacelles for most of the ships.
