United Systems of the Milky Way UPDATE 7/23/09

by Corporal Jomn
<s>Hi! I have been lurking for an fairly long time (since 2006), and I've made several fleets. The first two, really bad. The ones now, better. All my ships are pretty close to stock ones, so they aren't that big compared to some here. Enough about me, here are the ships of the USMW!</s>

Okay folks, here's the update I told you all about. Revised everything. Here they are!

_____________________________________________________________
2099: The human race finally goes into space with fusion engines, also launching the first human warships in space.
2124: The Terran Federation is founded, with the Hestia Strike Destroyer and the Zelus Corvette. The jumpgates are being built between the systems, allowing faster travel to other systems.
2139: The first contact with ETs, the Fetrenians, in the Orion system. They are accepted into the Terran Federation.
2167: The Terran Federation grows to 55 planets and six species.
2170: The first war is ignited with the Nanz, it a bloody and relentless war.
2190: The Terran-Nanz ends, the invention of warpgates to other galaxies allows the travel from the Milky Way to the Andromeda Galaxy.
2201: The invention of ion engines allows faster travel in jumpspace and warpspace.
2216: The Terran Federation changes to the United Systems of the Milky Way (USMW), while the colonies in the Andromeda Galaxy declare their independence and unite to form the Confederate Planets of Andromeda (CPA). The two governments form an aliance.
2240: A conjoined effort by terrorists destroys the two warpgates connecting the two galaxies.
2259: The USMW commissions several new ship designs, further expanding their naval might.
2276: The warpgates are finally fixed, allowing communication and travel between both galaxies. However, for some reason, a military dictator has taken control of the previously democratic government. The USMW declares war on the CPA.

Main Ships

Lopen Medium Cruiser
Image

A bit outdated, the Lopen Cruiser is flexible, yet, dependable. It forms the mainstray of the USMW Fleets. Its narrow frontal profile and deflector shields make it good frontal attacker.
Armor: 500
Speed: 2.30-10
Crew: 20

Crusader Medium Assault Cruiser
Image

A pretty durable ship, the Crusader can take on tougher ships then the Lopen can. With a total of four autocannons, it can deal a considerable amount of firepower.
Armor: 375
Speed: 2.25-10
Crew: 20

Patrenate Carrier
Image

The Patrenate Carrier launches F-54 Vulture Fighters from its frontal hanger bay. It boasts four T-27 tracking missiles and two T-43 tracking minimissiles.
Armor: 700
Speed: 1.88-5
Crew: 80 (minus Vuture pilots)

Tokockel Battleship
Image

The Tokockel can deliver a barrage of firepower, while holding up against one aswell. It is unfortunately hindered by slow speed. It has three turrets each sporting one 80mm gun each. Two flare guns allow its other weapons to bypass PD weapons.
Armor: 900
Speed: 1.75-5
Crew: 100

Flagships

Classified

Stations

Image

A United Systems Battle Station is armed to the teeth. Sporting two gatling blasters and a vulcan cannon, a Battle Station will destroy any unprepared enemy ship. They protect USMW systems from enemy attack.
Armor: 800
Crew: 50

United Systems Police Force

Wasp Police Cutter
Image

Designed to chase down criminals, the Wasp is a common choice for new officers. They are usually the first to respond to any case.
Armor: 300
Speed: 2.60-25
Crew: 5

Hornet Police Destroyer
Image

The Hornet can deliver fleet-level force to the police. Sporting a three-barreled railgun and ionized plasma charges that deal more damage then regular plasma charges.

Welcome to the forums!

Your ships are decent shapes and colors. I actually like the fact that someone is actually making stock ships now. :) I think your ships are slightly over-armed. Otherwise these are good ships.

You sir, are excellent.

The ships are good, especially for a first post. I might recommend for next time that you focus on fewer, larger ships with more detail work that many smaller ships.
The bigger the ship, the more you can show off your abilities.

@25000st
Thank you! :D But could you please specify which ones are over armed (except the Tokockel). I feel most of the ships are okay.
@Slayer0019
These were made for a game with my friends, so I gave them alot of choices for ships. In fact, these ships are the ones left over from when I thinned down my ship roster.
Here's some more:

Major Josh's Flagship
Image

*Note: This was created in honor of my little brother.

Major Josh commissioned this ship and oversaw the construction himself. It has special deflectors that permanently shield the frontal sections. This is where he commands the marines. A heavy cruiser, it is able to hold up against a Trident Battlecruiser.
Armor: 500
Speed: 2.05-10

Admiral Zayor Dell's Flagship
Image

Zayor Dell commissioned this battleship to use the latest technology against the CPA. Heavy armor keeps the ship together under fire while deflectors shield the sections under fire.
Armor: 1000
Speed: 1.85-5

Admiral Gregory Choren's Flagship
Image

Based off the hull of an old flagship, Gregory Choren commands the 2nd Fleet from this heavy cruiser.
Armor: 800
Speed: 2.10-5

Admiral Taylor Reggs' Flagship
Image

Taylor Reggs used two experimental modules to slow down enemy projectiles until they exploded before they reached his carrier.
Armor: 900
Speed: 1.80-5

Remember that not everyone wants to make works of art. Some people just want to play a strategy game.

Well, if you think about it, your ships would completely over power the original stock ships. If you think they are ok though, that is fine. It depends on your definition of "over-armed".

Well you got me there. :| Don't worry Slayer, some of my later ships have more beef to them. However I wonder who voted no to my poll.

Ignore slayer, you don't have to make bigger ships if you don't want too. Hell bigger ships are pretty unplayable these days anyway. Frame rate? Nonexistant.

These are good ships, but the only problem i have is with the front end of the Patrenate, as it looks like it could do with some work on it.

Yeah, I agree that the front parts are stretched. Oh well. I'll fix that later when I feel like it. I'll post the CPA's ships tommorrow, oh and bump.

The only reason I suggest bigger ships is that this guy is clearly capable of some really good section usage is some places. On a larger ship, he can better frame it.

Like where? Please specify where on which ship (or ships). Thanks. :)

The front end of the Cheftan, directly above and below the core of the Lopen, and the wing-like side parts of Zayor Dell's flagship stood out to me. They just work.

New ships/stations:

Battle Station
Image

A United Systems Battle Station is armed to the teeth. Sporting two Vulcan Cannons and a Flash Bolter, a Battle Station will destroy any unprepared enemy ship.
Armor: 500

Defence Platform D-324
Image

A small defence platform, it was only made to protect Habitat Stations from pirates. Under an actual firefight, it would be immediatly destroyed.
Armor: 200

Repair Station
Image

Designed to repair damaged ships, it is only thinly defended.
Armor: 300

Wasp Police Cutter
Image

Designed to chase down criminals, the wasp is a common choice for new officers.
Armor: 225
Speed: 5.00-15

Ristia Police Destroyer
Image

*Note: Based off something ArcaneDude made.

Made on the hull of a Hestia, it was designed to bring fleet-level firepower for the USPF. Only commanded by veterans, it is sometimes seen in small skirmishes working with the fleet. It sports a EMP gun to disable weapons and modules.
Armor: 275
Speed: 2.30-6

Ronz Rapid Response Ship
Image

Usually the first to arrive on a call the Ronz usually holds off any pirates until backup arrives.
Armor: 250
Speed: 3.50-5

Police Station
Image

The base of operations in every major system, a US Police Station can defend itself from any Proxima Warlord attack.
Armor: 500

If you've been lurking since 2006, which is a goddamn long time, you haven't been doing a very good job. The ships are shoddily constructed in some instances, with weapons dangling and parts overlapping where they shouldn't. The shapes are very stock, and somehow just posting a modified Hestia SEVERAL TIMES makes me get the greebles by principle. There is little to no originality in these ships, no creativity and some of them are just plain bad. The others? Well, the others are just plain generic.

Try to put some time into a single design, large or small doesn't matter. In fact I recommend small since I don't think you could pull off a large ship. Go for your own building style, your own shapes and concepts, etcetera. That's my advice.
