you should mirror some of your ships so that it will look nicer. quite a proper fleet though...

They look pretty reasonable,up until you get to some of the larger ships, then it just becomes spammy.

Please, lighten up on the weapons and experiment with a few modded versions, the style is good, but the big guys are getting bogged down by weapons payload.

Asymmetry is ok (ignore blackrider), stock colors are not. You'll get it down soon. Still a good start!

Asymmetry goddamnit, do you know it?!

~~

I like the asymmetry on these ships. It really spruces up the time-tested penisbrick archetype, though that's not to say that the general shape of the near-symmetrical Avalon isn't good. They should look nice when colored properly (you are going to color them properly, right?)

The weapon spam on some of these ships is horrendous, though. It would be best to remove at least half of those weapons. I can see what kind of detail you're trying to pull with those deflectors, though. You might be better off doing that kind of thing with doodads.

Should be obvious that these ships are fine examples of proper section usage. You should probably try to use more of the new sections and expand your horizons, though.

Like how you mixed up asymmetric ships to the symmetrical ships. Some of the ships were too blocky from my opinion. Please reduce weapon spamage and color the weapons, white stands out too much. Stock green is boring your going to change it right?. Overall okay for a newb

FYI you used Avalon twice - once for the carrier and again for the flagship.

Do ignore blackrider, he's just a resident Troll Necromancer.

I love the assymmetry, though the stock green and weapon spam ruins it, IMHO... Still, they're quite decent, and only require some light clean-up. The flagship should either be symmetrical or assymmetrical, though, not a 1-section change... Seems like you put less work in that flagship...

Overall, needs a bit of work, but the basics are lovely.

Ok...

so first yes, i will be changing the stock green coloring, i just havent decided on a color scheme yet.

secondly they're no the best looking because i didnt discover that there where more sections pieces until recently and i was almost done with it.

also, Thank You Arcalane, the Flagship is actually supposed to be called the Albion, i guess i was just really tired when i posted, thanks for pointing that out.

in regards to the asymmetrical nature of the ships i think it give them a more "Terran" feel. Perhaps they're design is Earth based? *hmmmm i think i feel the beginnings of a backround story*

And I took the advice about the Flagship and its back in Space dock getting a retrofit with some new sections and will be more asymmetric to round off the coherency of the rest of the fleet.

if you guys have any color suggestions let me know!
Thanks for all the great feedback! many Ships more to come!

Ok so i removed alot of the weapons off of the Dreadnaught, and also threw in a bit of coloring (not set if that will be the color scheme or not yet).

Here she is:

Also here is another Planetary Defense Platform

And this one is a Defense Station i was working on.... was playing around with diff ways of producing shielding effects. let me know what you think.

(And yes, i know. it is still stock green, lol that will change in the future.)

Despite removing some weapons, i continue to think that the dreadnought is still clusterfucked with weapons. Same goes for the Planetary Defense Platform.
Take more weapons off and mod the remaining ones.

Some of the asymmetry looks absolutely forced and unnatural, due to some of the parts you used. The nose asymmetry on everything but the dreadnought looks like crap, and needs different pieces. Also, the asymmetry is bad in some cases. No mirroring is fine, but placing a WING thruster on 1/2 the ship (which was already larger) makes you look like you forgot the other half. A ship should still look like it could fly a straight line.

Nearly every ship has weapon spam. Even the little guys. WAY too many weapons. I'd delete at least 1/2 the weapons on every ship, and integrate their colors, or cover them up.

Your new colors are flat, and need to be rethought.

Aww, ninja'd with the colorscheme :P

Though I disagree, Krishach, I think the assymmetry is mostly well done and weapon recolors tend to look bad in most cases... Covering some would work, though...

But definetely still weapon sopammy... Editing the weapons is a better idea.

Its the other part of "mostly" that I'm talking about

Because certainly you want to fly in circles too.... It looks like an engine, and with no thrusters to be seen to show any thoughts otherwise, the impression is that you forgot something. I don't care about it being symmetrical or not, but "functional" is the issue here.

Kris, I believe that's supposed to be a bridge-type structure, or at least it resembles the placement as seen on modern carriers. If it is meant to be an engine, it I can see your point.

Overall, the ships have great section usage, though as mentioned I see a lot of stock parts proportional to how many parts you now have to choose from.
The stock green has to go, and I think you could get the same effect by using weapons with increased burst and rather than having enormous amounts of them.
You may want to reconsider how many deflectors these ships have.
