The colour scheme and the glows work great. And I love the subtle glow/highlights!

Re: New thread for the new year.
The highlighting's a technique that I think might become more or less standard sometime in the near future, STARSTRUCK invented it a long while ago but it didn't catch on then, but lately I've seen a few people make use of it, namely Anna, and I figured I'd try to incorporate it in a way that gives better depth and contrast to a color scheme.
Also, for the faction I have spinning in my mind now, I've decided I'm going to make several custom versions of every ship, basing my idea on feudal japan's ronin travelling around trying to perfect their swordsmanship and becoming the best swordsman around.
Therefore, here are my first two custom versions of the Eveningstar cruiser.
Eveningstar-class, 'Kokoro no Junbi' custom.

Eveningstar-class, 'Yama no Kage' custom.

The little banners are of course custom sprites i tossed together, as of right now they're actually sections because they don't look right as additive doodads, but after I spruce them up later I'll make them doodads.

These are nice. The four black shapes on the pink ship stand out though.

I had a direction when I started with this, but I lost it somewhere along the line to sleep deprivation.

Think I'm gonna try rehashing a lot of it tomorrow, but for now this is my Gerechteritter-class.

Did some reworking. Still not living up to the vision, but I don't think I can be bothered to pull my hair out over it anymore.

Re: New thread for the new year.
The rear wings look a little jumbled. Otherwise, it's fantastic.

Re: New thread for the new year.
Considering the size of the massive ship, would I suggest removing those 4 rear engines, and replacing them with a large main one?
That's just me, though.

I count 12 medium sized engines, they're on the wings.

Re: New thread for the new year.

Built something small just to stay in shape, nothing groundbreaking but i like how the dark-light-color balance worked out.
