4th out of seven, with Anna at the top? I'd say not bad, although I really shouldn't build the entire thing in one sit-down.

Alchemy Round 2: Just Kill Everything

It's time for Round 2. Let's get to work on your next submissions, shall we?

Image
fig. 2: Exploded view of a Mauser C96 pistol. Completely irrelevant! ...or is it?

Your task here is simply to create a weapon-ship. Not just any weapon: the largest, most complex weapon you can build.

It can be a mobile weaponship, or a stationary cannon. It can be an energy weapon or a solid weapon. It can be the only weapon on the ship, or it can have a few smaller batteries to guard it. Either way, the ship's main gun must be the focus of the ship.

You will need to use triggers to string up the reloading, firing and/or recoil animations for your weapons. Any little moving detail is appreciated, so long as it seems functional.

Don't forget about the projectile itself! Cool bullet effects will definitely net you a better ranking here!

Some ideas:
  • Give it an open magazine that loses a bullet with every shot!
  • Give it a recoil slide for reloading itself! Make it eject spent cases!
  • Give it a targeting laser!
  • If it's an energy weapon, give it a charging animation!
Once again, please send your submissions by PM. Just in case it wasn't obvious, you need to include a download.

I understand this is a dodgy task, and as such, the deadline time for this round is twice as long as the last one's. (See you on May 29th)

Good luck, and have fun.

Wow, didn't expect that kind of result from my ship! Thanks Starstruck!

I will attempt this next one, however I myself don't expect much from me...

I told you the pogostick is a dangerous thing...The toy, not the polish sex position, though if thats how you broke your foot, kudos!
My ship/weapon is complete, but I'm trying to figure out how to get the triggers working. It will be in your box, working or not, by the 26th.

One thing, I learned (or didn't learn to prevent) from this year is that I LOVE to procrastinate.
I'm going to *hopefully* have the structure/ship done this weekend.
