This is in space!
The size of the thrusters don't matter.
It could have four 1x2 inch thrusters and still stop faster and more easily than with the current design.
If the ship has to turn around to stop then it is much harder.
What if you are off by fifteen degrees when you fire your engine?
I mean really come on,do real ships do that?
"No?"
Then there you go.

@jwa8402:yes they do work

My two cents

Nasa hasn't figured out how to stop properly yet
Perhaps leave it at those thrusters being used to turn the ship around(watch out for space friction!) in order to use the main engines such as Horsemonster says. Although the implication in some of those articles is that it would make more sense to have the engine in the centermass of the ship with the ability to route the thrust in multiple directions.

@Arcalane: I absolutely love the article on the old space movie where they have to push the crashed fighter off the runway so theres enough room for other ships to land.

If the ship is designed like a real ship it should only use it's thrusters for moving and not the main engine.
The main engine is made for getting you into space in the first place.
And for short bursts(a.k.a burns) to get going fast.
If they wanted to slow down they had to use their retros, powerfull rockets(or thrusters)use to normally slow the ship for reentry.
But they could easily be used for the purpose of stoping or slowing the craft.

You know it would be cool if the ship first starts off folded up then you use the , key to open them.

You know, I have this strong urge to give you a rocket engine and throw you into space and see if you can come to a complete stop anytime soon. Now, that's not going to happen, but it would be nice if you stopped derailing HM's thread, I doubt he appreciates it much. :|

thenoobiebuilder, if you keep derailing this thread, you will receive a warning. If you want to start an argument debate about the physics of space travel and get proven absolutely wrong, start your own thread in the Etcetera board.

In the future every nation will have spaceships.

Also in the future, HorseMonster will be tasked with designing them.
That looks awesome, can't wait for more of your new ships to be done and shown off.
I don't think I can find any real flaws in it.
Good work like always.

I like these better than your first ships in this style actually, there is something scary about how good you are with making sprites and pushing them together.

I like your ships a lot Horsemonster, just the sprite style, the way they're put together and the everything else really appeals to me. Can't wait for more and a release of your newer sprites.

A support ship. Because those other, larger spacecraft aren't going to assemble themselves and a space station only has so many hands.

The idea is that the components of a ship are delivered to orbit by a lifting vehicle where a support ship retrieves them and brings them to a station where they are assembled by EVA crews assisted by the station's robotic arms. If the station is assembling a very large ship, support ships can dock with the station and their own EVA crews and robotic arms can provide further assistance.
