Not my favorite group or combination of sprites but very interesting designs overall.

as jwa said, the designs are interesting, and it's always good to see new forum members posting!

i like the first ship quite a lot. the engines and rear section are very nicely done. something bugs me about the overall shape though, but i'm not quite sure what it is =/ the second and third ones just look a bit too spindly, and i think adding more pronounced engines too them like on the first would make them look a little more built up without losing the overall look. you also miht want to look at using doodads, glows and colouring to add to the appearance of the ships

Look again, vidboi. The second one is clearly the first one with some use of moving/rotating sections.

They're all rather flat and bland though. Too much plain white.

Good point, I should have noticed that earlier... But yeah, the flat, white, blandness is the main negative point with these ships, and they could do with a mixture of recolouration and added detail, such as more functional looking parts like engines and reactors

Gave the shiny sprites a try. Input?

(Oh, and I updated the OP with a redone version of one of those ships. C&C on that too please.)

So, I made something else with the shiny sprites.

On another note, I really do need constructive criticism. I know my ships aren't as good as they could be, and I want to get better.

these ships are quite good, but i really feel that they need more detail to break up the large flat areas

I thought shiny sprites were better for large flat areas :|
While too many flat areas are, yes, a bad thing, I though shiny sprites lessened the need to fill in details. I think it looks pretty nice already.
