Let's face it, the main attraction of BSF is building your own ships. Share them! If you need help, check the Shipmaker Info & Help forum a little ways down.
well the mbt is actually pretty nifty but rather simple so I'd say add stuff like the treads using maybe some steamright gears? Don't know how awful those would look next to HM sprites... The other one isn't so good though for the fact its not shaded, appears to be stretched, and has that weird little glowy part(the Kae_sml piece). I forget who, but someone did some wicked tanks not too long ago, so go find those for inspiration.
I'm not particularly seeing how a large, stretched up HM section with another couple of HM sections on it and a pair of guns constitutes anything vaguely "nifty". Or even vaguely good.
In the match, the artillery won when at long or medium ranges and lost at short range.
The reason it won is it could move out of the way of the shots in time.
I have a video ready but its WAYYYYY to large(around 64MB) to upload

I didn't say the tank was nifty, good, or even above average!
The stupid thing was my first working ship with drivers!
Now the artillery on the other hand, for a ship that came from my hands it actually looks ok.
And the weird transparent piece is so you can see the reload action.
I want to make it so if the ammo unit on the side is destroyed the gun won't fire.
Anyone know how?

I am a fan of the "Push F to fire everything" idea.
I really don't know why I'm thinking these thoughts,
but I do know they aren't mine...

That's because Arcalane wasn't responding to you, he was responding to jwa8402. If you'd bothered to actually pay attention you would have noticed that.
And 64mb isn't "too large to upload"... not unless you have really slow internets.

That's what YouTube is for, you realise. Uploading videos.

If I had to guess, make the ammo piece another (non-firing)weapon that the main gun is linked to, and have the main gun offline or whatever the setting is so it won't fire unless its made to. There is even, I believe, a little gif of shells being expelled that can be attached to weapons and which would work perfectly for what your talking about.
And no, the artillery is crap. The mbt has the single redeaming value of vaguelly resembling a tank. The Artillery is a block of poorly chosen dark sections with no features resembling such a vehicle, such as treads. You could even have little support legs that extend when the artillery is about to fire, like the real thing does. The 'gun' is another dark section, instead of one of the beautiful guns ready and waiting for you, and it has no mount. The thing looks like the only tank you ever saw was on cybersled or something.
Instead, see this: http://images.elfwood.com/art/k/e/kent/ ... k_safe.jpg

Now that's not true. Practise, m'boy, and if it's good, you'll hear it.
The artillery is... BAD...The tank... It's nothing fancy, but I find it cute, at least... It has some nice features, and if I were you, I'd work with that.
Simple, but you can see it's a tank. It's not the best rendition of a tank, but it's certainly a nice 'n simple one. So scrap the arty, work with the tank is what I say.

So....what do you have in mind then?
I had built the arty in the hope of learning how to use the triggers so maybe I can use that to work on my other ships.
But to do so I need someone to tell me some kind of general direction to head in or I will end up with some horrible looking machine that works beautifully well.
and you know if anyone needs a backstory or something I could really help with that or just some general ideas.
I can't USE the ideas myself as they are too advanced for BSF
And now for something completly unrelated!
(I know it looks like I got ADHD and quite frankly I don't care!)
Here is this stupid fighter im making that will be able to transform
here is what mode 2 will look like
Now this question is for Anna but anyone can answer it
How do you animate the joins on the arms and legs(not shown)????
Once I got this figured out I will make the other modes
(because mode 3 NEEDS the working joins as its a battle robot a la Robotech)
So it's practically Starscream? In terms of Mechs i'm fairly picky so i'll get right down to it. The arms look weird, VERY weird. The weapons on them are distorted and distract me. And the things that come out of the head(?) suffer from extremely bad stretching. Also the back wing segments are offset and do quite annoy me. However, that section at the back is extremely well place and just makes me happy...I have no idea why.
In all honesty I think you should practice your sectionwork before you start getting into triggers and whatnot.
Its starscream piloted by a human with 3 forms not 2.
and a LOT of missiles and general overkill
Now as I don't think I can make mode 3 as an option in current versions of BSF I plan only to make Fighter mode (mode 1) and guardian mode (mode 2, current form)
Now back to the matter at hand I still need to find out how to animate arms
and to make the legs move back while moving forward.
You see the legs are the jet engines and are the only thing making this thing fly
so to move forward the legs MUST move back.
now right now the plane's arms and legs DO NOT move so it has NO firing angle abilty.
So again I need to ask how in this world do I animate the arms and legs?
