You have to remember that these are the available forces of the whole Novian sector.

But maybe I could split 2 'Eternity' dreadnoughts for 15 'Sanguine' medium frigates.

Just to clarify, where are my ships atm? It would make sense if they were all spread out since this is the home sector. :P

Also, am I aloud to have 10 'Purge' mines over each system?

Thats the thing. At your first turn, you decide where your ships are.... (o. o ) no??

And well.. I don't know how your mines are, but.. I guess you can have those. Would make sense.

Turn 2: Beachead
Spoiler!
Ratai forces entered to system Lak'tar virtually without resitance. No Novian warships were on sight and all that could be called defence, was minor minefield set near the jump point. One unfortunate Teus class destroyer went too close to the field and was damaged, but no casualities was sustained and the supply ship could easily field repair the destroyer.

Lak'tar seemed minor system and obviously had little importance for Novians. Otherwise the resitance would had been more fierce - even if it would had been hopeless. Ratai found no Novian stations or installations to bombard, but they did deploy some minefields to the ore rich asteroid fields as nasty surprise waiting for possible Novian miners that might some day return to the system way after Ratai had left.

Admiral Kiroi's had his objectives and now he had beachead. Lak'tar would become staging system for Ratai deep raid but to secure the beachead, Kiroi needed buffer zones, which were to be two neighbouring systems to this one.

Splitting his forces into two, Admiral Kiroi sent his forces forward, he himself leading the main assault towards the center of Novian territory. The supply ship Oracle remained in Lak'tar and for now its only escort was to be the destroyer it was repairing. However, Ratai reinforcements were to arrhive soon to increase the escort numbers.
Moves.
Spoiler!
-Splitting the Ratai fleet into three.
-Main fleet -> Moving towards Gre'kt
2x Orentis battlecarrier.
1x White star battlecarrier.
3x Overseer battlecarrier.
6x Guardian hvy cruiser.
6x Dragonfly light cruiser.
5x Stormbringer missile cruiser.
3x Angel class destroyer.
10x Teus class destroyer.
5x Chaser class frigate.
10x Hammerhead frigate.

--

-2nd Fleet: = Stationed in Lak'tar.
1x Oracle supply ship.
1x Teus Destroyer.

--

3rd Fleet. -> Moving to Urema

3x White star battlecarrier.
1x Overseer battlecarrier.
4x Guardian hvy cruiser.
4x Dragonfly light cruiser.
2x Angel class destroyer.
9x Teus class destroyer.
2x Arime class destroyer.
10x Chaser class frigate.
5x Hammerhead frigate.

REINFORCEMENTS: -> TO Lak'tar 4 Teus class destroyers, adding to 2nd fleet.

Also, since you are getting mines, can I get ~3 sentry guns to systems I own? Those are about equal to Chaser (with one turret) in firepower but stationary and with far less HP.

I agree with Calvin. The Maelstrom, being the first of the Dreadnoughts, originally only had a dozen in play.
The Arasaw, has only 15 currently commissioned. The only reason more than one of those show up is that there are actually only 3 points into the Miora Colonies.

Novian turn 2:

First blood
Spoiler!
Admiral Lok'ta stared out into the void through the armoglass observation port, his many implants humming to the tune of the engines. A ruddy light played over the ships from the nearby star coating the deck in a deep orange. Having to remain behind to protect the sector didn't sit well with Lok'ta and he longed to be with the task-force at 'Daike'. The Ratai attack would at least give him a distraction. Turning from the port with a sigh Lok'ta activated the comm on his Cilipad glove.

'Helm, status report on the Ratai scum.' he hissed.
'Departing from Lak'tar in two separate battle forces, as predicted. Admiral.'
'Fleet sizes?'
'Auspex scans show two fleets heading towards Gre'kt and Urema. The main force is inbound on Rad'an, as predicted.'
'Good, contact commander Rem'lk and tell him to "greet" our guests.'
'Yes, Admiral.'
Moves:
Spoiler!
-Rem'lk's fleet -> Moving to Urema
1x 'Eternity' Dreadnought
2x 'Atheist' Battle-carriers
4x 'Redemptor' Battleships
5x 'Salvation' Heavy cruisers
5x 'Sanguine' Meduim frigates

-Lok'ta's fleet - Stationary at Rad'an
2x 'Eternity' Dreadnoughts
2x 'Atheist' Battle-carriers
4x 'Redemptor' Battleships
5x 'Salvation' Heavy cruisers
5x 'Sanguine' Meduim frigates

-Reserve fleet - Stationary at Mer'tra
1x 'Atheist' Battle-carrier
2x 'Redemptor' Battleships
5x 'Sanguine' Meduim frigates

Reinforcements to -> Mer'tra
1x 'Salvation' Heavy cruisers
Combat
Spoiler!
Warning Klaxons blared across the bridge over the warring squeaks, bleeps and yells as the fleet prepared for battle. Amid the controlled chaos stood the commander at the holo-console. Rem'lk methodically punched out the fleet orders with lightning precision, his mechanical tentacles moving ships into position with keystrokes.

'We are out numbered by 2.3529 to one, are you sure that this is what the admiral intended?' Slandered his lieutenant.
'These are Ratai, it was predicted that they would come in such numbers.' Rem'lk scowled.
'But the reserve fleet i.....'
'Is two systems away. This I know. We posses greater fire power, they will not be needed.' He cutoff.
'But....'
'BE SILENT OR I SHALL KILL YOU WHERE YOU STAND.' Rem'lk spat.

Knowing better than to test his ire the lieutenant left the platform in shame. 'He will learn to trust the predictions.' Rem'lk muttered.

Battle of Urema:

Novian forces:
1x 'Eternity' Dreadnought
2x 'Atheist' Battle-carriers
4x 'Redemptor' Battleships
5x 'Salvation' Heavy cruisers
5x 'Sanguine' Meduim frigates

Ratai forces:
3x White star battlecarrier.
1x Overseer battlecarrier.
4x Guardian hvy cruiser.
4x Dragonfly light cruiser.
2x Angel class destroyer.
9x Teus class destroyer.
2x Arime class destroyer.
10x Chaser class frigate.
5x Hammerhead frigate.

Hmm, we could split the battle into smaller fractions, say.. battle taking place across the sector, cause mine will also definately jam with that many battlecarriers present.

Edit: Also, assuming Salvation is what you class as heavy ship, you can have two of those hence the double reinforcement rate - if you want, assuming we go by 1,2,4 for Ratai and 2,4,8 for Novians?

(o. o ) No fleet AI? Im quite sure there is and it should be on by default. Do notice that max range is 1000 be default in encounters. Set it to... like... 2500 or something.

Whahaha. 1fps. Sure thats impressive looking start for battle, but it will take just 5 minutes for those ships to even reach one another XD

How about we split into... least 2 or maybe 3 groups, that take place in same sector, but liitttle bit away from one another? And may I also place the ships as I would prefer? of course to the lower corner?
