the Maquesas Trading Federation is a Federation consisting of 13 systems working together to supply each other the materials they need.
they rarely trade with others outside of their system and so rely on jumpgates instead of regular jumping.

up untill 3 years ago there was no reason for them to ever develop warships of any kind.
they relied on small carriers with patrol craft escorts to keep the trade routes safe.
when the Southern Expanse ran out of exploitable ground they needed to expand,and they unfortunantly expanded into an area known for its pirate presence, but the ,TF leaders decided to take the chance because of the large amounts of valuable materials in that particular section.

butt they soon got attacked by large pirate raids and alien species invading their just established territory.
after a emergency meeting it was concluded that they needed specialized ships to deal with the fleets of pirates and other things attacking their trade routes.
and so all 13 systems rapidly started to develop a ship with its own specialty.
thanks to their trading among the MTF and neighbouring countries they had vast libraries of knowledge available,which they put to good use in their ship and weapon design.

when the pirate threath was defeated they hungered for more battle and started to randomly attack their neighbours.

their far more developed neighbours overwhelmed their forces and the MTF was forced to go onto defense and has now sealed its borders with numerous defence stations and Hyperspace inhibitors

its now secretely building a fleet to strike back again.
and its expeditionary fleet is awaiting the last few craft to be assembled before taking of through their waiting fleet of Gateships(essentially giant jumpgates which can move and are not coupled to another one so in case of destruction of one of the ends they can still divert to another Gateship)[/list]

Actually that is the ARM logo.

EDIT2: i changed from a Stargate Glyph to a ARM logo so thats why its different from the other comments

Actually, the company that made TA was called Cavedog Entertainment, not Barking Dog Studios (which seems to be a web design company).

Oh, and try to edit through the first post for capitalization and spelling, it's rather horrendous.
