Question related to War for the Universe RPG

Post by R0ni »

This question goes mainly for Doogie since he began the thread - or then anyone who knows how this works.

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6972

Im tempted to join, but I am afraid to post since I do not know exactly how I should do it? Obviously Doogie made move approaching Ratai faction, so as maker of that faction, should I play the response somehow, or?

(o. o )/ sorry for sillyness.

I want this to be run similiar to Starstruck's Clarent thing. It's quite informal, as you are really just dictating the fate of Ishtan and the crew of The Locust. If you would like to supply information about the Ratai, such as civilian stuff (more ships...) and such, that'd be fine. But otherwise you, as the audience, are just telling me what to do.

Well, I made two ships for you. One cruiser size civilian ship with docking point extended, and then smaller ship that really is only for decoration.

Normally when Ratai civilian ships are approached, any non Ratai ship is met by two or more interceptors that scan the ship and then direct the ship in business to correct course and for docking. Similarly upon leaving, the interceptors escort the leaving ships into certain invicible line and then break off.

Miora ships are allowed to approach quite freely. Some questions might be asked about cargo along with ship ID and reason for approaching the civilian fleet. These are usually just routine questions that need to be filled for record.

Ratai civilian fleet usually has several larger ships that handle the trading for certaing group of ships as docking in space is quite complex thing and accidents may happen. As Ratai ships basically are home for their specie, they are extra careful with approaches and departures. Usually approached ships are asked to slow down before joining the formation, and interceptors quite closely enforce that speed limits are not violated.

Ratai cannot replicate Mioran weapons due to them being far more technologically advanced, although they might be interested in buying few to be stripped apart and studied - perhaps to copied in some retrofit version. Organic products are what interest civilian fleets more, especially something that can be potentially grown for food, or studied to aid current food production. Ratai may also want organic products for just their DNA samples and study. Gotta be resourceful in space.

Ratai do have money and understanding over it, but often they prefer to trade things for something else if that is possible. Of course, if there is something they want, they can submit to desires of merchant selling it.

Ratai themselves have extended records of foreign technology as they have traded with many species. While they may not be able to construct even half of the stuff they have know how to due to lack of resources, they have blueprints for many advanced techs they have gathered throughout their journey. They also have extensive star maps and detailed information about systems they have visited in their 200 year journey which they might be willing to share in exchange. Ratai also have many bio tech products for sell, especially related to food production in space. Also Ratai posses advanced mining processors and equipment as usually fleet does not remain in system longer than few weeks. Thats not lot of time to establish working mining operation, so their stuff nees to harvest effeciently and fast. This is something they might be willing to trade also.

I have lots of those. However, most of them are common only in the Cephean and Delphinus sector. I imagine that the Delphinus and Bootes sector will now have TSE military ships as well. V6 marauders (oh hey Horsemonster, want to supply those for me?) and whatever you plan to make should be common throughout the Bootes and Auriga sector.

Also, I stole, edited, and recolored your station from the scrapheap. It looks quite nice.
