I'm waiting for SM3.0 to go gold before joining any arms races. I do not see the point in making a lot of effort only for it to be nuked by a shipmaker version change.
I realize the old ships will still be legit and usable but I would inevitably want to go back to rebalance or tweak, and keeping an old SM around for that seems pointless to me.

Sure. I'm in. I've already made all the ships I need. My Seraphim Industries thread contains them. I might need to make an updated .zip file containing all of them, as there's far too many of them to go through downloading each one individually (read: over 40 classes of ships).

It isn't that important, at least at the moment, since I don't think this is anything official like the tournaments (official and uberwank ships don't go together). Just consider that ships that fill the netire shipmaker 2 are normally superdreadnoughts or monitors. A quick look at your thread and it seems that everything you've classified there is good, apart from the fighters, which maybe should be corvettes or such.
