Well, I think we should wait a bit before trying to capture any more midgets, as at the moment, it's pretty near impossible. So, swim upwards until we have a bird's eye view of the entire place, so we can decide where to explore first.

It is so not impossible with our new numbing toxins. We can web them =P
Mind it may be impossible to MOVE them into their new home, so lets give it a shot, but if It doesn't work THEN I third your idea.

You try one last time to us your slime to capture midgets, this time only letting your slime settle on them, rather than hitting them.
Why you thought such a fast species would be unable to avoid that, you are uncertain.
So you give up, and swim upwards as fast as you can to see all that you can see. First off, you see the mountain you made your home in the side of. It's got holes all over, and rises up out past the surface of the water. Near it, the surface ripples as if water is rapidly being added there. On the east, on the other side of the valley, are two smaller mountains, barely reaching the top of the water. To the north, in the valley, you can see taller plants growing, but from this high up you can't make out any details. To the south, you can see that the valley curves east around the larger mountain, and there's another mountain on the other side, but the water gets pretty murky in that direction.
Also, this high up, the current is REALLY strong, and you're being sucked north irresistibly.

Well, north sounds like the best bet anyway, so let the current take us there and swim down.

You let the current take you north a ways, until you reach that tall jungle you saw. You then swim down into the jungle, trying to find some sort of new life form to kill.
The first fact about the jungle you notice is the abundance of too many plant species to count. The second thing is that there are still midgets here, Nom Nom Noming away at the soil. But there seems to be another variant of midget here, too. These guys appear to have, not only fins on their sides, but long, long flagulla, with some sort of paddle or large fin on it, another fin on top of the midget, and a pair of jaws and shovel like teeth. Not to mention the rows of shining dots along it's back, it's faceted eyes, and the spurs on the tips of the vanes in it's topmost fin.
You only get glimpses of such, though, as they dart between the multitude of plants.
There also seems to be a bigger, slow herbivore nearby, but you can't locate it. You've detected movement in the corners of your eyes, more than once, but you JUST. CAN'T. FIND. IT. For all you know, there could be only one of them, or hundreds.

Flagella, Flagellum. Man I love Firefox with a Dictionary installed.

Also, STEALTH!! Woo.
Lets try sitting there, looking out the corners of our eyes, and moving towards the movement. If its stealthed its likely to be a defensive creature, so we should be fairly safe getting close to them.
Those new Midgets, I suggest calling them Speed Midgets. They look built for speed, and noming rocks/soil.

(Note: There are other variants of midgets elsewhere, too. So far, you have found: unevolved, furry, and now speed. you have three to go)

You float around, looking for any movement of those herbivores. Often, you follow a lead, only to find it was another Speedy Midget (+1 DNA). As you drift, you take a bite out of some plants to find out about them.
The first bite tore off a large leaf from a plant large enough to have started developing some sort of bark. The leaf itself even seemed pretty fibrous (+2 DNA).
Your second sample was from this small sprout. Actually, you tore the whole sprout up by the roots, but there are hundreds of similar sprouts, so you don't worry. As you eat the sprout, you notice your membrane start to glow for a moment, but not long (+3 DNA).
The third sample you take is from this clump of very closely packed plants, that look like they are just made of a single, tall leaf each. The word grass seems appropriate. They're so tightly packed, you wonder for a bit how they get nutrients without killing each other, but you let it go and just eat a couple of blades of the stuff (+2 DNA).
Finally, you feel you've located one of the herbivores. Or, you've located a mound of earth that the midgets won't eat, but eat around. You're not sure.
