Agreed here, this sounds like the best course of action.

You decide to search the house for vermin to consume. There are no mice or rats to be found, but you do find a larger, fuzzier creature that you believe is called a "cat". It rubs against your leg and makes a strange noise. A 'purr'. You pick it up. It rubs its face against yours. Uncertain how to respond to this demonstration of affection, you place the cat back down. You know that the creature is probably a "pet" belonging to Alvier, and that he is unlikely to be pleased if it disappears.

Instead, you leave the cottage and explore the town. It's larger than you thought it would be, though not as large as Goodharbor. It's closer to a small city than a town, really, with a farming community on the out-skirts. You've learned about "money", and considering you have some, you think you might see what things you can purchase. During the course of this, you learn that the town is well-populated enough that you could probably get away with killing a few people without drawing suspicion.

After doing some shopping, you find some more clothing that you find suits your taste, which isn't torn or ripped, and a pack to keep your belongings in. You also purchase a horse and a large wardog, which requires most of your funds. But they won't fight back until its too late. You lead them away, off to a private, secluded area far from the edges of town, then you kill and eat them. You were literally hungry enough to eat a horse, and you had room left over for the dog too. It was a very satisfying meal.

Afterwards, you return to Alvier's home. He returns in the late afternoon, and then you watch him train. He stands outside, moving through what he calls "katas", using a large spear. His movements are graceful and elegant, and there's something else about him. He seems something more than human. Afterwards, you have dinner, and exchange light conversation. He notes how your wounds seem to already be healed, and seems slightly confused by it, but doesn't question you further.

He goes to bed, and you do the same, waiting until you hear his breathing become that of a sleeping person before slipping out into the night, ready to hunt once more.

Increased Run Speed

Dexterity 3 and increased run speed. (I'd recommend that everyone else at least vote for dex 3. Dex is what most exalted combat rolls are primarily based off of, at least for actually hitting.

As for hunting, try to find a single person, with no family. We've already seen what happens when we don't check for others in a household or outside.

Take Awareness 3 SPECIFICALLY FROM THE DOG, FOR HEARING SHIT, and Dexterity 3 from the horse.

As for hunting: We know the wilds are just filled with angry things that can kill us in a split second, so s
earch the town for single targets. And yeah, let's try to be more careful this time.
Agreeing with Siber's idea.

Awareness 3 and increased run speed. Go back to the stables. Kill and eat all the horses. Check for guards first.

Awareness 3 and Dexterity 3 I think. Go searching for single humans, though checking the stables wouldn't be a bad idea. If theres a lot of horses though it would probably be a bad idea, they would be too loud if you started messing around in there.

search around, lead one horse off away before consuming it, we don't want to spook the other one by the death sounds or the smell of blood. Then start looking for hobos!

and Dex 3 + increased Running speed

Heh finally someone bothers to note that it is BF!

Let me explain my choices, because we seem to be at a bit of an impasse. Awareness is great, because if we get caught we're screwed even if we're decent in a fight. We need awareness to avoid fights we can't win, find guards, and so forth. Running speed is good, because if we do get caught it gives us better chances of escaping from fights we can't win. We can get dex later.

... Ok fair enough I'll go with this then.

Least for the stats choices.

After your meal, you feel your ears shift on your head, rising a little and gaining pointed tips and a light tuft of fur, and your sight improves as well, your vision sharpening. At the same time, your legs elongate, bones shifting and muscles expanding and tightening. Your feet alter their shape slightly as well, but stop well short of becoming hooves, though your boots feel a little tight afterwards.

So, you decide the stables will be your target tonight. You found you like the taste of horse meat. Creeping out a window, you look up to the sky, smiling at the sight of the moon hidden behind clouds. It's nice and dark, and you have little trouble keeping out of sight as you approach the stables. There's a single guard on duty, but he doesn't see you, even as you creep up behind him and cover his mouth with one hand, slipping your knife between his ribs. You drag him back into the shadows and feast.

Then you slip into the stables. The horses shy away from you, whickering and seeming hesitant, but you're able to calm them down, petting and stroking their manes. You lead one out of the stables and off somewhere dark and private, then consume it greedily without drawing any notice. Then you slip back into the stables and are about to lead out another horse, only to hear movement behind you. It seems brighter in the room.

You turn around and Alvier has a serious expression on his face. He's holding his spear, and it's glowing with a faint golden light, "We need to talk, Tessa."

Well, this is an awkward situation. What do you plan to do?

Explain yourself. Explain everything you feel like explaining.

Party members and allies are useful.

Melee from the guard, Dex from the horse.

Take Dex 3 and Melee 3. Give him a simple "What about?" if he hasn't figured out we're eating people, make it seem like we were just gonna steal a horse and leave. If we need a cover story, we're a fairly wealthy merchant's daughter whose family was murdered and now we're running from the culprits. It's not safe for anyone if we stay.

Seconded.
