Lets go with his plans, for now. Having a weak Ally is often better than being a little more powerful, at worst he can drag you off the battlefield before you get killed. =P
Uh ... weak? Have you been missing the part about him being a SOLAR EXALTED?

Not saying he is weak, just saying that a weak ally is better than none, and a strong ally is better than a weak one by far.

After giving it some thought, you decide you'll play along with Alvier's scheme for now. Your jaw feels more powerful than it did before, and your incisors have grown longer, folding backwards like those of a snake until you choose to strike. They caused no outward change in your appearance, which quite pleases you. It's easy enough to avoid the places where the woman whose appearance you're presently wearing would be easily recognised, as you had her husband's knowledge.

You make your way to the address Alvier had given you and knock on the front door, smiling disarmingly as someone comes to open it. The first thing that you notice about the "Advisor" is her striking appearance. She really is stunningly beautiful, wearing garments of fine silk and very fine jewellery, her golden hair tied back in a loose bun.

"Hello, how may I help you?"

You spin a very convincing lie about working for the Councillor, how he wishes for you to recieve training as an "Advisor". The woman smiles faintly and gives a small nod, as if such things have occured in the past, inviting you in and offering you some tea. You accept, following her casually as she leads you through her home. It's a well-decorated home, with obvious shows of wealth on display, with finely crafted furniture and expensive artworks.

You join the Advisor in her tea room and share tea with her, smiling and nodding as she talks with you amiably, casually making your own contributions to the conversation. You find yourself actually liking this woman. It's a strange experience for you. You've never liked anything before, except for eating things. You decide it's not entirely unpleasant, but it does not sway your decision to eat her.

After the tea, she asks if you're comfortable with starting your training right now. You of course say you are. Smiling, she takes your hand and leads you up the stairs to her bedroom, guiding you within before stepping away and starting to disrobe. You don't hesitate. While her back is exposed, you lunge forth and grab her from behind, covering her mouth and sinking your venomous fangs into her neck, spilling her blood and injecting her with a dose of your fatal poison.

You lower her to the ground, staring into her eyes, watching her as she dies, the poison working its way through her system with incredible speed. After she draws her final breath, you waste no time, consuming her corpse greedily, feeling for the first time a faint sense of guilt.

Take her appearance and check the house for anything like a schedule, diary or whatnot to get to know the person who's appearance you've just assimilated.

If anyone enters the house and has business with you, tell them your not feeling well, or using the knowledge you may have gained from whatever you've read concerning the Advisor, go along with whatever comes up, but don't consume anyone, as that might arouse suspicion.

Apperance 5. Since we have nothing else to do, we could probaly look around the house for any random bits of infomation. Who knows, this council guy might have info on Alvier. We may also find out another motive as to the reason why he wants the counciller dead

Hey if you feel guilty might as well take her appearance and make her death worth it then. Make sure to grab her clothes too.
I dunno what else to add at this point.

Alternatively for a fun time: Take compassion 4 and cry over what you've just done!

Appearance 5 definitely, I think maybe we should scout around the town, and eat some hobos if we can find any. Just for kicks.

After assuming her form, you casually remove your clothing and put on some of hers, very fine garments of silk that feel so delightful against your skin. After wearing the rough, harsh clothing of peasants, you're surprised by the softness and smoothness o the dress you're wearing now. You then search the house, finding several things including a diary, her schedule, a pair of arcane tomes which fascinate you mightily but are presently beyond your comprehension. Then there's the more practical items. Dozens of dresses and gowns, all of incredible quality that could fetch a small fortune if sold.

Then there's the bag of silver talents. More than you could easily carry at the moment. You take the dresses, the silver and everything else of value and stash them somewhere out of the way, then you quietly leave the home with her schedule in hand. You look over it intently, remembering every last detail before tucking it back in your pocket and making your way towards the Councillor's apartments.

You don't even need to knock. He has a door in the backs of his apartment through which his 'Advisor' can enter and leave without being observed or interrupted, and you make your way up to his private sitting room. The Councillor lifts his head as you step in, "Ah, Feluria. I've been waiting for you. Come, I have something to show you."

And since almost everyone voted for carrying out Alvier's plan, I'll continue.

You're not in the business of hesitating any more. The very moment he turns away, you step up behind him and thrust a knife between his ribs, and sink your fangs into his neck at the same time. Despite him apparently being an incredible, powerful Exalted, Chosen of the Elemental Dragons, he dies all too easily. He's already stopped breathing by the time he hits the ground.

There's something about him. You've always felt hunger when you've killed, but this is something else. You immediately fall to your knees and eat. Your body fills with power. your mind expands, and everything suddenly becomes clear.

Essence 2 and 20 motes
If you want to see your other options, I'll post them, but frankly, if you don't jump all over this, you're insane. To put it simply, for those of you unfamiliar with Exalted, Essence is pretty much your... magical power, I guess? Motes are points of essence that you can expend on charms -- innate magical abilities -- once you have them. And of particular importance to our Doppleganger, at Essence 2, it will be able to take two traits instead of just one from things it eats, from now on.

Also, what would you like to do now? No doubt Alvier will be amazed to find you have succeeded so soon. Even you didn't think it would be this easy. Fortune seems to be smiling upon you once again. You've got plenty of time to do almost anything you could want.

DAMN!! I mean just damn, he went down that easy? Then theres the Essence. Gotta take that.

I think Alvier wasn't giving us the full picture seeing how we took this guy down way too easily, and Alvier took us down, so he should have been able to do it himself even easier.

First check to see what he wanted to show us, there might be something more useful yet.
And after we have combed the area for stuff and anything useful to us, lets go back to Alvier and find out why this guy died too easily.

I still don't trust Alvier.

I'll be completely honest right now. Y'know why he went down so easy? Sneak attacks are awesome, especially when you hit with multiple attacks. In a direct fight, things could have gotten really messy. It was a matter of lucky rolls, basically. Very lucky.

To put how good sneak attacks can be into perspectve: Melua, a character in the Exalted campaign I'm running on IRC. She is not combat focused. Not even slightly. In the most recent session, she dealt 29 lethal damage with a sneak attack. 29 lethal damage is enough to kill our Doppleganger four or five times over.

Ofcourse go for Essence 2 and those 20 motes, and since you've now murdered the man, take a quick look around to see if there's anything of interest, on him or in the room, look for the thing he wanted to show you, clean up yourself and the room at the best of your abilities, since your probably bloodstained, if you hear anyone about to enter the room, scream as hard as you can to not arouse the suspicion that you've killed the Councilor, maybe open a window or something like that to make it look like someone entered through there, if nothing happens quietly leave through the same way you entered the house.

Since you've finished ahead of schedule, check your schedule, and if you've got another appointment coming up, go there after going back to the Advisor's(now your's) home and making a change of clothing.
When you are done for the day, return home and decide on what to do next, maybe you''ll run into Alvier, if not, go to sleep, but make sure that your adequitely protected, got weapons near you, since I wouldn't be surprised if Alvier would backstab you or kill you in your sleep.
Maybe take a look at the diary again, get some background information and names from it, since you could probably stay in the town of Goodharbor for a good while yet.

EDIT: Think about it for a second you idiot, I either finished typing earlier because I've been typing for a longer time, or have finished earlier , because I type faster.
If your wondering, its a combination of the two, I guess.
EDIT2:Why the hell does that even matter?

Look through the entire house to see if anything looks useful/interesting. If possible find a better weapon, the guy might turn on you now. When you done, go back to the guy (or does the guy come to you? :?)

Essence, I guess

Edit: how did ADM finish typing before I did?
