And here's the log of the most recent session. Logs for Sessions 2.5a and 2.5b are on the previous page, for those who missed them.

Session Log 3
<PFP|Storyteller> Session 3 Begins. It's been roughly six days since your arrival in Sijan. Arnold and Morrighan both left a few days ago, with Gentleman instructing them that he had another task he intended for them to perform, leaving the Circle bereft of two of its members. Singer wasn't seen at all until four days had passed, looking to be in rather poor condition and remaining quite silent. Finally, after doing some investigating, the party feels confident that they have all the details they need on the manse to the north.
* Melua makes sure to obtain a backpack to carry Sapphire, rope, clothing, etc in, and to obtain a 10 foot pole
<PFP|Storyteller> Such items are easily acquired.
<AureusSila> Aureus sat in the commonroom of the inn, hunched over the strange book. No matter how he tried, he couldn't make an sort of sense out of it. It was infuriating him to no end and he was seconds away from biting someones head off.
* Erin`Marias makes sure she's got ready if they're heading out for this bloody manse, and is milling around downstairs peering over at Aureus and his fancy book~
<Melua> Melua idly nibbles on a cookie from a plate. "Well, I'm ready to go at any time. Thanks again for helping me, Lionel."
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer walks past Aureus and looks down at the book in his hands, furrowing a brow and reaching down to brush a fingertip across the page, "Hm. That's interesting."
* Reyna_Malach just sits quietly on her kidnapped chair in the far corner, quiet and inconspicuous.
* Lionel chuckles "Any day, though how you managed to get wounds like that in this city..". Lionel gives Melua a sideways glance.
* Mirage sits and scribbles some last notes on a piece of parchment, then folds it into a pile of others and heats up some sealing wax.
<Mirage> Anyone else have letters they want to get to someone in the Silver Pact?
<AureusSila> Aureus managed to very very barely keep himself from lashing out at Singer's hand. "What is?" He more or less spat the words out.
<Reyna_Malach> Peking her ears at Mirages inquiry, Reyna files it away for later use.
* Erin`Marias shakes her head to Mirage, and moves back a bit from cranky mageboy. She glances at Singer for a moment. "You recognize whatever it's written in?"
<Melua> Melua gives a sly smile and shrugs. "I fell down some stairs. Onto rocks. And was then carried to the top of the stairs and fell down them again." Laughing, she shakes her head. "Trust me, it's better for you that you don't know."
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer frowns a little at the way Aureus snaps at her, drawing her hand away, "Those are necromancy rituals." She says simply, looking over the group, "I'm not entirely comfortable going to the manse without two of our best fighters, to be honest, but perhaps it's better that we try resolving this situation without violence."
* Mirage grins at Lionel and Melua. "I did hear that a certain museum had an incident with one of the exhibits the night after we arrived, and is closed for repairs. Petal didn't have details though. I'm sure it's just coincidence."
* Lionel raises an eyebrow. "Interestingly shaped rocks" he mutters. "I suppose I shall take your word for it. I would stay away from those *stairs* in future" Lionel says with a grin
* Erin`Marias nods again. "Me either." She glances sideways at Reyna. "We haven't seen what she can do yet, so who knows."
<Melua> "I saw the wreckage. Terrible mess." Turning to Singer, she tilted her head. "You know, that manse belonged to an Anathema long ago. Rumor has it he was one of the first to dabble in necromancy."
* Lionel pales at the mention of Necromancy. "Great"
* Reyna_Malach frowns at Erin. "And if I could choose you never would see. Combat's wasteful."
<AureusSila> Aureus lit up just a little. Singer could obviously tell what this was, which means Singer could read it. A sly little grin played on his lips for less than a second before he turned his head to Singer and beamed. "Really? I can't read it at all... Could you teach me what it says sometime?" A slight nod to the side made his facial expression all that much more adorable.
* Erin`Marias is going to pretend she didn't hear that from a Full Moon.
* Mirage peers curiously over at Aureus and Singer. Necromancy. Ick.
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer would move to Melua's side, "Is that so? My, that is interesting," She says, before reaching down to lift one of Melua's hands up, inspecting the bracelet around her wrist, "My, this is pretty." She murmurs, staring at it for a moment before looking to Aureus, smiling warmly, "I'd be happy to."
* Lionel glances over at Aureus and frowns slightly, evidently not approving of the book, or his choice to read it.
<Melua> "I ah...I'm glad you noticed..." Melua pulls her hand away as Singer looks away. "Actually, I think necromancy is pretty interesting, myself. But we might want to be careful; he apparently caused that shadowland the manse is in."
* Lionel turns to the rest of the group "Shall we make preparations and begin to move, it would likely be preferable to reach this manse with ample daylight"
<AureusSila> A smug look took Aureus face as he closed the book, saving whatever secrets it held for a later time.
* Melua raises her pack. "I'm way ahead of you, myself."
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer frowns slightly, "That Shadowland is one of the largest in the East. He was certainly determined." She says, looking towards Lionel, "Yes, reaching the manse while the sun is still high would be a good idea..."
* Erin`Marias nods. "Ready to go whenever."
* Lionel nods and leans forward over the table "So what information were we able to gather about this manse. Any specific dangers that emerged or good entry points?"
* Mirage nods, sealing up his packet of letters. "I'm ready to go, I can drop this off on the way... I think we would have to find out more about these Abyssals before we can come up with a non-violent solution."
<Melua> "Spying...?" Melua thinks. "Sneaking into a manse is one of the hardest things to do. I can try, but it's very risky. I'd give it 30% success without being noticed."
<PFP|Storyteller> According to the plans found in the library, there is only a single entrance into the manse, a pair of large, ornate doors of black jade and soulsteel. There aren't any sort of traps in the plans, though wards, while passive, are quite extensive.
* Mirage smiles. "Why then, dear Melua, we will simply have to be noticed and appear to be something other than what we are."
<Erin`Marias> "Something -other- than a wandering bunch of, y'know..? That'll be a feat."
<Melua> Melua shoulders her pack. "Well, if you have suggestions, I'm open to hearing them, but we should get moving soon."
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer smiles a little, "We could just walk up to the front doors and knock?"
<AureusSila> Aureus stands up, stuffing the book down into a bag of assorted stuff, along with a scroll and a flask of black oil.
<Mirage> "Oh, I'll be considering it, certainly. The most obvious choice would just be shapeshifting into a squirrel or such." He grins at Singer. "That could be a good plan B, yes."
<Melua> "I don't...think you understand what I meant about sneaking into a manse, Mirage."
<Mirage> "Oh? Possibly not then. What did you mean?"
* Lionel looks at Mirage "Wards.. might they not detect exalted?"
<Melua> "I've known manses to have very sensitive sensors, including essence-based ones."
<Erin`Marias> "They'll probably know we're coming once we're inside, aye. We should get moving though. We can discuss matters on the way, eh?"
* Mirage blinks at Lionel. "I don't know, you tell me? That would be quite problematic though. Well then, why would an Exalted wish to drop by and chit-chat with them?" He nods and stands. "Let's plan on the way."
* Reyna_Malach stands, disappearing into the folds of her voluminous cloak and yawning ever so slightly.
* Lionel glances at Singer. "The fact that we are traveling with an abyssal may make them more inclined to talk than attack on sight.. plus there are seven of us"
* Melua nods. "And I mean, maybe they're nice people, like Singer. Just because we need to stop them doesn't mean they're villains."
* Lionel stands, and says "Off we go" with a wry smile
* Mirage gives Melua an odd look at the 'nice people, like Singer' line. Hmm.
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer raises a hand to brush stray stands of her from her face, her gaze occasionally flickering towards Melua's wrists. She then turns her gaze to Lionel and lofts a brow, "They're far more likely to trust me than any of you." She flickers a smile at Melua as she hears her words, moving towards the exit, "Well, I'm ready to go."
* Erin`Marias moves to linger around the exit as well, ready to roll out and musing to herself.
<AureusSila> Aureus follows along with the party, absentmindedly practicing his hooded headsman.
* Reyna_Malach returns the chair to it's proper resting place before idling towards the door, absorbed once again in her own little world.
* Melua fastens her cloak and grabs her things. "Well, let's go then!"
* Mirage cue Overworld Music.
<PFP|Storyteller> It's not far to reach the edges of the Black Chase, and each of you feels a faint shiver run up your spine as you cross into the shadowland, but it's a fair way to the manse from there, a good five hours away on foot. During the journey, Lionel, Mirage and Erin all uncover signs that indicate something rather large and unpleasantly skeletal has been roaming these dark forests. Reyna, on the other hand, manages to get seperated from the group, cornered by a massive skeletal lion with a mane of bristling spikes. It growls, taking a step towards her.
* Reyna_Malach gulps, and prays. "Dear gods, please don't let me fuck up and die."
* Melua shivers slightly. "You know, if you get past all the creepiness, this is kinda cool."
* Lionel stands up from inspecting the tracks "I don't like the look of this, something big has been wandering around here"
<Erin`Marias> "Well what were you expecting to be roaming around in a Shadowland? A pack of wild corgis?"
<Lionel> "We should probably hurry, I'm sure anything in a shadowland is bad"
* Melua looks quickly around her own feet. "OH! What a coincidence! I found tracks too! They seem to be mine! I think I should follow them and see where they go!"
* Mirage eyes a suspiciously unhealthy-looking squirrel. "Corgis would probably be preferable, yes."
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer smiles a little to herself, tilting her head back, "The Essence is a lot nicer here..." She mumbles, looking about curiously.
* Lionel sighs
<AureusSila> Aureus found the eerie atmosphere slightly uncomfortable, but also surprisingly excited. He licked his lips and looked around, pretty on edge.
* Erin`Marias smirks slightly. "Undead corgis, maybe? I'm not sure if that would be terrifying or hilarious. Like little landbound piranhas, I suppose."
<PFP|Storyteller> The large bone lion approaches Reyna slowly, leaning forward to snuffle at her through its nostrils, appearing to have a sense of smell in spite of being made entirely of bone. Suddenly a massive paw lashes out, huge claws aiming to rake across the Lunar's chest.
* Mirage coughs. "Not a confrontation one would tell the kids about, I expect."
<Melua> "What's a piranha, anyway?"
<Erin`Marias> "Tropical fish. Tiny. Huge teeth. Carnivorous. Bloody great appetite."
<Erin`Marias> "Little bastards swim in packs and they'll eat you alive if you aren't careful."
<Lionel> "They cause terrible wounds, hard to treat if the person even survives"
<Melua> "...That's nonsense, I would have heard of a fish like that!"
* Melua pouts at being teased
<Lionel> "They only appear in rivers from what I have seen"
<Lionel> "And lakes of course"
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer laughs softly at Melua, "You don't see them so much out in the west. Besides, you've got bigger things to worry about out there. Like Siaka."
* Erin`Marias laughs. "Hey, don't believe me if you want. Just don't blame me when the little bastards eat your toes if you go for a swim in the jungle rivers, eh."
* Melua makes a giant shudder at the mention of Siaka. "Hey, how am I supposed to know you meant rivers? That's right, pick on the foreign girl...!" Despite her words, Melua gives a tiny self-concious smile.
<Erin`Marias> "I did say tropical."
* Reyna_Malach starts, bending in ways no person should be able to and leaping out of the attack's path with a yelp of surprise.
<Melua> Melua looks like she's about to say something, but presses her lips together and nods, averting her eyes.
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer smiles and reaches over to ruffle Melua's hair lightly, laughing a little, before turning her gaze upwards and suddenly stopping in her tracks, "Necromancy has been used here. Recently."
* Erin`Marias grinds to a half as well. "How recently would you say?"
* Lionel looks at Singer, before slowly moving towards the other group members
<Erin`Marias> (er, halt)
* Melua tilts her head up as well. "What kind?"
* Mirage frowns and tops, looking back at Singer. "How can you tell?"
* Reyna_Malach hits the ground already in motion, crouched over to start but quickly dropping to all fours as she zooms directly away from the massive, er, thing behind her. Gottafindtheothers don'tdiedon'tdie gottafindtheothers.
<PFP|Storyteller> Reyna manages to escape the Bone Lion and retrace her steps, catching up to the rest of the party at a rapid speed. Sadly for them, the Bone Lion is an incredible tracker, and mere moments later it bursts from the underbrush, swiping at Reyna once again.
<Melua> "What-"
<Lionel> "Fu-.." exclaims Lionel, stumbling backwards
<Reyna_Malach> "Higuysyoushouldprobablyrunnow!" Reyna babbles,
* Erin`Marias whirls around at the incoming noise and-- "GODS BE DAMNED WOMAN!"
* Mirage wastes no time with exclaimations! He's already on his way to spirit form and looking for something to hide under!
* Melua sighs and slips up into the trees and disappears
<AureusSila> "Tch!" Aureus tosses himself to the side and rolls on the ground back up on his feet, out of the way of Reyna and the lion, ready to start shaping at any moment.
* Lionel looks at his bow, then at the skeletal lion before sprinting off into the undergrowth
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer is about to respond to those questions when Reyna and then the Bone Lion burst out. Her response is to draw her soulsteel reaver daiklave, lunging forward and swiping at it gracefully.
* Lionel cowers under a bush (-.-)
* Mirage cowers under Lionel. ^o_o^
* Erin`Marias gets the big toys out! She brings her Dire Lance out of it's cloth wrap and into ready status within moments, snapping sectioned haft together with practiced ease. My, that's a big shiny pointy stick. Undeniably moonsilver.
* Erin`Marias twirls the lance around a little - bloody hell it's got some reach - before bringing it up, then down again in an overhead slash!
<PFP|Storyteller> The Lion barely even flinches at the stab from Singer and bats aside Erin's Dire Lance with a massive paw, growling low as it lunges at Singer, the first person to succeed in inflicting harm upon it, even though it was a neglible amount, she is deemed the greatest threat.
* Reyna_Malach skids to a halt, catching a flash of the action in the corner of her eye. Sighing, she frees her own weapon and charges the beast, managing a light slash at it's sides.
<AureusSila> In a moment of uncharacteristic bravery, Aureus starts shaping. Wind tearing at his robes, a slight wailing surrounding him as his eyes flare up in iridescent plumes of fire. "Here, kitty..."
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer cries out as those claws rake across her side, doing a significant amount of damage, spraying her blood all over the place and sending her flying before hitting the ground hard and rolling to her side, bleeding heavily.
* Lionel hearing the cry crawls out of the bush, before drawing his longbow and firing a target arrow at the Lion
* Melua stands on a branch, obscured in the foilage, and forms two long blades of light in her hands, waiting for an opportune moment to strike
* Erin`Marias preps for another attack and waits for an opening, circling a little.
* Mirage creeps out from under the bush, shifting back to human form and drawing his sword. He's going to help, really. Any time now.
<AureusSila> Aureus dashes closer, too close for comfort really, in an attempt to lock eyes with the lion. (Peacock Shadow Eyes, 10motes personal. Also, an automatic fail since the target isn't sentient :[ )
<PFP|Storyteller> The Lion roars and staggers back under Reyna's assault, preparing to attack again as Aureus runs right up to it, only to pause as a voice calls out, "That's enough." The voice comes from an incredibly handsome young man dressed in a snappy black coat, silver hair whipping lightly around his face, "My apologies, he's not usually such a brute. Urien, go back to patroling! Bad boy!" He gestures a finger and the massive bone lion slinks off, looking quite disappointed.
* Melua dispells the blades of light without being noticed and stays hidden in the trees
* Lionel lowers his bow slightly and gives the new arrival an evil look
* Melua also notes how very very cute this new guy is
* Erin`Marias keeps her guard up and turns to look at the newcomer, narrowing her eyes a little. Bit late to hide the spear, oh well.
* Mirage sheaths his sword and looks over the man curiously, crossing his arms. So much for getting the drop on the Abyssals. "I admit we didn't expect a welcoming party, Mister..."
* Reyna_Malach trots awkwardly back to what's left of the others on three limbs, the other still holding her blade.
* Lionel runs over to Singer, and prepares to use Accelerated Healing
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer remains lying on the ground, wheezing and bleeding heavily. The young man looks over the group and just smiles, "And I must admit, I wasn't expecting visitors today. It's common courtesy to call first, really." He says with an amused little grin, stepping towards Mirage and holding out a hand, "Seventh Scholar of the Sun. Just call me Seven."
<AureusSila> Aureus looked up at this stranger, his eyes flickering in bright flames before they die out. His heart was beating harder than ever before, and he couldn't move his legs.
* Melua heartthrobs in the trees <3
* Lionel closes his eyes as a blazing corona of light bursts forth from his body before coalescing into a snake form. As he reaches forward it slides forward, passing through singers body, healing as it goes.
* Reyna_Malach looks back and forth between her weapon and the new arrival. Visitors...? Sheepishly she puts it away, shrinking back.
* Mirage takes Seven's hand, bowing slightly. "We didn't particularly have a way to send a message ahead, I'm afraid. I hope it's not too crass of us. Speaking of crass..." He goes over to kneel besides Lionel, whispering. "Is she going to be okay?"
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer gasps as Lionel's essence flows into her, flesh knitting back together at an astounding rate, a hand moving to her side as she lets out a little whimper, "Oh lords.." She says, taking a shaking breath, "That was way too close..."
* Melua sighs silently and leans against the trunk, watching
* Erin`Marias hmphs slightly, keeping a close eye on Seven. She's slowwwwly relaxing, but still staying alert. Nothing to say, yet..
* Lionel looks at Mirage, a weary look in his eyes. "Yes, I have repaired what I can". Lionel sits heavily back and rubs his hand over his head
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven grins at Mirage and shrugs his shoulders slightly, "Not your fault. My associate and I typically aren't easy to contact... oh... hello Singer." He says, looking to the bloody Abyssal and greeting her with obvious recognition.
* Mirage nods and stands, turning to face Seven again. "So I have noticed," he says with a bit of acid, gesturing after the departed lion. One eyebrow lifts as he greets Singer. "You two know each other, it appears?"
<Lionel> The snake emerges from Singer's body before coming to rest coiled around Lionel. Its head turns to face Seven, and its tongue flicks nervously
* Lionel helps Singer to her feet. "I don't know what your other wounds are from, but I can't heal them, be careful" he whispers to her.
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer nods her head slowly, "I will." She mumbles, before looking to Lionel, and then finally noticing Seven, her expression becoming cold, "Seven. Fancy you being one of the rogue Deathknights." "Rogue is such a harsh word. I'm freelancing. Me and Tombs, we've had enough of that prick in Thorns. So, please introduce me to your friends... that girl hiding up in the tree seems lovely." He grins, turning his gaze up to Melua.
<Melua> Dropping out of the tree, Melua lands inches in ront of the deathknight, and smiles angelicly. "It's nice to meet you. My name is Melua Maia Mala. You have good eyesight."
* Mirage manages not to facepalm! So much for ace in the hole. Oh well.
* Mirage sighs and gestures at people in general. "Singer you know... this is Lionel, the shiny one over there is Aureus, Erin is the cute one with the spear..." And so on. "Look, I'm sorry for presuming upon you so rudely, but do you have somewhere we could put Singer up for a while? She still isn't looking that good..."
<AureusSila> Aureus slowly regained control of his body, straightening up just a little, staring at this newcomer. And then it struck him, that lion, this person must've made it, or summoned it or something, because it wasn't its own lion. The familiar sensation of holding your target's mind like moldable clay had been completely replaced with an empty feeling in his encounter with the lion. Aureus wanted a lion like that.
* Erin`Marias is cute? Well there's a thing. She'd probably blush, if she weren't still feeling a little like impaling something.
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven smiles warmly at Melua, gazing at her appreciatively and offering a polite little bow, "You flatter me, milady. The pleasure is all mine." He says, before looking to Mirage as he introduces all the other members of the circle, paying particular attention to Lionel's blazing anima, noting the black taint seething through it, "I'd be glad to offer you our hospitality, but I must ask, are you all Celestial Exalts?"
* Melua backed away with a twirl, giggling. "Now what kind of gentleman asks that on the first date?"
* Mirage grins and shrugs. "Probably!"
<AureusSila> Aureus slumps his shoulders. "I guess you wouldn't believe me if I told you I was a pirahna"
* Reyna_Malach frowns slightly at Melua.
* Lionel gives a slight grin at the theatrics of the others
* Erin`Marias muses as she starts to fold the lance up and rewrap it.
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer stares at Seven as he turns his attention back to Melua, grinning broadly, "Well if I've offended I mus-" He's cut off as Singer storms up to him and firmly slaps him, before stalking off. With a slightly more sombre expression Seven rubs his cheek, chuckling sheepishly, "As I said, I'd be delighted to offer you our hospitality. Please, follow me." He turns and starts walking, and after a short while they trees clear, spreading out into a wide road.
* Melua walks up to Seven. "I...um, I'm sorry. Did you two date...?"
* Mirage follows after Singer, not saying anything for once, just making sure she stays in sight.
* Lionel shrugs and follows in Singers wake
* Reyna_Malach follows a short distance behind Mirage, keeping pace easily.
* Lionel walks up to Reyna "Are you okay?" he asks
* Erin`Marias is going to follow Mirage and Singer too. She nearly got pasted once, let's make sure it doesn't happen again. Hopefully.
* Reyna_Malach looks up at Lionel "Should I not be?"
<AureusSila> Aureus puts on just enough pace to get pretty close to Seven. Was this person a necromancer then, or something else? He'd have to find out, sooner or later.
<Erin`Marias> (Go for the eyes, Boo! Go for the eyes!)
* Lionel raises his eyebrow "You were being chased by aa giant lion, I just wondered if you had been injured.. evidently not".
<PFP|Storyteller> "Not so much, but we've got something of a history." Seven replies to Melua, smiling at her. It doesn't take long to catch up to Singer, as she's not far down that road, staring wide-eyed and frozen in shock. It was easy enough for anyone with eyes to tell why. A mile or so down that road, a large, sprawling city is bustling with life and day-to-day business, with a massive soulsteel manse dominating the center of the city, "Welcome to our city." Seven says quietly.
<PFP|Storyteller> Session End.
<Mirage> OH SNAP.
* PinkFlowerPrincess changes topic to '[Exalted, 2nd Edition] Storyteller: PinkFlowerPrincess | Campaign: The Broken Throne | Current Events: Bone Lions can Fuck You Up(tm) and Melua loves silver-haired bishy-bois. | Total Exp: 28']

Edit: Also, it may sound silly, but could I get feedback from those reading the logs? It makes me feel better about it to get feedback. It lets me know that the effort I put into cleaning up the logs, *stripping out the timestamps, superfluous crap, joins and parts, etc) isn't a wasted effort, if people enjoy reading it.

It's fine as it is, how you're editing it. I mean, you could put the speech in italics, or something, to make reading easier, but the problem with that is, it would take so freakin' loooooooong to do. So keep editing it as it is, for your sake

Meh, there's scripts for that, If PFP wants to do such a thing, I could dig one up, it could make things like the name in bold, and the text in italics within seconds, if you configure it right.

As Imaillusion said, its fine as is, the above itallics suggestion would make it more or less prettier to read, maybe if I can find that script I mentioned, it could also be configured to make each players name have a different colour, makes for a easy way to spot which player is talking, or which player an action concerns
Nothing is forever. It can't be. 'Cause everyone changes.

It also lets me keep track of what happened in the last session, without having to trawl through a mountain of logs to get to it. Which is good :D .

If you do script it then my 2 cents would be a recommendation to bold names, italics actions and GM stuff, and leave chat as standard text.

Honestly, that'd probably get rather conflicting and hard to read. But I'll start bolding nicknames, to help them stand out. Next session's in a few days. In the meantime, I did an ultra-mini-session with Melua, here it is.

Session Log 3.5a (Melua Dreams)
<PinkFlowerPrincess> After his introduction, Seven lead the party through his city, told them of how he and his partner left Thorns to come here, and how many of the people who live in the city, both people and ghost, are refugees from Thorns, or those who were dissatisfied with life in Sijan. The name of the city is Elysium. He set the party up in an Inn, gave them a room, and said he'd come speak with them more tomorrow. Now, Melua finds herself in a graveyard late at night, dancing a slow dance with Seven holding her close, the sound of violins coming from somewhere nearby.
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Her mind is kind of fuzzy, she can't really seem to recall how she got there or why she's there.
<Melua> "...Pleasant night, though the location...is unique," Melua manages to say, trying to come to her senses
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Seven smiles a little, "Pleasant company, too..." He murmurs, the grass soft beneath their feet, the air moist and slightly foggy. The countinue to dance slowly, his face close to hers, "I have something to show you."
<Melua> Blushing and turning her face away for a moment, Melua took a small breath, and faced Seven. "You lose points in originality, but make up for it in delivery, Seven. And of course, shamelessly exploiting my curiosity~"
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Seven chuckles softly, leaning in to whisper into Melua's ear, "Look down."
* Melua glances down at their feet
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Seven's grip tightens around her almost painfully as she looks down. At their feet is grass, but a little to the left of them is a plaque, that reads "Here lies Melua Maia Mala" with an epitaph underneath, "She died as she lived - Like a whore".
* Melua opens her eyes with a jump, and curls into a fetal position, wrapping a blanket around herself. "Well, here's to another sunrise I get to watch alone, I guess..."
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Singer looks over to Melua and blinks, closing the book on her lap, "Bad dreams?" She asks softly. There were only two rooms at the Inn, though they're both fairly large. One is shared by the men, the other by the women.
<Melua> Jumping again, Melua flashed out of bed in nothing but her nightshirt, her hand around a dagger she pulled from under her pillow. "...Oh." Lowering the weapon, she sighed. "Yeah. Bad dreams."
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Singer's lips quirk slightly into an amused little smile as Melua leaps from bed wearing nothing but a nightshirt, setting her book aside and climbing out of her own bed, she steps over to Melua and gently pushes her back onto the bed, sitting beside her, "Go back to sleep, Melua. We've a long day ahead of us, and you need your rest." She murmurs.
<Melua> "I...I'd rather not. Not right now, anyway. What about you? There's no reason you should be up, really..."
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Singer sighs and gives a small shrug of her shoulders, "I don't get much in the way of sleep. I woke up a few hours ago, thought I'd catch up on my reading."
<Melua> "Reading?!" Melua quickly lowered her voice, then noticed the book Singer set aside. "Can I ask what? I love reading."
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Singer laughs faintly and shakes her head slightly, "I'm not entirely sure it's something that'd interest you. An old text about investigations into the Underworld, experiments in Necromancy, the properties of Ghosts and the Abyss... not really light reading."
<Melua> Melua shivers lightly, recollecting her dream. "Actually...that...that sounds interesting. Just...not so much right now."
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Singer nods her head slightly and raises a hand to brush her fingers soothingly through Melua's hair, sensing her distress over her dream, "Well, the sun will be rising soon. Shall we watch that together?"
<Melua> Calming down when touched, Melua shrugged a little uneasily. "Well, if it wouldn't weird you out or anything, sure, I guess..."
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Singer would offer Melua a smile, picking up the blanket and wrapping it around her shoulders, before leading her out quietly and down outside, sitting on a bench with her and looking up towards the brightening sky, not saying a word.

Another ultra-mini-session, another log.

Session Log 3.5b (Aureus meets Ancelin)
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Session start.
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Roughly around the same time Melua was being lead outside by Singer, Aureus finds himself sitting up suddenly in bed, his body slick with sweat, feeling distinctly uneasy. He vaguely remembers very vivid and violent dreams, but they're already fading. Of more immediate importance is the sight of a silver-haired man sitting on the end of Aureus's bed, staring at him intently.
<AureusSila> Aureus' eyes are wide open, pupils dilated. Something about this person seems eerily familiar to him. "What are you doing in my bed..?" The words leave his mouth almost without him noticing, and really a better question would be 'Who are you?' but for some reason that seems so strangely obvious yet out of his reach.
<PinkFlowerPrincess> The man on the end of Aureus' bed doesn't answer the question posed to him, tilting his head slightly and narrowing his eyes, "Hm. So you're the one who recieved my Exaltation, eh? I've gotta say, I'm disappointed." He observes with a sour expression, reaching out to try and grab Aureus's neck, only to have his hand pass right through him, "Ugh. Disappointing..."
<AureusSila> Aureus jerks backward violently at the touch. The feeling of the strangers hand is almost indescribable, like a memory lost deep within his soul just decided to lash out and fill his concious mind. Is this person a ghost? No of course not. What was that about an exaltation..? "You... Who am I?" No, those werent the words he meant to say, why'd they come out that way anyway?
<PinkFlowerPrincess> The man grins, "Ancelin is my name. Looks like Lytek's gotten slack in his old age, leaving so much of my soul attached to the Exaltation. Guess I'm part of you now, boy." He grabs at Aureus again, this time his hand snaring at Aureus's mind, his image starting to fade as his thoughts and Aureus's start to mingle and twist together, "Suits me just fine. I have a world to conquer."
<AureusSila> "Nnnnnh" Aureus freezes in place, incapable of reacting in any way as his mind is washed full of foreign memories and thoughts. The world shifts in perspective around him while the man in front of him slowly fades away. 'Ancelin is my name', that single sentence echos inside his head at growing intensity, building up to an overwhelming crescendo.
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Ancelin's image fades away completely, his thoughts, hundreds of years worth of memories and ambitions flooding Aureus's mind, threatening to overwhelm him in their intensity. Finally Aureus's mind clears some and he hears Ancelin's voice echo within his mind, "Not the most robust of vessels, but you'll do..."
<AureusSila> Aureus sits still, staring at the wall in front of him, only occasionally blinking his eyes. He can feel it, Ancelin's concious, far in the back of his own mind. His percetion's been altered too. He can't really tell how, it's a vague and complicated sort of feeling, but somehow it's like the word 'Mine' has been carved into everything around him, and truth be told the idea appeals to him.
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Aureus can almost see Ancelin's twisted grin, and perhaps would even find it mirrored upon his own face as the voice echos, "So, kid, are you going to help me take what's rightfully mine? Or are you going to make things difficult?"
<AureusSila> Ancelin's smirk on Aureus' face split into a wolflike grin. "Give me one good reason to why I'd give you all of this, when I could have it for myself?" He couldn't quell a strange chuckle. "No, you'll be the one to help me" The chuckling grows steadily into a quaking maniacal laughter, Aureus Síla has had a taste of real power, and now there's no turning back.
<PinkFlowerPrincess> Hehe. Session end.
Btw guys, the character list and etc. in the first post gets updated semi-regularly. I've added a list of important NPCs, and each so far has pictures. I just added a picture of The Gentleman.

Xia He, formerly of the dynastic house of Cathak.

Also known outside of the Realm as the "Ember Scorched Lotus".

Image

Bio:
History so far:

Xia He was born into a smaller yet very well off sub-family of the house of Cathak, a family known for its exceptional breeding. She had two older siblings at the time, both were twins and one had already Exalted, fire aspect of course. Her childhood was however an odd one. Since birth she had always been inquisitive at best, a trouble maker at worst. Generally this was never enough of a problem to warrant being sent to a school for the troublesome but it did exasperate her parents often.

Another sore subject for them was how she was leaning more towards socialite tendencies than military ones, their particular line always produced some of the best soldiers in the Realm. Her inquisitive streak made her speak to people often, questioning them about the truth of certain matters, poking her nose into business that wasn't hers. In an attempt to push her towards a military career at a younger age so that she'd transition better, in her off time she was trained personally by her father to fight in their private dojo. She found early on that she preferred flame pieces above all other weapons, attracted to their blasts of flame.

While surprised at her choice of weapon, her parents were ecstatic that she had found a niche in fighting that she enjoyed and encouraged her to practice with the weapons whenever she liked. By this time she was 10 years old and her parents were expecting her moment to exalt was soon. They were proven to be right, one day during target practice she kept pushing the speed of her reloading to faster and faster levels, breaking out into a sweat, her body was hot to the touch. Her father left her there to look for their personal nurse but as he came back a loud explosion was heard, as he rushed in he found the entire place consumed in flame... and his daughter standing in the center of it all, the flames coiling around her like a vortex but not touching her. She was chosen by the Elemental Dragon of Flame.

The next few years were just a blur, she went through the motions of a newly exalted Dragonblood. Despite her parents wishes she never did join the military but rather took part in various social intrigues. Mostly just sniffing out the bad eggs in the various other houses, but also often her own. This routinely got her in trouble however, so she wasn't exactly a favorite in most circles. Though she did enjoy a reputation for finding out the truth of a matter, so a few did come to seek her aid. She continued to sharpen her skills with the firewand over the years but found that there was only so much you could do with them. When she was 14 her little sister Da-xia was born, and much rejoicing was had.

However as time passed Xia found herself more and more annoyed with her fellows, more-so however with the Immaculate Order and its teachings, some of which she found brought more issues then good. She knew well of how easy it was to crush a mortal's life without killing them in the Realm and how despite the propaganda about the Realm being the most stable and safe place in Creation, people still got screwed there regularly. Furthermore the segregation of the Dragonblooded from the mortals made it hard or nearly impossible for her to help such people in need of aid or justice.

But the final straw came when her sister Da-xia somehow exalted as one of the anathema rather then as one of the dragonblooded, refer to Da-xia's bio for the circumstances around her exaltation, capture, and rescue.

Xia He, disgusted with how her sister was now considered a monster despite the fact she was only a child, and with all her frustration towards the Realm and the Immaculate Order, fled from the Blessed Isle, taking her sister in tow across the Realm and the sea towards the east. On their own now, Xin He decided it was time to expand upon the only fighting skills she possessed, and after some searching found a Sifu in the Golden Exhalation style. After a year passed she had learned enough to survive now in a much harsher world. Her Sifu feeling sympathetic towards her plight and having no love for the Realm, gave her a parting gift. Two well crafted Plasma Tongue Repeaters.

But she was not idle during that year, she had also gotten in touch with her many contacts she had made over seas while still in the Realm, and had discovered a reasonably powerful manse that supplied her with her hearth stone. And since leaving her Sifu she has taken to traveling with her sister and taking up random investigation jobs. A new chapter in her life had begun.
Description:
Physical appearance: Stands at a height of 5 feet 10 inches. Has shoulder length pink hair and bright golden eyes. Her hair shade is somewhat darker then her sister's. Has an athletic build.

Combat outfit:
Around the lower part of her neck is a thin black jade choker with a hearthstone setting in the center, with two black ribbons trailing off from underneath it. In the setting is a stone that looks much like a glowing coal and is warm to the touch.

For a top she wears a plain black tube top with thin straps, lined with red lace.
Over that she wears a thick light tan leather jacket which has red, incredibly ornate flower pattern embroidery sewn all over the outside of it. The collar of it is overturned towards the outside showing a darker brown interior. The edges of the sleeves are lined with red lace frills that faces towards the outside. She also wears black fingerless gloves over her hands.

For bottom, she wears comfortable dark brown cargo pants and leather riding/combat boots, the pants are tucked into the boots so when the pants end the top of the boots immediately begin. Over that she wears a short open front skirt made from the same light tan leather material as her jacket, including the red embroidery as well, and a pair of crossed belts with a red jade buckle. The belts have holsters for her guns attached.

A journal entry of sorts based on my private introduction session I had with the DM. WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD.
Portfolio entry for subject: City Elysium.
Author: Ember Scorched Lotus

I'll keep it brief and just note down the things of interest about the city and the plot I've uncovered.

First of all there's a temple where ghost blooded, ghosts, and necromancers work. In addition to providing services for the dead and offering direct access to lethe, they also offer some service where people can offer their bodies up after death for use in necromancy, mainly for raising as zombies or building necromantic war machines.
Disturbingly they apparently do so willingly out of fear that the city of Thorns will attack and destroy them all. I've talked with the populace and while I cannot confirm if they are giving up their own corpses at this time, I can confirm there is a fear about this place of attack from Thorns.
Finally this temple also acts as a place of worship for ... the Unconquered sun. Yes you read that correctly, apparently their creed is "Only in light can shadows thrive". This warrants further investigation later.

In the market place the only things I've found of interest is a Guild Hall and a few stands selling minor artifacts and artifact trinkets for a surprisingly low price, if the reader is interested in such things. I contacted the guild there and got information relating to the lord of this city, who I will refer to as "Seven". A deathknight necromancer and crafter, he's apparently attempting to raise a dead behemoth in this area, the one that caused this very shadowland in fact. Apparently he intends to use it to hold off or even invade thorns maybe.

I visited the library later and looked for information about this behemoth and found a considerable amount actually. I kinda wish I didn't. Apparently it was vicious and impossible to control, the Twilight who created this manse to hold it died during the process of stopping the damned thing. This brings to question Seven's motives. Does he really think he can control this beast? If so I think he's dangerously overestimating his own power. If not, he's not such a nice guy after all and just intends to let it rampage and kill ... and kill and kill some more, probably never to be stopped.

Their army is fairly healthy, it's lead by a deathknight whom I'll call "Tombs". He pilots a personal bonestrider made for him by Seven. There's a squad or so of smaller frames. And a fairly sizable army of soldiers and zombies. Tombs seems pretty serious about drilling these guys.

All else is minor but there's also a location enclosed here of a safe Inn that'll stay quiet for a fee. That's all for now.

Another day, another log. Enjoy, guys.

Session Log 4
<PFP|Storyteller> Session 4, activate!
<PFP|Storyteller> With exception of the occurances with Melua and Aureus, the rest of the night passed rather uneventfully after the circle was deposited at the Inn. The next day, fairly early in the morning, Seven approached the Inn with a pair of Ghost-Blooded bodyguards trailing behind him on either side. He turned his gaze to Melua and Singer, sitting on the bench outside the Inn, and raises a hand, coming to a stop, his bodyguard's doing the same, "Good morning, ladies." He said with a charming smile. Singer's response was a roll of her eyes, "Sure."
<Melua> Smiling back, Melua nodded politely. "Thank you very much for the accomidations last night."
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven's bows his head slightly, "Your thanks are welcome, but not required. It's my pleasure to have you in my humble city." He said, waving the bodyguards away and approaching her casually, "I was hoping you and your companions would like to join me for breakfast, so we can discuss just what brings you here."
* Erin`Marias has cracked open one of the upstairs windows, and is looking down into the street from the upper floor... watching Seven, Melua and Singer with idle curiousity.
<Melua> "I certainly can't say for the others, but I, at least, gladly accept, since I have some questions for you, as well."
<PFP|Storyteller> While this is happening, Ember hears someone banging on the door to her room at the Inn she's staying at. Da-xia yawns and rubs her eyes, sitting up, "Who'd come around so early?" She mumbles.
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven smiles brightly, "I'm glad to hear it. I do so enjoy having inquisitive minds about. Well then, I suppose I should go and wake the other members of your group." He give a nod to them both and moves to head into the Inn. Singer snorts, "What a prat..."
* Lionel is sat in the bar downstairs, reading.
<_Ember_> Ember already long up motions to Deze to stay put. And approaches the door. "yes?"
<PFP|Storyteller> "It's Tombs. I need a word with you." Came a voice on the other side of the door, gruff and straight-forward.
<Melua> Melua prods Singer, grinning. "Okay, what's the secret? No girl has the right to be gloomy after a smile like that."
<_Ember_> Ember sighed, stepped over to Deze quietly and whispered. "Stay here, I'll be back shortly hopfully" and then stepped back towards the door and opened it.
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven pauses at the sight of Lionel, nodding to him slightly, "You're the doctor, aren't you? Twilight Caste, if I'm not mistaken after seeing your light show, yesterday. You and your companions have been invited to join me for breakfast. Perhaps you'd like to get them?"
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer looks to Melua and smiles faintly, giving a small shrug of her shoulders, "We have a history. He works for the Mask of Winters, I... don't. We crossed paths a few times."
* Mirage sweeps in through the door leading to the rooms, immaculately dressed. "Did I hear someone mention breakfast? I hope it's more appetizing than the last meal we had in a Shadowland..."
* Lionel closes his book before looking up at seven 'Good morning, I will join you, yes.'
<Melua> Catching Singer's tone, Melua frowned. "So, what's your estimate of him? Of all this?"
* Lionel grins at Mirage 'Probably not hard..'
* Erin`Marias turns away from the window and finishes getting dressed, then heads downstairs now that things seem to be picking up a bit. She makes her way over to Lionel and Seven, watching the latter carefully. "Come to talk, eh?"
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven smiles brightly, "Excellent!" He exclaims, clapping his hands and then turning his attention to Mirage, offering a grin, "Hah! Don't worry about the food, friend. My geomancers have had some small successes manipulating Shadowlands that can grow edible crops, but for the moment we import most of our food from Sijan and other nearby towns." He turns his gaze to Erin, "Come to offer an invite to breakfast, actually. There may be some talking involved."
* Mirage grins back and rubs his hands together. "Excellent. I await with bated breath, if only for someone new to talk to. I wouldn't mind the chance to admire this fastincating city of yours, either. Is it new? One would think that we would have heard news of it in Sijan."
* Erin`Marias looks mildly unconvinced, and glances at Mirage... figures she'll let him do the talking for now.
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer frowns a little and shakes her head, "He's hard to get a read on. But if he's really betrayed Winters as he claims, then he's either feeling very confident, or very ambitious, and either one of those could have negative connotations."
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven chuckles a little, "We've been slowly building for two years. Some people in Sijan know of us, mostly our suppliers, but most are uneasy of this Shadowlands, and don't wonder much at those who come up here."
<Melua> "So...you suspect this is probably as bad news as your friend in Sijan claimed, Singer?"
<PFP|Storyteller> Tombs looks at Ember and crosses his arms, glancing past her, "You may as well bring your sister. Seven wants to meet you. Both of you." Da-xia blinks and looks to Ember.
<AureusSila> Aureus Síla lies in his bed, staring intensely at the ceiling. He's been unable to sleep, the world suddenly been so filled with possibilities, or opportunities if you'd like. The lack of sleep is getting to him, just a little, and there are faint dark circles under his eyes. More obvious though, is the wide grin pasted across his face.
<PFP|Storyteller> "I honestly don't know what to suspect, but I don't trust him." Singer replies to Melua, standing up slowly.
* Mirage nods slowly. "I see... Well, fair enough. And good morning to you as well, Erin. Do you know if any of the others are awake?"
* Erin`Marias nods to Lionel. "Singer and Melua are outside... I think they woke up early for some reason." A little official-sounding there. "I don't know about the others."
<_Ember_> Ember blinks. "... Alright I'll come, but I've been good, for what does he want to meet with me for?" she motioned Da-xia to get up.
* Lionel smiles at Erin in response. 'sleep well?'
<Erin`Marias> "Well enough."
<Melua> Standing up as well, she sighed dramatically. "My life used to be simple before my Second Breath, even if it did suck. I guess we should just go ask him at breakfast."
<PFP|Storyteller> Tombs grunts and shrugs his shoulder, "Don't ask me. I'm just the messenger." Da-xia eyes the deathknight uneasily, pushing up off the bed and smoothing out the front of her dress, stepping up beside Ember.
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer nods in agreement with Melua, smiling a little. Seven looks to Erin, then to Mirage and Lionel, "Perhaps someone should go wake the others? It seems like it would be rude for me to do so myself."
<_Ember_> "lead the way then." She had no reason to make the Deathknight wait due to already having been dressed in her standard combat/traveling clothes and having her guns at her sides.
* Lionel nods, and stands to go upstairs.
<Lionel> - (who is upstairs btw?)-
<PFP|Storyteller> (Aureus.)
* Lionel knocks on the women's door, before opening the door to his room 'Ah, Aureus, time for breakfast, you coming?'
<PFP|Storyteller> Tombs would nod, not speaking further, leading Ember out of the Inn and towards the main street, leading her up in the direction of the Soulsteel manse that dominates the center of the city.
<_Ember_> Ember follows, keeping her sister close.
<AureusSila> Aureus hides his grin with a fake yawn before sitting up. "Oh, Lionel, it's morning already? I'll be right down, just let me get dressed"
* Lionel nods, before looking at the other door. 'must all be out already' he mutters to himself, before walking downstairs.
<PFP|Storyteller> Tomb leads her up into the Soulsteel manse, a faint sense of unease washing over Ember as she crosses the threshold. Da-xia shivers and grabs Ember's hand, "Xia, this place is bad..." She murmurs. They get lead into a large dining room, a long table set out, ready for a meal to be served. Zhochen is already seated there. Tombs steps away, "Seven will be here shortly."
* Erin`Marias nudges Mirage in the side slightly. "You sure you're awake?"
* Mirage jerks a little more upright, eyes opening again. "Yes! Totally. Of course. Why do you ask?" He gestures at Singer and Melua. "What about you two? I wouldn't have pegged you as early birds, generally..."
<_Ember_> Ember glanced around looking for anyone else ... or somthing else, then took a seat along the side having her sister take one next to her. She looked towards the other man in the room. "Well ... at least I know I'm not the only one summoned then."
* Zhochen_Ansol is sitting at the table, one leg crossed over the other. His arms are folded, but he looks not so much displeased as much as bored. As the Ember-Scorched Lotus of the East walks in, he raises an eyebrow. "Hello there."
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven looks to Mirage and chuckles a little, "I realise it is a little early. Apologies for waking you."
* Erin`Marias smirks, a little. "Up all night daydreaming, I bet."
<AureusSila> Aureus kicks his legs over the side of the bed and gets up, grabbing his robes and worming his way into them. He gives his face and hair a quick look-over in a mirror, grimacing in disgust at the sight of his feminine features before heading downstairs.
<_Ember_> She props her head up on one fist. "Hi."
<Zhochen_Ansol> "I see that we're finally going to get use out of all these place settings. Fair enough." He stands up and bows cordially. "I am Zhochen Ansol. Please refrain from calling me Zo. So you're the breakfast guests that this town's head mentioned?"
<Melua> Shrugging, Melua leans against the door. "I usually try to get up before anyone notices I was there, call it a survival habit."
<PFP|Storyteller> Da-xia claims the seat next to Ember, blinking at Zhochen and smiling a cute, nervous little smile, waving her hand slightly.
* Mirage hmph. "Kept up all night by the snoring coming from the next room over," he grumbles. He just gives Melua a right-sure-really look. "Good habit to have, I suppose."
* Zhochen_Ansol nods at Da-xia.
<_Ember_> "I guess, I was just told to come, Seven wished to speak with me. My sister's just coming along because I can't leave her alone, despite my feelings about taking a child into a death manse. Name's Ember Scorched Lotus, you can call me Ember if you like."
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer stands aside from the conversation, just eying Seven warily. She looks to Mirage at that question, blinking once, "I don't sleep much."
* Erin`Marias rolls her eyes slightly. "Probably Reyna." She nods a belated greeting to Melua and Singer.
<Zhochen_Ansol> "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ember. What brings you to this town, anyway?"
<AureusSila> Aureus comes half-skipping down the stairs, smiling just a bit too much. "Good morning, everyone" He takes note to Seven being there, a pleasant surprise if nothing else.
<_Ember_> It took a second for Ember to come up with an appropriate response without giving herself away. "...business" She said flatly.
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven looks to Aureus as he comes downstairs, nodding his head to him, "And the Sorcerer who tried bewitching my Bone Lion. Excellent, that seems like everyone, shall we go then? I'd hate to leave my other guests waiting any longer than necessary."
* Mirage is already halfway out the door before Aureus hits the ground. "All right then let's go we don't want to insult our dear host here by letting breakfast get cold wait other guests?"
<PFP|Storyteller> Da-xia looks from her sister to Zhochen and back again, fidgeting nervously, "I'm Da-xia..." She introduces herself in a quiet voice, tilting her head a little as she looks at him.
<Zhochen_Ansol> Zhochen nods. "Business. Everyone has business here, of a sort." He takes a seat back at the table and leans in, comfortably, and smiles to Da-xia. "Hello there, Da-xia."
* Zhochen_Ansol puts his elbows on the table in front of him, steeples his fingers, and rests his nose on the top of his knuckles.
<AureusSila> With one corner of his mouth shooting up considerably more than the other, Aureus skips up next to Seven. "About that! How does that thing work anyway? It was really cool!"
<_Ember_> "I do hope whoever we're waiting on hurries up. I hate the atmosphere here, makes my skin crawl."
* Lionel chuckles at Aureus, before moving to leave.
* Erin`Marias heads after Mirage, giving him a little nudge to keep going or at least stand aside if he's blocking the doorway. "We'll find out when we get there, I guess."
<Zhochen_Ansol> "You're quite right. Try living here for a while." His eyes rotate to the left. "You don't really get used to it, but sometimes you just have to deal with things you dislike. There are worse things out there."
<Erin`Marias> (Like Bone Lions!)
<Zhochen_Ansol> (jesus christ it's a bone lion get in the warstrider)
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven chuckles a little, looking to Melua and then to Aureus as that question is asked, leading the group out of the Inn and towards his manse, "Necromancy, little Sorcerer. It works through necromancy."
* Mirage heads on out, walking slowly in the direction of the manse until Seven catches up and leads the way. "I suppose we will," he agrees, somewhat begrudgingly.
<_Ember_> "Well I wasn't meaning the shadowland, it itself is unpleasent but this particular building ... somthing worse."
<AureusSila> "Really? You know I think I have a book on that but I can't read it to save my life" Aureus shrugs and sighs. "It's a shame because it seems like a really interesting subject, you know! What language is it typically written in anyway?"
* Zhochen_Ansol keeps his eyes rotated to the left. "I know."
<PFP|Storyteller> "We can discuss that later, I think." Seven says to Aureus as he leads the group into his manse and then into the dining room, claiming the seat at the head of the table and gesturing for everyone to take a seat, "Breakfast will be served shortly. Apologies for making you wait, Zhochen. Ember, I see you made it without any trouble. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. And you too, Da-xia."
* Zhochen_Ansol suddenly feels a massive impulse to grin, but resists. His front incisors haven't been brushed in a while. Nor have his canines. In fact, his front right canine needs to have a bit of a filing down. His premolars are in good shape, as are his molars.
* Zhochen_Ansol , however, is overall quite pleased with his teeth.
* Zhochen_Ansol stands up. "It's quite all right, Seven. You've brought quite a lot of guests to breakfast today! I suppose we're going to finally get some use out of the rest of the seats at the table." He bows to the remainder of the group. "I am Zhochen Ansol, scribe and councilmember of the workings of the city of Elysium."
<_Ember_> Ember eyed each of the new people entered the room, then stared out into space.
<Melua> Upon being led into the room, Melua stayed near door, covertly pulling a knife from her belt, suddenly vary wary of being led into a trap.
* Erin`Marias sniffs at the air and grumbles something about dragonsomethings before they're lead into the dining room, taking in the faces of the others already present, taking a seat.
* Mirage bows to Zhochen, Ember and Da-xia as he sweeps in. "Ah, other guests! Please, no need to rise. I am Mirage, your humble servant." This last seems mostly directed at Ember and Da-xia. "These are my noble and trustworthy comrades, and Aureus, who is too curious for his own good."
* Lionel sits down at the table, and smiles warmly at the others. 'Good morning'
<_Ember_> Ember idly waved her hand in a "hi" sort. "Ember scorched lotus of the east, ember for short." She nodded her head towards Da-xia "This is my sister."
<AureusSila> Aureus half-glares at Mirage, feeling rather slighted at the whole being brushed-aside deal, and he's really not in the mood to be the subject of teasing. He turns to look at the people who were waiting in the room. There's this one guy with a canine that needs a filing, there's a woman with a pair of guns and- Hello, that last girl is really very cute.
<_Ember_> (Uh, brainfart, cut off "Of the east" herpaderp)
<Zhochen_Ansol> "It's a pleasure to meet you and your comrades. Seems like you've traveled far to arrive at our city." He sits back down at the table and goes back to steepling his fingers as a bipod for his nose.
<Lionel> (gendopose!)
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer remains by Melua's side, watching Seven and the new people warily. Seven looks towards Melua and lofts a brow, "Please, take a seat. I see Mirage has kindly handled the introductions for your half, at least." He gestures towards Zhochen, "This is my compatriot, Zhochen, Chronicler of the local council and Eclipse Caste Solar," then he gestures to Ember and Da-xia, "And these two lovely ladies are Ember and Da-xia, who seem to have a habit of of snooping around. Fortunately, I'm also quite a snooper, and it's come to my attention that they're both Exalts as well." He gestures back to the other party, "Never before have I been graced by the company of so many of the Sun's Chosen at once."
* Zhochen_Ansol continues examining his teeth with his tongue. _Dammit. Need to brush after breakfast. That stupid space between my molars is acting up again, and if there's chicken or beef, I know I'm going to get food stuck in that space._
* Zhochen_Ansol raises a hand again at the mention of his name.
<_Ember_> Ember's eyes widened with shock, but then she just placed her hand on her forehead and sighed in a dispaired tone. "Well ... that's just great."
<PFP|Storyteller> Da-xia looks at all the new people, her gaze lingering a little on Aureus, and she'd offer him a shy littl smile, waving before looking up as Seven mentions her name.
* Melua sheathes her knife, subtly, and merely moves to a position a little behind Mirage respectfully, looking innocuous. She does, however, give a look to Singer and Seven not to say anything about it.
* Mirage sits across from Ember and Da-xia, spending a mote to make his caste mark glow cranking the Appearance Excellency up to 5 for a moment as he leans forward and smiles at them. "Ah, snoops, my favorite. It is a pleasure to meet you both... are you both Chosen of the Sun, then?" He turns to Seven. "Your city attracts such interesting people."
* Zhochen_Ansol groans audibly and double facepalms.
<_Ember_> Ember kept her mouth shut tight. SHe wasn't going to say a word.
<AureusSila> Aureus gives Da-Xia a small beaming smile back. She seemed like a timid and nice girl.
* Erin`Marias leans back and folds her arms, watching Mirage, Ember and Zhochen intently, occasionally glancing at the others, especially Seven. Paranoid? Not at all!
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven smirks a litte as Mirage flares his caste mark and looks to the other members of the group who were being significantly less forward, "Yes, it seems it does. I'm fortunate to find myself surrounded by so many new faces." Da-xia meanwhile has her attention drawn away from Aureus, staring at Mirage and blushing brightly, "It's a pleasure to meet you too." She says softly.
<Zhochen_Ansol> "So, Seven! Would you like to get everyone seated and down to..." His eyes rotate over to Ember. "...business?"
<_Ember_> "You can show them your "mark" if you like Deze, they're less likely to hurt you." She rubbed her temples.
<PFP|Storyteller> Da-xia looks to Ember, blinking, before looking back to the group and letting her caste mark glow upon her forehead.
* Zhochen_Ansol's eyes widen a bit. "Fascinating."
<AureusSila> Aureus makes his way across to the chair next to Da-Xia and pulls it out. "You don't mind, I hope? It's refreshing to be around someone in my own age group"
<_Ember_> Ember looked out of the corner of her eye at Aureus, if she could transmit a sentance with a look, it'd be "Hands off boy"
* Mirage grins at Da-xia, then leans back and does a sort of faux Gendopose at Ember. "And why would we be likely to hurt you, Lady Ember?" he asks curiously. He doesn't seem to have actually registered Zhochen's presence yet.
* Zhochen_Ansol is totally okay with that.
* Erin`Marias raises a brow slightly as Da-Xia displays her caste mark. [One that young...?] She looks visibly caught off guard for a moment, but quickly recovers, turning to look at Ember. Not exactly a dangerous or threatening look, mostly wary, honest.
* Zhochen_Ansol leans back in his chair and begins tapping his foot.
<_Ember_> Ember did her best to ignore Mirage despite the overwhelming pressure being put on her from all sides.
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven looks to those still standing and furrows his brows, "Well then, now that we've gotten past introductions, let me get right down to business. All of you, bar my friend Zhochen here, came here to investigate my fair city. So, this is your opportunity to ask me questions. But first, a question of my own. Who sent you, and why?"
<Lionel> (brb a few minutes, Lionel watches and listens for now.)
* Melua idly wishes she had a notepad to record all of this free information
<_Ember_> Ember sighed again. "Well no use hiding then but I don't have much to say. I was hired via proxy, don't know who my current employer is. He just wanted information about this place, nothing specific just told me to gather information."
* Mirage's memory is perfect and flawless, enshrined in chatlogs. He needs no notebook. "Oh, we merely dug up stories and rumors about this Manse and upon asking around it seemed unattended. We thought we would drop in and explore, but it seems like our information is a tad out of date." He grins at Ember. "Apparently we should have hired you instead of rummaging around libraries and such."
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven frowns darkly as he hears Mirage's words, his expression becoming rather forboding, not his usual charming self at all, "I can appreciate many things. I have no tolerance for evasion or deception, however. The truth, if you please."
* Zhochen_Ansol's eyebrows raise.
* Erin`Marias casts a glance at Mirage, then at Seven. [Well, there goes Plan A...]
* Mirage frowns to himself. "Truth... truth... shit. What was the truth again?" He turns to the group at large. "Would someone else like to field this one?"
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven sighs and turns to Melua, offering her one of his ever so charming smiles, inclining his head slightly, "Perhaps you can tell me what brings you here, Melua?"
<AureusSila> Aureus rolls his eyes and sits down in the chair next to Da-Xia. "Always with the stories, sometimes I worry that you're a compulsive liar, Mirage"
* Mirage hmph's. "I am not!" He doesn't even bother spending motes on that one.
<AureusSila> "Of course not, maybe you just have an overactive imagination and are delusional" Aureus smiles mischievously.
<Melua> Throwing up her hands in an annoyed fashion, Melua snorts. "Yes. The truth is, some wormfood ghost with less than half a brain left decided to tell us that some deathknights were trying to get something that'd end the world. Of course, he was dead, I don't know why he'd care. ANYWAY so we decided, at least -I- decided, we'd try to steal it. I mean first of all, it's probably really really cool, second of all, I'm sure someone would pay something for it. But then we found all this, so my plan was scrapped."
* Zhochen_Ansol blinks.
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven blinks also, taking a moment to digest all that before clearing his throat, "Well then, I imagine you're somewhat surprised by what you found instead. As to this end of the world, business... well, I wouldn't know anything about that." He smiled, sitting back on his chair, "Well, that was truth enough. Does anyone have any questions for me?" He asks as a soulsteel and bone automaton with an exquisitely life-like face crafted of white jade steps into the room, setting trays of food upon the table. Eggs, fruits of all sorts of variety, bacon, soups... a very wide selection of dishes, indeed, all of which smell delicious.
* Mirage eyes the automaton warily, drumming his fingers together as he thinks. "Noph," he decides at last, tucking into breakfast.
* Zhochen_Ansol grabs some food off the trays. "You'll be surprised at the quality of the fruit." He raises a strawberry. "Really, at the quality of anything. But you get used to it." He grabs some more fruits of various types and a pastry and begins consumption.
<Melua> Melua walked around to the automaton, all but getting in its way as she examined it. "Can I keep it?"
<_Ember_> Ember ignored the food and looked to Seven. "I'm curious what I did to catch your attention."
* Mirage raises an eyebrow at Ember, then eyes Seven with a smirk. "I could make one or two guesses," he suggests, nibbling on a strawberry. "Perhaps better to hear it from the man himself though."
* Zhochen_Ansol rolls his eyes and chews on a variety of foodstuffs.
<_Ember_> Ember glared at Mirage out through the corner of her eye.
<AureusSila> "Well, an apple a day" Aureus says and grabs one before turning to Da-Xia. "Nice to meet you, by the way" He holds his right hand out.
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven would actually laugh at that question from Melua, giving a small shrug of his shoulders, "It's just a service automaton. I'm not sure how useful it would be to you. I could craft another for you, however, if you wish. I have the jade to spare." He says. Then he looks to Ember at that question, lofting a brow, "One of my men saw you snooping around. I assigned him to snoop back, but otherwise not interfere."
* Mirage turns to Zhochen. "The strawberries are indeed excellent... what brings you here then, Mister...?"
<_Ember_> "Hmm, and what did he find? I can already take a guess but I'd like to at least know what the infractions I commited are."
* Erin`Marias errs on the side of caution, at the same time not wanting to appear -too- rude. Not even Willpower 8 can resist a slice or two of bacon in the face of suspicion, it seems.
<Melua> "I...I would be interested in such a proposition, yes, Seven." Melua moves to the other side of the robot to look some more.
<Zhochen_Ansol> "Zhochen Ansol. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mirage." He would offer a hand, but instead waves his fork in a circle, as he's eating. "Honestly speaking, I've just been... wandering around, sealing deals, making peace. I found this place, and it turns out, as far as I can tell, he's been hosting refugees from Thorns." He puts a fork down and leans back. "I appreciate that, and have been trying to help the people of the local city as much as possible. I figure it's a good use of my skills."
* Zhochen_Ansol picks up his fork and points it at Mirage again. "I must admit though, I've been feeling itchy about getting out of here, but I don't know anyone who has my skill set. Plus, it's really a fascinating place to be at."
<PFP|Storyteller> The robot would turn its head to inspect Melua in response to that inquisitive stare, shuffling a little to the side and finishing laying out the trays of food, before turing to leave. Seven plucks up a few plums and takes a bite from one, pointing towards Ember, "Infractions? Poking around asking questions doesn't break any laws. As to what my companion learned about you, well... almost every detail of your life, really. My friend has a great many contacts in the Realm. The Immaculate Order are still looking for your sister, by the way, but fortunately they are unfamiliar with the name you go by, out here in the Threshold."
<_Ember_> At that Ember looked towards her food, clinching her teeth. "Can't a girl have any secrets anymore? At least they don't know my alias ... gods damned immaculate bastards. Can't they just leave a child alone?"
<PFP|Storyteller> Da-xia looks to Aureus and smiles, taking his hand and shaking it softly, "Nice to meet you too." She murmurs politely, tilting her head slightly.
* Mirage raises an eyebrow. "Oh now? I must admit I'm surprised that refugees from Thorns would choose to end up in another Shadowland... Sounds like a decent job though. Training one's replacement is always tricky."
<Zhochen_Ansol> "Honestly, I was surprised too. I had my suspicions. I've been here for a while, though, and the people really are just quite happy to be alive. The conditions here are a damned sight better than Thorns." He turns to Erin and points at one of the ham cuts. "That stuff's good, by the way."
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven offers Ember a faint reassuing smile, "If it will make you feel better, the last place they were looking for you was significantly further South. They have no idea where you are, at the moment." He then looks to Zhochen and Mirage, smirking a little, "Most of these people have grown accustomed to it, and many of them have family who continue on as ghosts. It's easier for them to stay... in touch, here in a Shadowland. And easier for me to protect them."
* Erin`Marias polishes off one slice and turns her gaze to Ember. "To them, anathema are anathema. No matter who the person really is." She states plainly, leans back a bit, and shakes her head to Zhochen in a silent 'I'm fine, thanks.'
<_Ember_> Ember leaned back. "Yeah ... I know that all too well. It's also the ultimate reason why I figured they were full of shit."
* Zhochen_Ansol nods at Seven. "He's quite right. The first time I saw that happening, I was quite moved. Granted - sometimes letting go's a bit better. But when some haven't finished up their various dues yet, it's good to be able to come back and finalise everything."
<Mirage> "Quite happy to be alive... hmm, except those who aren't, presumably." He rests his elbows on the table, turning to Seven. "And well then, why is this city here at all, if I may ask? It couldn't have been easy or cheap to create, and in such a short time. I could imagine a scholar and gentleman such as yourself seeking somewhere quiet and out of the way, but this is rather more."
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven takes another bite of that plum and nods his head slightly, "That's a good question. Truth be told, this manse offers me a place I can study in peace. And I generally don't handle the affairs of the city personally, though Zhochen and others keep me appraised of the actions of the Council. And frankly, there's something of interest to me, here in this forest."
<AureusSila> "So, you're from the realm?" Aureus asks Da-Xia. "I've never met alot of people from there, strangely, but I'm pretty interested in the culture" As an afterthought he adds "Especially the language" in Low Realm with just a tiny bit of an accent.
<_Ember_> Ember remained silent, pondering over the news of the immaculates, wondering how far they'd have to go to escape them forever, or if there was a place they could go where they could not hurt them. She was no where near strong enough to fight a wyld hunt on her own.
<Melua> Still pestering the robot, Melua spoke up. "Actually, I met an Immaculate monk once. One of the most decent people I've ever met, and he helped me out even though it took up quite a bit of his time that day. Never thought Exalts would bother talking to a mere woman, and a mortal at that. It's actually one of the more signifigant events in my life."
<_Ember_> "The same could be said for any group." Ember let out with a bit of a hiss.
<PFP|Storyteller> Da-xia smiles a little as she hears Aureus speaking to her in Low Realm, slipping into that more familiar language easily, "I can't say much for the culture, personaly, but then, they tried to kill me, so perhaps that spoils my memories of home a little..."
<PFP|Storyteller> The robot seems to be almost uneasy with Melua, stepping from one side to another, trying to step around her as she continues pestering at it.
* Erin`Marias finishes off the second slice and shrugs a little to Melua. "There's always exceptions, mmm..." Her tone is a bit friendlier than the one she used to talk to Ember. "...good amongst the bad, bad amongst the good..." She trails off into thought of some of the other Lunars she's met, or heard about.
<AureusSila> A fleeting thought of conquering the realm and have all dragonbloods kneel before him passes through Aureus' mind. "I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe one day, we can correct the faults in their way of thinking. It doesn't make sense to want to kill a person with such a pleasant personality"
<_Ember_> Ember sighed. "So ... I assume you're all either sun, moon, or death choosen?"
<PFP|Storyteller> Da-xia would blush at that, looking down and letting some of her pale pink hair fall down to cover her face, "You're flattering me." She mumbles shyly. Seven looks to the others in the group, "Any more questions you'd like to ask? How about regarding the Behemonth? Come on, I know at least one of you is itching to know."
* Zhochen_Ansol blinks. "What behemoth?"
* Mirage just raises an eyebrow at Aureus, giving him a "Wow some Twilight you are" look.
<_Ember_> Ember appreciated the new topic, feeling nervious around all these exalts who'd probably sooner kill her. "I may..."
<AureusSila> Aureus catches Mirage's look and sticks his tongue out in a quick grimace as response. "It's not flattery, really, you just seem like a really nice girl" He takes a bite out of the apple, which he hopes will keep Lionel away.
* Lionel smirks at Aureus
* Mirage sighs and rolls his eyes at Aureus. "Kids. All right, fine. Do tell us about this Behemoth, Seven. Curiousity about that is one of the reasons I'm here, certainly. The thought had crossed my mind that perhaps you're looking for revenge on Mask of Winters for something or another, but capable though you no doubt are, you can't imagine you'd succeed."
<_Ember_> "I'm more curious how you intend to controll it, it was unstoppible and the twilight who killed it died during the process."
<Zhochen_Ansol> "Actually, Seven. Since we're speaking on topics like that - I had two questions for you and a bit of a something. I was minding my own business in town and suddenly found myself being followed by someone. He gave me this." He reaches into his pocket and drops a green jade broach in the shape of a ring on his clean plate.
<_Ember_> She looked at Mirage again through the corner of her eye due to them both asking near at the same time.
* Erin`Marias casts her glance to Seven at mention of the Behemoth, watching intently as ever. [Behemoth, eh?] Then Mirage speaks up. [Oh, that's going to go down well.]
<Zhochen_Ansol> "Do you know who could have possibly given me this, and what this is?"
* Melua continues stalking the robot while responding to Ember's earlier comment. "Actually, I'm just a normal girl around for the ride; apparently Anathema aren't that bad, despite the Immaculate Dragon's teachings. I'm more of a servant girl with exceptional skills. They've let me join them, graciously."
<_Ember_> "YOu're so full of shit"
<_Ember_> She snerked that at Melua
<Melua> Standing up, Melua frowned at the Terrestial. "Look, just because you've lived a better life than me doesn't mean you have to insult me, Dragon-blessed."
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven chuckles lightly, "No need to be so nervous, Ember. I doubt any of these people will hate you just because you Exalted as one of the Dragon-Blooded." He turns his attention then to Mirage, "Why not? Why can't I succeed? The Behemoth lies dormant and pliable, practically in the back yard. At this very moment my servants work on him, rebuilding that which is broken, armoring him in soulsteel and jade. Once I'm complete, Juggernaut will look like a children's toy in comparison, and I'll reclaim Thorns from that bastard." He spits, then shoots a glance at Ember again, "My, you have done your homework."
* Zhochen_Ansol takes his fork and pokes at the jade broach.
<_Ember_> Ember darted her eyes between Seven and Melua
<Melua> Still grasping one of the automaton's arms, Melua snapped her head towards Seven. "...Could you run that by us again?"
* Mirage glances at Ember for a moment, mentally re-adjusting some things, then turns back to Seven. "Well... Essentially, you're no Deathlord. With no offense intended, certainly; of all the people I've met, I like the Deathlords least. But I find it unlikely that one creature will make up for all the resources Mask probably has that you probably do not."
* Erin`Marias raises a brow slightly. "And you're sure you can control this thing, whatever it is? A little ambitious, I have to say..." She slowly stands up. "...what if it breaks free and goes on a rampage through the city, hmm?"
<_Ember_> "I don't recall that statment ever being an insult. More like just calling you out since our host here has already indicated everyone here is exalted." She then looked to Seven. "I do good work, but you never did answer my question. You're taking a pretty big risk, if you loose controll it'll destroy this city ... and more."
<AureusSila> Aureus looks at Seven with the apple stuck in his mouth. This can't ever end well.
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven looks to Melua and grins, that grin one of pure self-assurance, "I'm going to raise the Beast of the Chase from the dead as the mightiest weapon of destruction in the East. He's almost complete, now. It's just a matter of working the right Necromantic reitual." He looks then to Mirage, Erin and Ember, sighing, "Oh ye of little faith. I know what I'm doing. Before the Beast rises I'll have him firmly under my control, and nothing the Mask of Winters has at his disposal will be enough to stand against him. Unless he enters the field of battle himself, I suppose... even then, I'm not sure I like his chances."
* Zhochen_Ansol raises his eyebrows. "You said you're going to reclaim Thorns. What do you mean by that, anyways? This is indeed quite a dangerous prospect."
<_Ember_> "I do have another question but I can hold it till everyone else has worked this subject out of their systems."
<Melua> Dropping the mechanic servant, Melua rubbed her forehead. "And then what? What's your purpose for this? People will die in this fight, right? So what's your goal?"
<Zhochen_Ansol> "I mean, the re- part."
* Mirage rolls his eyes. "You know what you're doing. Certainly. I'm sure. Are you a thousand years old? Two? Didn't think so. I've _seen_ Behemoths hunted and slain."[/i] Well, heard really good stories anyway. "You'll barely make a mouthful for it, if it has a mouth."
* Erin`Marias mutters 'And I'm not sure I like yours, either' under her breath, then raises a brow at Mirage. [My ass he has.]
<AureusSila> Aureus takes a mental note to try and weasel the knowledge he needs to raise bone lions and similar things from Seven before it's too late.
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven frowns a little at this demonstration of distrust, finally turning his gaze towards Zhochen, "Nothing. It's just a figure of speech. Now what is it you wanted to show m-" His voice trails off as he sees the jade broach, his pale features becoming even more-so, "Where did you get that?"
<Zhochen_Ansol> Zhochen's face reeks of apology. "I was being followed. I lured him into a restaurant in order to try and ask him what he was up to, but he merely told me to stop meddling in his affairs. He dropped this on the table in front of me."
<Melua> Sitting on the edge of the table, Melua looked understandingly at Seven. "Look. I personally believe you can control it, if you've raised this much infrastructure. I'm just worried what you'll do with it, but if it helps more people than it hurts, I'll try to do what I can to help. What still needs to be done?"
* Mirage huffs and leans back again, crunching bacon in an annoyed manner. Stupid Deathknight is going to get them all killed.
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven snatches up the green jade broach, staring at it intently as it begins glowing in his hand, hissing between his teeth, "By the gods damned Void..." He growls, squeezing the broach tightly as if attempting to crush it. He turns to Melua's voice, thankful for the distraction, "What I'll do with it? I just want to kick that arrogant asshole out of my home. I've no goals of conquest beyond that." Not yet, but he doesn't say that out loud, "I still need to find a focus for the necromantic ritual. Nemissaries aren't enough to fuel it, and it needs a guiding intelligence. An A.I. Sadly those aren't easy to come by."
<_Ember_> Ember watched intently, willing to bide her time untill they were done, thankfull for attention not being focused at her like earlier."
* Zhochen_Ansol looks at Seven. "Look. You can trust me. I've talked to you for a good while and the only reason why I his this from you was because I was quite afraid. Could you please tell me what was going on when that man gave me that broach?"
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven clenches his teeth, opening his hand and dropping the broach onto the table, holding up his hand to show them the image of an hourglass burned into his hand, "Do you recognise this symbol? Do you? The goddamn Yozi have someone in my city, and this is a message from them. I don't know what they're telling me, but..." He grunts and pushes himself to his feet, "I'll just have to make do with what I've got. Jam enough nemissaries inside it and that thing will do what I tell it one way or another."
* Mirage steeples his fingers. This is bad, one way or another.
* Melua sighs, thinks for a moment, and gets up. "Animating Intelligence? I've barely even read about those! It's going to be tough finding one."
* Zhochen_Ansol raises his eyebrows, sky high. "I... I see. I'm not sure what the Yozi want from you, but I've worked with you long enough to know what you want. You have my trust, Seven."
<AureusSila> Aureus eyes narrow at the sight of the mark, it's a little out of his expertise, but he knows it can't mean anything but trouble.
* Erin`Marias mutters something that's almost inaudible under a growl, her Tell flicking irritably all of a sudden.
<PFP|Storyteller> Seven nods his head a little in agreement to Melua, "It will be difficult indeed. I'll have to make do without. I'll be excusing myself now. Please, enjoy the food. You can leave whenever you wish. I'd recommend you all get to know each other. It never hurts to have more allies." He turns to leave, "Thank you, Zhochen. I'm glad to know some people have faith in me." The serving automaton is still caught by one arm by Melua, looking actually rather disconcerted.
* Mirage shrugs and slides to his feet. "Well. Thank you for breakfast, at any rate. May I ask when you intend to attempt this feat? I wish you luck, but am also curious as to how long I have to clear the blast radius."
* Melua lets go, and grabs Singer's arm, chasing after Seven. "Wait! Isn't that dangerous?! You just said you needed it to control it!"
<AureusSila> Aureus looks at Melua, hoping she's not thinking of giving up the A.I, Sapphire. That thing is probably the most valuable asset the whole party has, if it ever fixes itself properly.
* Zhochen_Ansol sits down. "So. It looks like we've got a variety of problems from a variety of places." Directed at the rest of the party, he looks up. "You have nothing to fear from me. I'm as much a mediator as possible and I try to be as partial as possible. You all seem like a rather decent lot, and I wouldn't mind working with you for whatever end you're working for."
<_Ember_> Ember just sat silent, looking rather concerned. Her hands clasped in front of her face.
* Lionel chuckles.. "Whatever that turns out to be"
* Mirage grumbles as he flops back down into his seat, then looks around at the group. "Everybody in favor of running away and never coming back?" he asks hopefully.
* Zhochen_Ansol nods at Lionel. "Indeed, it seems as such."
<Lionel> "From his earlier comments, if he raises that behemoth now.. I highly doubt he will be able to truly control it"
<Zhochen_Ansol> "From what I know of him, he's smart enough to take his time. There's a lot of various nuances to how he works that, really, I find quite admirable."
<PFP|Storyteller> "About twelve hours." Seven would say over he shoulder in response to Mirage as he steps out of the room. Singer would be surprised as Melua grabs her arm, following her as she chases after Seven. Seven frowns and looks towards Melua, still walking, "It would be ideal to have an A.I., but I suppose I will have to attempt without it and take the risk. If the Yozi have a hand in things then there's no time to delay."
<Zhochen_Ansol> "Ornot, I suppose."
<AureusSila> Aureus puts his apple on the table. "No dice, old man, this can go horribly wrong if we leave it to itself" Of course, the thought of controlling the behemoth with sapphire for himself was what really intrigued Aureus.
* Mirage eyes the Yozi-medallion on the table and pokes it warily with a fork. "Who gave this to you, anyway?"
<_Ember_> Ember mumbled. "Taking the option to run away would lead to many ... many deaths if he failed to gain controll of it."
* Erin`Marias leans on the back of Mirage's chair, arms across the top, perhaps feeling a little protective. "Seems like the wrong thing to do, even if it's an option."
* Zhochen_Ansol looks at Mirage. "Someone who was following me. Probably could sense my radiant essence... Heh. I have reason to believe it's a second circle demon, but I don't know anything else other than that."
<Melua> "Why not just try to rout out the Yozi first? If you activate it and they're still around, sabotage is almost guaranteed! You should ferret them out first, then find that AI! I'll even help you locate the Yozi any way I can!" Melua looks back at Singer and apologizes silently, squeezing her arm reassuringly.
* Mirage siiiighs. "Well, I guess we stay and try to fix it then." He looks up at Erin, then shrugs and slouches to give her more room, putting his feet up on the table. Looking around for stray automata, then.... "So, anyone have any bright ideas beyond sabotage or assassination?"
<Lionel> "I think persuasion may be difficult.. Seven seems a little unstable and bent on revenge"
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer seems apprehensive about Melua's plan, but she doesn't gainsay it, taking her hand and returning that squeeze. Seven sighs and stops, running a hand through his hair, a faintly panicked expression hidden beneath that outer calm facade, "You don't understand. This... years of work, years of planning. I've had this in motion for so long, and the Yozi could bring the whole thing crumbling down. I can't be sure that I can do this without an A.I., but I have to try. Finding a Yozi agent would take too much time... unless... your Circle? Could they help? Find the Yozi's agents and remove them?"
* Erin`Marias doesn't lean forward, ha. She looks down at Mirage, smirks, then looks up at the others. "...took the words out of my mouth, Lionel." She nods to him.
<_Ember_> Ember finnaly eats somthing even if the food was now likely cold. She hmm'd as thoughts raced through her head, surprised at the quiet of her sister through this whole mess.
<Melua> "I know I'd help, and I'm sure they're more likely to agree to this than let an uncontrolled monster on the loose. Er, I meant, the Yozi, of course."
<Melua> (*leave)
<PFP|Storyteller> Da-xia sits quietly at the table, looking more than a little concerned, looking at the food and reaching forward to pluck up an apple, running a finger over its surface.
<_Ember_> Honestly just leaving this mess to these people was an appealing thought, especially since she had a child to take care of, but at the same time she felt the need to help because a lot of people could die.
<AureusSila> Aureus catches a glimpse of Da-Xia reaching for the apple at the corner of his eye and turns to look at her. "Don't worry, they're perfectly safe. At least mine was" Slipping back into Low Realm since she seems more comfortable with it.
* Lionel looks over at Melua and Singer.. "Lets hope they are making some progress"
* Lionel rubs his eyes and mutters irritably to himself
<_Ember_> She coughed. "So I was hoping to ask him about it before our host left, but apprently the temples here practice worship of the unconqured sun".
<PFP|Storyteller> She shakes her head slightly, "Slow acting sedative in the food. Leaves a filmy residue after being exposed to air." She raises the apple, demonstrating the streak in colour that her touch brought to the surface, "You probably won't even notice it, but it reduces your hand-eye coordination and relaxes your muscles..." Meanwhile, Seven sighs, seeming to calm down a little, "Two days. I'll give you two days to get rid of the Yozi agents. But then I'll hav-" He turns in time to see the knife coming, but not fast enough to stop it. The thrown blade buries itself in his collar-bone and sends him falling to the ground, down the hall a figure with a glowing green castemark upon his forehead grins at Melua, "Looking for me?"
* Mirage sighs. "Well, I think we might have to poke around and see if we can learn more before we can come up with any plan, maybe find this Yozi agent and see if they have any information..."
<_Ember_> Ember immiediatly spat out the little she did eat. "W-what? Oh god damnit. So we were drugged."
* Mirage blinks, then just tilts his chair back and laughs. "Wonderful!"
<AureusSila> "Really?" Aureus blinks in surprise, he thought he'd checked the apples properly before eating, apparently not close enough.
* Erin`Marias makes a slightly irritated sounding noise. She also impedes chair-leaning a bit. "Figures."
* Lionel sighs "Getting lax in checking my food", before reaching into his pouch for some herbs.
<Melua> Melua spins, dropping into a combat-ready position. "Actually, yes, didn't expect you so soon. I'm Melua Maia Mala, wonder girl, and liberator of posessions of the shiny nature. And you are?"
<PFP|Storyteller> Singer swears and draws her soulsteel reaper daiklave, holding at her side, taking a step to Melua's side, her posture a defensive one, "Pleased to meet you, Melua. I'm... not in the habit of giving out my name." Another knife is thrown, this one flung at Melua's neck.
* Lionel concentrates upon the herbs contained within his hand, and with a faint glow they coalesce into enough capsules for the party members who ate the food

This log exceeded the character limit, so here's the rest.

Session 4 (cont'd)
* Zhochen_Ansol swears. "Sometimes, my trust in people is just far too high, huh?"
<_Ember_> Ember took notice of Lionel. "A cure I guess? May I?" She hovered her hand near his.
* Lionel Lionel nods "Yeah, it is. Should work straight away". Lionel hands them out.
<_Ember_> Ember takes hers immediatly and downs it quickly
* Zhochen_Ansol reaches for a capsule and consumes.
* Mirage down the hatch! Whew.
<Zhochen_Ansol> "I hope you don't mind if I help myself. I'd take a drink to help it down, but..." He looks at Da-xia. "I take it the drinks are tainted, too."
* Erin`Marias glances at-- well, she's not going to argue with the results given how he fixed up Singer last time. Away we go.
<AureusSila> Aureus takes a capsule and swallows it with a polite "Thank you"
<Zhochen_Ansol> "That said, considering the tainted food, this situation looks... negative. I'm concerned about what else may have been planned."
* Erin`Marias shakes her head and flexes her hand a bit. "At least it wasn't wriggling. You don't want to hear about the wriggling food."
<PFP|Storyteller> Da-xia looks to Zhochen and blinks, lifting up a glass and sniffing its contents, frowning, "Harder to detect it in liquids. It could be, but I can't tell."
* Zhochen_Ansol walks over to Da-xia and ruffles the top of her hair. "Thank you very much, Da-xia."
<_Ember_> Ember gives a somewhat agitated glance at Zhochen touching her sister
* Mirage grimaces. "We do not talk about the wriggling food." He gives Da-xia another smile. "And yes, thank you. We are in your debt."
<Melua> Jerking her head slightly to let the knife flick by, only barely scratching her neck, Melua backed slowly towards the door where the others still were. "That's awful rude, you know, not to introduce yourself to a lady. I even went first! Don't you know it's a faux pas to have a lady make the first move?!" With that, she grabbed a light spear out of mid-air and threw it hard at the enemy.
* Erin`Marias practically launches herself off the back of the chair as she hears the scuffle, and makes a beeline for it, her lance flowing into one hand as she goes. "NotimetotalkgottaGO!"
<AureusSila> Aureus smiles at Da-Xia. "I'm sure you just saved us alot of troub-" Interrupted by Erin's sudden dash he stops mid-sentence. "What in the world?"
* Zhochen_Ansol stares at Erin. "I suppose she's found part two of whatever this master plan was!" He raises an arm as a large, curved Wavecleaver Daiklaive appears in his outstreched hand.
* Lionel frowns at Erin "I'd say.. we should follow her"
* Mirage blinks at Erin, then stands at a more leisurely pace and peeks out of the door after her. "...bwah?"
<_Ember_> Ember immediatly stood up and snatched the two shooters holisterd at her hips. "Sis, follow but not to close, if there's a fight I want you to find cover somewhere understood?." She didn't even wait for a response as she chased after Erin
* Lionel draws his sword, before saying to Ember "I will watch her, don't worry"
<_Ember_> Ember nodded at Lionel as she ran.
<PFP|Storyteller> Melua's thrown blade of light flew towards the Infernal with unering accuracy, flashing through the colourspectrum at high speeds and passing right through his chest. The Infernal's chest erupts in a cloud of green smoke as the blade passes through it, roiling about for a moment before settling into a solid once more, leaving him completely unharmed, "You missed." He said with a grin, then turns and bolts down the hall with incredible speed, leaving stone spikes erupting up from the floor in his wake. Seven is lying on the ground, groaning weakly, blood flowing from his shoulder. Poor sucker has no resistance charms.
<PFP|Storyteller> End Session.
<Lionel> what an asshole :D

Session Log 5
<Anna> Previously on #Exalted: Convinced that the Yozi were meddling in his plans, Seven fled the breakfast intent on raising the Beast of the Chase as quickly as possible. Melua and Singer persued, only for a Green Sun Prince to almost kill Seven and then flee the scene. Meanwhile, Da-xia revealed to the others that their food had been laced with a sedative, and after Mifoh treated it, Erin caught the sounds of violence and rushed out in time to see the Green Sun Prince flee.
<Anna> Now you've got a hall full of huge sand spikes going in one direction, and Seven is lying on the ground, nursing a seriously nasty knife wound.
<Anna|Storyteller> Session start now.
<_Ember_> Ember looks at the spikes, then towards the wounded Seven. "What happened!?"
* Mirage_ peeks out the door to see Seven on the floor, spikes, etc. He slips out, staying discreetly behind Erin.
* ZhochenAnsol was in the process of running over, but stops dead in his tracks as he sees Seven wounded on the ground. "Seven!" He dis-summons his daiklaive and rushes over. "Lionel! Get over here! Can you do anything about this?"
* Erin`Marias skids into the hallway dramatically, facing the way the GSP left. Sandspikes. Great. She turns around and spots--... Seven. Great. "I see the malefactor showed up in the wrong place at the wrong time..."
* Lionel advances cautiously up to the door, glancing through before dashing over to Seven to check his injuries
* Melua gestured pointlessly. "I was trying to hammer out an agreement with Seven to let us track down the Yozi cultists and we...uh, ran into one. He was strong, and missed my neck by a hair before running away."
* Lionel looks down at Seven, before sighing "I hate doing this with such a small gap between" before once again beginning to blaze with power
<_Ember_> Ember relaxed her stance a bit. "I see, did you get a look at his face or anything recongnizible at least?"
<AureusSila> Aureus, in a rather silly little display of manly chivalry, stays close to Da-Xia. Just in case, you know.
<Melua> "Yeah, I did. He was glowing green. Does that count as recognizable?"
* Mirage_ hmph's. "Well then, why are we letting him get away?" There is a sudden shift and a flutter of brown and white feathers, and a large barn owl takes to the air, gliding silently over the spikes in the floor as he follows the trail.
<Anna|Storyteller> Singer looks shocked, taking a step back to lean against the wall, staring down the hall in the direction of those spikes. Da-xia looks worried, turning and offering Aureus a nervous smile. Seven gasps as that magic surges through him, yanking the throwing blade out of his collarbone and sitting up slowly as the wound begins knitting.
* Melua spins and watches Mirage fly out. "Th...that was new."
<_Ember_> "Because some of us can't fly smartass." Ember then looked back towards Melua. "No not really!" She said in a sarcasticly cheery tone.
* Lionel places his hand upon Seven's chest, and his Anima unfurls from his arm, moving towards the injury and pulling the edges together
* Erin`Marias look at Seven and the others, then the departing Mirage. "...should I go and make sure he doesn't get himself into any trouble?" She sighs.
* Melua sighs, and describes the assailant to the best of her ability to the rest.
<AureusSila> Aureus smiles back at Da-Xia. "We should probably go over there, make sure they do things right"
<Anna|Storyteller> Mirage finds that the trail of large spikes teeters off to nothing at the end of the hall, and the attacker is nowhere to be seen. Tombs is there, however, with a pair of ghost-blooded guards, using a massive soulsteel Grand Grimcleaver to smash down those spikes and clear the hall.
* Lionel moves to help Seven to his feet.
<Anna|Storyteller> Da-xia smiles nervously, "I think sis might want me to stay here..." She murmurs. Seven rises to his feet and grunts, while Singer still looks stunned, "Green Sun Prince." She mumbles quietly.
<_Ember_> Ember holistered her shooters and crossed her arms across her chest, listening to melua's report, and watching Seven.
* Melua finishes, hearing but not acknowledging Singer's comment, mentally filing it away for later
* Mirage_ glides a bit further down the hall, searching for any sign of this mysterious Exalt's passage...
<AureusSila> "Then I guess we stay" Aureus muses while letting his eyes scan across the room, somewhat on edge.
<Anna|Storyteller> One of the Ghost-blood guards spots Mirage and reacts, whipping out a chunky crossbow and firing off a bolt at him, missing by a large margin. He's about to reload then Tombs clubs him on the back of the head, "That's one of the Lunars, you twit!" He grunts, then resumes clearing the path.
<Anna|Storyteller> While Aureus is looking about the room, he sees that the Yozi Broach that Zhochen had shown the group, the one that had disturbed Seven so much, his bubbling and melting, dissolving into pure vitriol, the substance of Malfeas.
<Melua> "Well, I'm planning on trying to track him down, though I'm not sure what good I can do. I told Seven I'd do what I could to help rout out the cultists in exchange for a day or two delay in powering up his, um, weapon."
* Erin`Marias is going to take a hack at starting to clear out some of the sandspikes from their end, leaving the others to make sure Seven is alright.
<_Ember_> Ember walked over to the nearest wall and leaned on it, listening to everything going on within earshot. She honestly had no clue what to do next.
<AureusSila> "That... can't be good" Aureus mumbles and walks a little closer to the dissolving broach to examine just how not-good it could be.
<Lionel> "It seems this person is intentionally trying to provoke a hasty response, it can't be a coincidence that he gave Zhochen that broach."
<Anna|Storyteller> The sandspikes are already starting to collapse on their own, loosing their solidity and pooling onto the ground, and Erin's hacking at it is making the process swifter. As Aureus stares at the broach, a bubbling splotch of vitriol bursts upwards, droplets striking his face. Feelings of rage and the urge to possess everything briefly wash over him.
* Mirage_ squawks rather indignantly at the guard as the crossbow bolt whizzes by, then glides onward, finding... nothing. No glowing animas, no broken doors... bah. He veers back around, doing a fighter-jet wing-waggle at Tombs before landing beside Erin and shifting back to human form. "Lost him," he says disgustedly.
<Melua> Gasping, Melua put one hand over her mouth, and re-evaluated Lionel in her mind. "I hadn't even thought of that, you're probably right! Seven, how hard is it to be sure that there's no sabotage on your project?"
<AureusSila> Aureus backed off, with his hands over his face. That fucking yozi! "I'll have his head for this!"
<Anna|Storyteller> Seven frowns and raises a hand to rub at his freshly healed collar bone, "How hard? Nigh on impossible... there's too many things that could have been done. The Beast of the Chase is... large."
<_Ember_> "You have to consider the possibility" Ember muttered.
<Melua> "How long would it take to do a good double ch-" The girl turned her head, staring at Aureus for his outburst, then turned back to Seven. "To double check?"
* Erin`Marias hacks a couple more of the spikes apart. She doesn't even glance at Mirage as he lands beside her. "I figured you had." She remarks sarcastically, with a slight smirk. "You're not the sort to run from a fight, right?"
<Anna|Storyteller> Da-xia stares wide-eyed at Aureus, retreating a little and looking somewhat frightened. Singer remains standing aside from the group, looking concerned now, while Seven pauses to consider at that question, "A day or two? I'm not sure what to be looking for. It could take a week. But Lionel is right, and I'm foolish for not seeing it."
<_Ember_> Ember stares at Aureus, her right hand on it's appropriate shooter. She was waiting for the boy to try somthing stupid. "Da-xia, it's safe in here, come over here."
* Mirage_ straightens his robes meticulously. "Of course not. Besides, there appears to be another Deathknight down the hall, so I must assume the guards have been alerted." He moves over to offer Seven a hand up. "Are you all right?"
* ZhochenAnsol stares at Aureus, confused. In fact, he stares at everything, confused out of his mind. What is, in fact, happening to his world?
<Anna|Storyteller> Seven smiles faintly at Mirage, gesturing to Lionel, "Thanks to him, I'm fine." He raises a hand to wave at Tombs as the other Deathknight clears his way through, approaching the group with his eyes narrowed. Tombs looks at Ember intently, giving a small nod before looking back to Seven, "What happened?" He grunts, Seven sighs, "Yozi." "Shit." "Yup."
* Erin`Marias sighs. "Really?" She hacks another spike in half, then backs off to make sure there aren't any collisions between her and Tombs when the last few spikes are being dealt with, then meanders over to Seven and the others.
<_Ember_> Ember nodded back to tombs, and gestured again towards Da-xia to come over to her.
<Anna|Storyteller> Da-xia looks over towards Ember and quickly moves over to her, moving to hug her and looking a little overwhelmed by everything.
* Mirage_ grins slightly at Seven and Tombs, stepping back and looking around to make sure nobody else is injured. "A masterful summation, I must admit. Well then, friends and comrades, what now? Unless one of us has charms to track someone we've barely seen, I think this assassin is gone for now..."
* Melua sighs. "I guess we should start looking? At least, I'm going to. Though now that I've seen one of our targets, I'm a bit scared."
<_Ember_> Ember didn't even acknowledge Mirage as she wrapped a arm around Da-xia.
<AureusSila> Aureus finds himself slightly off-balance after the sudden outburst of 'WANT' all over the inside of his head. He looks over to the hallway and the people there, finding himself sort of semi-isolated from the group.
* ZhochenAnsol nods at Tombs as he walks in. "Hail. We... Honestly, this doesn't sound beyond comprehension. It only figures that something like this would have happened, naturally." He's speaking mainly to himself, but in a loud enough voice to be heard.
* Reyna slowly saunters forth from the corridor, looking around uncertainly while piecing together what she'd overheard on approach. "I missed something important, didn't I?" she mutters to no-one in particular.
* Lionel scratches his head, before rummaging around in one of his pouches, pulling something out and eating it. "Its going to be interesting finding an Exalt who doesn't want to be found."
* Erin`Marias shoots Reyna a look, then nods to Melua. "Whoever they are, I'm guessing they should be our top priority now. Things are dangerous enough without rushing towards completion... tie up loose ends first and such."
<Anna|Storyteller> Seven steps aside with Tombs, whispering back and forth with him for a moment, before looking back to the group, "It seems my plans for the Beast of the Chase must be put on hold. My soldiers... well, this is beyond them, I think, but not beyond you. So, I'm asking your aid. I need someone to track down that... that thing, and remove it. I'll work on searching the Beast for Sabotage."
<Melua> Still thinking about it, Melua frowns again. "It COULD have been a demon, I guess? Though I think there might have been a caste mark..." She's clearly momentarily in her own little world.
* ZhochenAnsol stares at Reyna. "Who the... Hello there." He then looks at Lionel. "It's even worse if you consider the implications of what that could possi--" He looks at Melua. "A caste mark? What type? Did you see it?"
<ZhochenAnsol> he says, with the image of the hourglass still fresh in his memory.
* Reyna flashes Erin a cold grin, before nodding at Zhochen.
<Melua> "E-eh? Yeah, I think so...the same yozi-symbol as on the signet ring or whatever."
<_Ember_> Ember opened her left eye and looked towards Seven. "Do we get anything out of this besides making sure you don't hit the start button on your toy too early?"
<Anna|Storyteller> Aureus, by this point, might have noticed that the Yozi broach has now burned a small hole through the table and has boiled down to pretty much nothing.
<Melua> "Except, behind it was a glowing green disc."
<ZhochenAnsol> He freezes. "That... is a fascinating implication." He thinks for a little longer. "The being which gave me that ring - I couldn't tell much, but I thought it was a second circle demon. I'm not sure anymore what that could possibly imply..."
* Mirage_ nods in greeting to Reyna, then tilts his head at Seven. "I admit that this seems reasonable. Whether or not I agree with your goals, demons running around loose is good for nobody." He frowns prettily to himself, his gaze idly ending up on Da-Xia as he thinks.
<Anna|Storyteller> Seven looks to Ember and raises his brows, "Well... I wasn't expecting you to be so mercenary, but if you require a reward... it is within my means to offer substantial material rewards." Da-xia notices Mirage's gaze idling on her, offering him a faint smile, seeming to have calmed down a little now.
* Mirage_ is speaking to Seven, sorry if that was unclear.
<Anna|Storyteller> Seven looks to Mirage and smiles faintly, "Yes, well, this whole situation has me reconsidering some of my goals, as it is..."
<_Ember_> Ember opened both eyes and steped up to seven, her right hand on her hip now. "As much as I hate to be, I have to be mercenary to support myself and my sister, what with being on the run from the realm and all. Surely you understand my reasons. I can do things out of the goodness of my heart but there are things I -need-"
* ZhochenAnsol looks at Seven. "I have been always trusting of your decisions, considering your various circumstances. I understand. You still have my trust, as I mentioned at the table. Either way, though, if I may, I'd prefer going to search down the bastard that did this to you."
* Mirage_ grins at Da-Xia. "So, Lady Da-Xia, if you were a demon saboteur, where would you hide?"
<_Ember_> Ember narrowed her eyes as she turned to Mirage and gave him a look of "what"
* ZhochenAnsol looks at Mirage and snerk.
* Erin`Marias elbows Mirage in the side and rolls her eyes.
<Anna|Storyteller> Seven nods to Ember and sighs a little, giving a faint chuckle, "Aye, I understand. I had a similar attitude when I first fled Thorns." He murmurs, while Da-xia looks at Mirage, blinking once and tilting her head, "Anywhere I wanted to, if I could make myself immaterial. He may have supporters in the city who summoned him from Malfeas, assuming he is a demon..."
<AureusSila> Aureus looks at the now almost non-existant remains of the broach before walking over to the others. "Guys, the broach sort of... disappeared"
<Anna|Storyteller> Singer nods her head a little, finally speaking, "Vitriol. Not nice stuff." She says in response to Aureus, turning to leave the building, "I'll be back later. There's something I need to look into."
<ZhochenAnsol> "I... figured that was the case, Aureus." He stares. "With that sort of energy it was putting off to Seven, there, it makes sense that would have happened in the end."
* Mirage_ hmmmm's. "Good point." He wanders over to Aureus, looking down at the hole where the brooch used to be. "Ugh. Say, Aureus, if this is a demon we're going against, could you bind or dispell it by any chance?" Or something. Sorcerors are supposed to do these things, right?
* Melua follows quietly behind Singer, waving a farewell to the others idly, deciding she'd had enough chatting about it.
<AureusSila> "Vitriol... Uh, how's it not nice?" Aureus feels just a little bit worried. "I mean, is it dangerous somehow?"
<ZhochenAnsol> "How hard could it possibly be to kill?" Zhochen shrugs. "You guys look like you're quite the //smashing// party."
<Anna|Storyteller> Seven looks to Zhochen and grins, extending a hand towards him, "Thanks, Zhochen. You're a good friend. It's been an honour having you in my city, but... well, you should work with these people." Singer looks back as Melua follows her, still walking, "You're coming with me?"
<_Ember_> Ember smiled a little. "Then we are in agreement ... though I'm not so sure about the rest of your..." she looked over her shoulder. "Guests"
* Mirage_ smiles and waves to Ember!
<Melua> "Mhm, if that's okay. They're talking, you're doing something, and crowds make me uncomfortable."
<AureusSila> Aureus turns to look at Mirage. "Sorry, Mirage, not my area of expertise. My master's got a way with demons, but he never let me get at those books"
* ZhochenAnsol takes Seven's hand and shakes firmly. "I suppose I shall, for now. But don't hesitate to call me back. I've invested quite a bit in the rest of the people of this town. Besides, who am I going to hire to replace me?" He smiles.
<_Ember_> Ember groaned to herself at Mirage's friendlyness
<Anna|Storyteller> Da-xia suddenly gets a look on her face. A look that says 'I have an idea!', she pulls away from Ember and steps towards Aureus, taking his hands, "You're a sorcerer?!"
<AureusSila> Aureus, startled by the sudden gesture, tries to find himself. "Uh yes, maybe, just a little?"
<_Ember_> Ember turned to look at Da-xia, feeling a ill sort of feeling in her stomach, she already didn't want to get attached to these people but fate seems to keep pushing her that way.
* Reyna blinks, turning to watch Da-Xia.
* Lionel glances over at Aureus
* Erin`Marias shrugs slightly to Ember's remarks on 'Guests' and glances at Seven. She rolls her shoulders idly, feeling a bit out of place.

* Mirage_ sighs and nods at Aureus. "Well, it was worth a try I suppose." He grins at Zhochen, "Glad to have you aboard" he says, then just crosses his arms and listens curiously to Da-Xia and Aureus.
<Anna|Storyteller> Singer smiles faintly, shaking her head a little as she steps out of the manse and proceeds towards one of the Temples with Melua following her. Da-xia lifts Aureus's hands and grins, "We could probably search for signs of demon conjuring spells. Together!" Then Seven nods to the group and steps away, "I really must attend to the Beast. If you require me for anything, get in touch with Tombs." He gestures to the large Deathknight.
<AureusSila> "I guess that's an idea" Aureus respondes with a facial expression that hints at something like 'oh gosh sometimes I wish I wasn't in an area of expertise that's bound to get me in danger'. "Like I said I'm not all that experienced... when it comes to demons. But one spell typically isn't that different from the other so it's not a bad idea"
* Mirage_ successfully resists the urge to facepalm at Da-Xia. Then successfully resists the urge to grin evilly. "That's not a bad idea. Why don't you take your big sister with you, so she can protect you if you find any demons?"
* ZhochenAnsol nods at Seven. "Good luck." He then turns to Tombs. "If I can trust anyone here with kicking that thing's tail, it's you." He then turns to the party. "So, I suppose we don't have much to run on for leads, huh."
<_Ember_> Ember actually shot a look that could burn if she had the capacity at Mirage for that.
<ZhochenAnsol> (YOU ARE A FIRE ASPECT, YOU CAN TRY)
<_Ember_> (I don't have eyebeams)
<Anna|Storyteller> Da-xia furrows her brows and takes a step back, releasing Aureus' hands, "Hm. Not sure where to start, though." She mumbles, looking to Ember and then Mirage, blinking a little.
<Erin`Marias> "Guess we should break out some 'Wanted' posters." She eyes Mirage, then Ember. "Do try not to get in a staring match, you two."
* Reyna shrugs to herself and leans back against the wall, staring into space and drifting away from the conversation. There'd be time to sort this out later, when she had enough information to make sense of everything.
<ZhochenAnsol> (*ChibiZhochen yells at Seven's receding back, "Hey, what's the age of consent in Elysium, again?")
<Anna|Storyteller> Seven leaves, Tombs sets about ordering his men, and Singer continues to one of the temples, she steps around to the back door and looks to Melua, offering her a faint smile, then looks above the door to the image of a golden sun that glows faintly in the sunlight of the Shadowlands.
<AureusSila> Aureus rubs his temples a little. "We don't happen to have records of known sorcerers here in the city, do we?"
<Anna|Storyteller> Tombs lifts his head, "There are dozens of necromancers and sorcerors in the city. Mostly Seven's Ghost-Blooded minions." He grunts in response to Aureus.
<_Ember_> Ember sighed. "Fine, if you're -so- interested how about you join us ... Mirage is it? And we'll be stopping at the inn we're staying at so I can at least bring you up to speed on what I've found."
* Reyna snaps back to alertness and looks at Ember "If you do, can I come?"
<_Ember_> She tilted her head to the side. "Sure why not..."
<Melua> Blinking in surprise, Melua adjusts the pack on her back a bit. "You know, in all the distance I've travelled, I don't think I've ever seen a temple to him. ...That's kinda sad, now that I think about it."
* Erin`Marias meanders over to Mirage. "If he's going, I'm going. If only so I can keep him out of trouble."
* ZhochenAnsol sits down with Tombs. "Have you ever met this thing before? Anything that could be reeking of demon, in the city? That isn't working with you guys, that is."
* Mirage_ shrugs modestly. "I wouldn't want to get in your way, certainly." He blinks at Reyna and Erin, then shrugs. "Though if I'm really so popular, I suppose it would be wrong ot deprive you of my company."
<_Ember_> Ember facepalmed. "Tombs you think your guys can protect seven well enough from any further attempts at assasination since it seems I'm taking the rest of your guests in my wake, much to my irratation."
<AureusSila> Aureus sighs and walks down the corridor, eyes and ears sharp, as well as looking for less... mundane clues. "I'm going to need more information on that substance that the broach dissolved into... especially if it's dangerous, mind you" He mutters to nobody in particulat but rather audible.
<Mirage_> "Actually... Are there any known demon cults in the area?"
* ZhochenAnsol nods at Mirage. "That is a better question."
<Anna|Storyteller> Tombs shakes his head a little in response to Zhochen's questions, "If Seven wasn't aware of it, then I'm clueless." He mumbles, looking towards Ember, "I'm sure my men can take care of it. I've sent a full cadre of my best men to guard him and the Behemoth."
<_Ember_> Ember nodded at Tombs. "Good enough." She then took Da-xia's hand. "If the rest of you are coming then follow." She headed towards the exit.
* ZhochenAnsol nods at Tombs. "Yeah. I hope he's going to be all right, naturally. He loves this city so much..." He stands up. "Well, I suppose we should start scouring the area for any possible haunts for this demon."
* Lionel nods to Tombs, before moving to follow Ember.
* Reyna waits for Ember to pass before slipping through the exit and falling in behind her.

<Anna|Storyteller> Singer raises a hand to run her fingers over the golden symbol, "Why a Temple to him here, of all places?" She asks, partially directing the question to Melua, partially to thin air, then opens the door and steps into the Temple.
<_Ember_> Ember grumbled quietly to herself as she walked down the street towards the end of town her Inn was at.
<Anna|Storyteller> Da-xia naturally follows her sister, deep in thought.
* ZhochenAnsol puts on his thinking cap and begins searching the town for possible clues for where the fuck this fucker is hiding.
* Mirage_ nods and follows Ember. "Well, if Tombs' people have Seven safe..." Like they were guarding the Manse that Seven just got attacked in the middle of... "Then I suppose Da-Xia and Aureus should see if they can find any sign of summong, and searching for demon cults and such would be the next logical place to start. Aureus, do you know if demon-summoning require any special magical equipment?"
* Melua follows Singer in, taking a careful, careful look around inside. "I was thinking the same thing. I mean, sure they're not under the Immaculate Order's faith anymore, but... it still shouldn't be here. Something's off? Though, it'd be nice to see him get the worship he deserves..."
<_Ember_> "-After- I hand over my report, and grab some more ammo" Ember said rather sternly.
* ZhochenAnsol finds a nice cafe, shrugs, and just sits down to eat, pondering.
* Erin`Marias wanders along with the ragtag band of Exalts, glancing around.
"I doubt we can just wander around telling people to bring out their demon cultists." She shrugs and sights. "Don't look at me, I'm out of my element here."
* Mirage_ shrugs and smiles. "Well then, shall we split up in that case? If Ember doesn't mind of course."
<_Ember_> "If they want" she then pointed at Mirage "But you're coming with me" she said sternly.
<Anna|Storyteller> While Aureus is performing his search for magical clues, he finds nothing. But something finds him. He does see it as sand starts whipping up behind him, pooling together and whipping about, forming into bones, then organs, muscles and finally skin and clothing. A knife is raised.
<Lionel> "Well, we can check for insights in your report, and move on from there"
<Anna|Storyteller> (*does not see it)
<Anna|Storyteller> Singer smiles a little, "I suppose so." She murmurs, looking around the inside of the temple, a priest approaching, pale and dark-haired, smiling, "Welcome, my friends. Only in the light can shadows thrive. I'm Brother Azure. How may I help you?"
<Anna|Storyteller> The Malefactor grins, and he could have made a strike at Aureus without even letting the boy sorceror know he was there, but instead he gloats, "I have you now, little spellster!" He exclaims, forfeiting the element of surprise, before bringing his knife down.
* Mirage_ grins. Dammit. "As you wish."
<_Ember_> Ember continued to walk in the direction of her inn, keeping her eye out for more threats. She honestly didn't care who came with her or not except for mirage, he annoyed her, but she figured she might as well feed him some so he'll shut up.
<Melua> Glancing at Singer, Melua smiled. "I'm a ...follower of the Unconquered Sun, and I am surprised to see a temple, that's all. May I ask why this temple was built in...such a bleak place?"
* Erin`Marias aims another elbow at Mirage's side and snickers a bit. "Guess I better keep an eye on you two then, eh? Heck, it's probably safer if we stick together. If we do find a nest of 'em and we're split up, things could go badly."
<Anna|Storyteller> Aureus gets a nice big slash torn in his side, but otherwise survives the blow unscathed, the Malefactor taking a few steps back and smirking, "You're going to die here, Lawgiver."
<_Ember_> The inn was in sight, it was likely not as nice as the one the other exalts were housed in.
<AureusSila> Aureus simply grunts in response to the pain as he turns around with a grin on his face. "I think not, you poor excuse for an assassin. In fact I am going to crush your skull under this tiny little heel"
* ZhochenAnsol frowns and leaves the cafe. Pho is nice and all, but he just got out of breakfast anyways. He begins wandering the streets.
<Anna|Storyteller> Da-xia remains with her sister and the rest. Singer lets Melua talk, watching the priest curiously. Brother Azure offers a faint smile toMelua that looks slightly... off, "We here in Elysium worship the Unconquered Sun, for his light lets as know that even in Death, there is still hope. Without his light, all shadows would be swathed in darkness and overwhelmed."
* Mirage_ looks around and does a headcount. "Hopefully safer, yes. I was just thinking of wandering around the temples and guard posts and such searching for rumors." He keeps an eye on Ember, looking for an opportune moment to slip off while she's not watching. Safer is for wimps.
<_Ember_> Ember stepped inside and up the stairs towards her room, wondering just how many of the others were still following her, she looked up and down the hall as she approached the door. (Damn I wish Lao was here right now ... well maybe not right now. better after I get rid of these guys.)
* Lionel waits downstairs for Ember to come back down.
<Anna|Storyteller> When they step into Ember's room, someone unexpected was sitting on one of the beds, idly picking his teeth with a tooth-pick and humming. The winged, wolf-headed creature looks up at the group and grins, "Hey there Mirage. It's been a while." He says, raising a clawed hand to wave, looking to Ember.
* Erin`Marias glances between the wolfguy and Mirage. "You move in... interesting circles, I see."
<_Ember_> Ember narrowed her eyes and brought her right hand towards it's respective gun. "Who the fuck are you and why are you in my room."
<Anna|Storyteller> The Infernal grins at Aureus, laughing a sinister laugh, "You don't have it in you. I'll give you one shot. One shot. Then I'm tearing out your intestines and strangling you with them!"
* Lionel realises he is stupid and follows them up, shocked at the appearance of the new.. thing
* Reyna tilts her head and stares intently at the new stranger.
"...Cool."
* Mirage_ blinks, then grins and bows in greeting, holding a hand out to forestall any gun-drawing from Ember. "Hey there. Sorry we got interrupted last time. What brings you here?"
<_Ember_> Ember stared angrily now at Mirage ... well moreso. "You know this ... person?"
<Melua> Melua coughs politely. "With all due respect, Brother Azure, I believe that there is nowhere his light cannot reach, even the deepest shadow."
<Anna|Storyteller> Azure nods his head slowly, "And all touched by his light can be made pure once more, so we believe." Something seems strange about him, but she can't quite make out what it is.
* Mirage_ just smiles at Ember. "Business associate of mine," he says with a sage nod.
<Lionel> "Business.. associate?" Lionel says sarcastically.
<_Ember_> "Well you better tell your "associate to put anything of mine he took back since he's already made himself at home in my room." She narrowed her eyes at Mirage.
<Anna|Storyteller> Florivet grins broadly at Mirage, "Cecelyne brings me here. More or less. I need to discuss something with you." He looks to Ember and chuckles, "Sorry about this. But my, aren't you lovely?" He asks, stroking his chin and staring at her. Meanwhile, Melua notices something very off about Brother Azure, his eyes, at first glance look normal, but the more you look at them, the more you see that ...
<Anna|Storyteller> ... they're black. Entirely black. No iris. No white. Pure black.
* Mirage_ laughs as Florivet notices Ember. "Be careful, she probably bites," he warns. "And, I'm curious to hear what you have to say. I thought I saw a bar downstairs; should we adjourn for a drink, or do you want to keep this private?"
<_Ember_> Ember shoves her way past Mirage and starts serching her pack that lays on the floor in front of her bed, checking to make sure all her possessions were still there.
<AureusSila> Aureus raises his hands in front of himself slowly drawing the Sign of the Hooded Headsman with strands of essence in the air. "Don't lose your head now" A sudden gust of wind blows his robes backwards as the sign starts spinning, faster and faster untill all you can see is a blurry circle of silver roughly two feet in diameter. Untill the circle starts moving at high speed right towards the Malefactor.
<Melua> Glancing at Singer, Melua carefully asked, "Brother, if you don't mind, I'm...curious how you came to the cloth."
<Anna|Storyteller> Florivet laughs, "Ah, by Ligier, a drink is certainly tempting, but I'm trying to be inconspicuous today. Can't be seen wandering about here in Elysium." He says to Mirage, still staring at Ember and smirking, her pack has not been touched. Da-xia stares at the demon wide-eyed, as he then says, "The thing that's causing trouble for Seven, it's working for the Ebon Dragon, not Cecelyne."
<Anna|Storyteller> The Infernal realises a little too late that Aureus' spell is not so harmless. Attempting to leap aside at the last minute, he fails somewhat miserably, the guillotine wrapping around his neck and tearing his head clean off in less than a second.
<_Ember_> Ember sighed with relef and took a seat at her desk after fishing out a metal rectangular box. She fiddled with the lock on it and it opened revealing a file folder. She sat it on her desk. "Do you want my report now or after you've finished talking to your friend?"
* Reyna perks her ears at the demon, visibly more alert than before.
<_Ember_> She also was keeping an ear towards the ... demon or whatever he was listening intently.
<Anna|Storyteller> Brother Azure frowns a little at Melua, and more of his features seem to twist a little, his dark hair being tainted a faint bloody red, incredibly pale skin looking slightly green, "Why do you ask?" Singer frowns and lowers a hand to her belt.
* Mirage_ shrugs, leaning against the doorframe. "Good to know, but how does that help us find and stop it?" he asks. "Unless I'm missing something..."
<Melua> "Because I'm interested in why a non-human would do so, if you'll please forgive my rudeness, sir." Melua politely bowed towards him.
* Lionel leans against the wall, looking very wary of Florivet
<AureusSila> Aureus grins even wider as he walks over to the dead infernals body. He then jumps into the air and directs his tiny weight as well as the force of his legs straight at the severed head, which caves in with a satisfying crack. "That'll teach people not to fuck with me"
* Mirage_ shrugs at Ember. "Later, if it can wait..." He's much more interested in what the demon has to say.
<Anna|Storyteller> Florivet smirks faintly, "It's working for the Ebon Dragon, but Cecelyne is also involved in things. She has agents in this city. She wants Seven to succeed, the Ebon Dragon has plans of his own, though... this whole city is a playground for the Yozi. Seven and Tombs are being manipulated from two sides." The Infernal's body collapses into sand and disappears.
<_Ember_> Ember was slightly annoyed by Mirage putting her off.
* Erin`Marias hrms. "I don't suppose you have any solid proof of their manipulations?"
* Mirage_'s eyebrows go up. "Well, that's certainly interesting. Thank you." He thinks. "And if you're working for Cecelyne, you're telling us this because either our help screwing up Ebon Dragon is more important than Cecelyne's goals succeeding, which means he's winning, or you think you can get us to screw him up without interfering with your own plans." He waves dismissively. "This is just speculation. Anyway. Understand that I fo
<Mirage_> "This is just speculation. Anyway. Understand that I for one am somewhat disinclined to help either Yozi... It sort of comes with the territory and all. I'm just here to defend Creation."
<_Ember_> Ember just watched the two talk. Taking all the information in. She still had a hand on one of her guns.
<Anna|Storyteller> Brother Azure suddenly lunges towards Melua, his whole face twisting and distorting, becoming obviously demonic, the golden symbol of the sun on his robes changing to green, a blade of vitriol forming in his hand as he slashes at Melua. Florivet looks to Mirage, "I've got no interest in Cecelyne's business in this city. She's not very happy with me, to put it bluntly. My interest is in your ...
<Anna|Storyteller> ... group." He looks to Erin, "Solid proof of the Yozi's manipulations? When the Ebon Dragon is involved? Impossible."
<AureusSila> Aureus kneels down in the sand and covers his fingers in his own blood. "You better remember this name, you yozi fuck, I don't care who you are but when you start sending assassins after me I'm likely to get very angry" He starts writing with blood in the sand forming, with large fancy letters, the name 'ANCELIN'
* Mirage_ laughs and nods. "Oh, fair enough. I was just making sure our position was clear." Well, his position. Everyone else will agree, certainly. "Anyway, we're not a judge and jury. We don't need proof so far, just information."
* Erin`Marias shrugs lightly. "I figured that'd be the case." She raises a brow. "And why're you so interested in us? Though I suppose there are several answers to that..." With that, she trails off into thought.
<_Ember_> Ember raised a finger. "I'm curious about that group that worships the unconqured sun in this city, they seem suspicious to me." She directed this toward the demon.
* Reyna sighs, running her hand through her hair in frustration. "Mirage, tonight when this is all over, could you get me up to speed on everything?"
<Anna|Storyteller> Florivet smirks a little, "Well, I was trying to give Mirage here a delicate piece of information when some Deathknights tore the place up and took him captive. It's been three months since then, and now he shows up here, with all of you in tow... and something's different about you now." He looks to Ember and just smiles at her theory. Brother Azure's knife passes cleanly through the space where Melua was as she dodges aside from the attack, and Singer draws her sword, stepping back. Brother Azure is grinning wolfishly, showing off rows of serated razors in his mouth rather than teeth, "I'll tear you apart!"
<_Ember_> Ember glanced at Mirage at the mention of "Different", and then looked too and frowned at the demon after his response to her. "Don't be coy with me."
* Mirage_ laughs and bows to Reyna. "Once I figure out what's going on, certainly." He shrugs at Florivet. "It's been a little eventful. Howling Winds should hopefully get a letter soon about it."
<Melua> Melua popped 2 light spears into the air before grabbing one in each hand, and spinning in a cyclone, shooting them out at the corrupted priest, one aimed at each shoulder. "Who do you work for? This isn't connected with the other man I saw, is it?!"
* Reyna nods her head gratefully "Thank you."
* Erin`Marias drops out of her stream of thought for a moment, faintly nodding to Ember. "...that does sound a little off, I guess?" She muses out loud.
<Anna|Storyteller> Florivet nods to Mirage and then turns his gaze back to Ember, smiling faintly, "That Golden Sun they worship, doesn't you think it has an oddly... greenish tint about it?" He asks her, sitting back on the bed, Da-xia blinking at that.
<_Ember_> Ember hmm'd. "Now that you mention it..."
* Mirage_ raises an eyebrow. "Well. That's certainly a place to start, I admit. Thank you." He looks around the group, chuckling. "Anyone else have questions for the nice demon before we get to work?"
<Anna|Storyteller> Melua's first thrown light blade goes wide, slamming into the wall, the second slashing a thin line across Brother Azure's side. Then Singer steps forward, swinging with her Soulsteel Reaper Daiklave, only scoring another shallow cut across his chest. Azure laughs loudly, "If that's the best you've got, tearing you apart is going to be so very easy." A second vitriol blade forms in his other hand, the pair of blades shifting to look like lightklaves.
<Reyna> "...Not at the moment, but I'd like to pick his brain later. He seems interesting," Reyna replies quietly.
<AureusSila> After admiring his handiwork for a bit, Ancelin rises up from the sandy floor. "This'll do for a start" He scoffs in contempt. "Time to set the wheels in motion" He walks out the nearest exit in search of the others, carrying a bit of sand in his closed fist and bleeding from his side.
<Lionel> "No, I have no questions"
* Erin`Marias looks up at Mirage, snapping out of her half-thought. She shakes her head lightly. "No more questions here."
* Mirage_ nods. "Well then, I think we'd better get looking," he says, reaching out to bro-pound Florivet. "Unless there's something else you have to say, or something you need. I think I owe you one by now."
* Melua spends 2 personal motes as her wings unfold and shimmer with essence fabric, smiling mischeviously as she takes a few steps back and activates graceful crane stance with 3 peripheral motes. "You sure you want to beat up on two innocent women?"
<_Ember_> "Only thing I want from him is for him to get out of my room."
<Anna|Storyteller> Florivet chuckles and bro-pounds Mirage, starting to shimmer and fade, "I'll catch up with you again. We still have some business to resolve, as it stands. Good luck." He vanishes from view. Brother Azure grins are Melua, staring at her intently, "My Master Malfeas knew that the Ebon Dragon had pawns in this city! Why do you serve him, Lawgiver?" He takes a step forward.
<_Ember_> Ember tapped the folder. "I'd prefer if the rest of your friends didn't invade my space. Now do you want to take a look at this or not?"
* Mirage_ grins and rubs his hands together, turning to Ember. "Of course. I'm sorry for dragging Florivet into your business; what do you have? And, should we all stick together or split up into two teams? And where the heck has Aureus gotten to anyway?"
<_Ember_> "I'll let you decide on splitting up after you've read this." She hands him the folder.
* Mirage_ reads! What the heck is it?
* Erin`Marias glances at Ember and Mirage.
"I still say stick together." She offers, then stops. "...good question. Where did he get to?"
<Lionel> "Looks like he didn't follow us.. could he still be in the manse?"
<Anna|Storyteller> The information in the folders details all sorts of things regarding the city. It mentions how the Guild is already established here, despite the fact that this city is almost unknown of. It details how there are several Churches and Temples to the Unconquered Sun in the city. The folder indicates the larger ones gave Ember and odd feeling, while the smaller ones seem more legitimate, if secretive. Numerous prayers and rituals are included within, many of which sound quite suspicious.
<Lionel> "Hmm, the Guild is here? I wouldn't have expected that" says Lionel, looking puzzled.
* Mirage_ flips through it, then hands it to Erin and gives Ember a look. Maybe she's good for more than lighting stuff on fire. "That settles it then, I suppose. Let's go see if we can round up Aureus, then... that's a good point. Shall we start with the Guild or temples? And shall we be overt or covert, or both?"
* Lionel rummages around in one of his pouches for a while, muttering irritably, before pulling out a worn guild seal.
<Lionel> "Knew I still had this. Shall we give them a visit?"
* Lionel looks down at himself glowing "Though.. I may not be the best person to go"
<_Ember_> Ember just stared flatly back at Mirage before rumaging through her stuff again, pulling out all the ammo she had managed to manufacture. Shoving them into her coat pockets. "With this much firepower around in the form of exalts we could afford to be overt. We'd probably have the athority to barge in and ask questions but I doubt you'd get the right ones. So covert might be the better option."
* Erin`Marias flicks through the report idly and nods. She passes it back to Ember after a moment more of reading it, having no further commentary.
<_Ember_> Ember placed the report back in it's lockbox and shoved it back into the pack. Then sat down and looked to mirage again. "Could the rest of you except for mirage step outside for a moment? I must have a private word with him."
<Anna|Storyteller> The folder also contains all the information in Lizzie's forum post, and also has explicit details about the size, tactics and composition of Tomb's personal army. Da-xia blinks at what Ember says, "Okay, sis." She mumbles, staring at Mirage for a moment before stepping out.
<Melua> Her face twitching in hidden anger, Melua leapt onto the demon's blade, and extended her arm to just in front of Brother Azure's face. "No matter what they say, no matter how they try and make it so, I will -never- have another master, scum." Three darts then blasted out of the bracelet straight at his face.
* Lionel looks between Ember and Mirage, and smirks slightly before moving to the door. "Don't kill each other now"
* Erin`Marias smirks. "Try not to take too long, hmm?" She'll herd the others out if need be. "Come on you lot."
* Mirage_ shrugs. "Well with this many people we could have a few barge in and rattle things around, especially with Zhochen in on it. Then a few more watch to see who runs, track them down and shake them until answers come out." He blinks at Ember, raising an eyebrow curiously.
* Reyna shrugs. "Sure," she says to Ember, turning towards the door and wiggling her ears. "I'll even face the other direction."
<_Ember_> Ember makes a shoo motion towards the rest as they walk out. "You bother me, mainly your interest in me and my sister. You're also an exalt so ... I have even more reason to distrust you and your ... friends more then I'd distrust mortals, especially since there's more then one of you and I'm a but a single Dragon blessed. And currently my entire reason for existance is to protect my sister. So tell me ... what is the reason of your interest?" She said this rather calmly and flatly.
* Lionel walks downstairs and sighs "This aura is going to take about an hour to wear off, I hate glowing"

Re: EXALTED Reboot - Logs Updated 5/9/2010

Session 5 cont'd
* Mirage_ resists the urge to kiss Ember just to see what would happen. He'd have to pickpocket her flamepieces first, and that would be hard and probably make him glow by this point. Alas. "Psh. Your sister is a Solar. And despite the power that brings, a rather new one if I'm right. We Celestials have to stick together, you know."
<Anna|Storyteller> Brother Azure stares wide-eyed as those three shimmering blades of light are flung at him from point-blank range, barely able to even let out a cry as they pierce his face, chest and shoulder, doing untold amounts of damage. But something unexpected occurs. He doesn't die. He grins, despite the gaping hole in his face, and slashes both blades at Melua's legs.
<Anna|Storyteller> Brother Azure's face is a torn up mess, as are his chest and shoulder, the gaping wounds crawling with thick, bloodied white tendrils, like giant maggots swarming through his flesh.
<_Ember_> "No you don't. No more so then I have to stick with other dragonblooded. Also frankly you strike me as the slimy manipulative type so I have even -less- reason to trust you." she was somewhat agrivated at him dodging the question. "I can probably see your lot being interested in her wellbeing since she's but a child, but I detect more then that from you."
* Melua steps on each blade, doing an intricate dance, and finally leaping off at the final swing, using its momentum to carry herself to the opposite side of the room from Singer. (Leaping dodge method, 3 peripheral motes)
* ZhochenAnsol eventually, somehow, makes his way to Ember's current place of borrowed roofidence and knocks on the door.
* Mirage_ laughs and grins at Ember. "Oh, my lady, I AM the slimy manipulative type. But in this case, I'm YOUR slimy manipulative type. Why is this a problem? Anyway, I like her, that's all. She strikes me as a nice kid." He shrugs. "If you want to head your own way, by all means, do so."
<ZhochenAnsol> The knocking, in fact, occurred right when Mirage said "slimy manipulative".
* Erin`Marias yanks Zhochen aside. "They're busy."
<Anna|Storyteller> As soon as Melua jumps overhead, Singer uses the opening to lunge forward and drive her Soulsteel Reaper Daiklave into Brother Azure's throat. More blood splashes across the door, and the demon remains standing with the blade in his throat, still just barely alive, despite all the damage his body has taken.
* ZhochenAnsol somehow totally didn't see Erin there. Godsdamned 0 Awareness. "Oh. Hello there. I suppose. Did I miss much? I went looking for places of potential bad, but all I got was a nice noodle bistro. By the way, I found a nice noodle bistro, if you like noodles."
* Lionel gives Zhochen an odd look (This guy is damn strange)
* Erin`Marias gives him a flat stare. "Something tells me you wouldn't notice a Tyrant Lizard if it jumped up in front of you and roared." She sighs. "...did they put something in the food, or are you always this mad?"
<_Ember_> "Except if I opt to go my own way, I'm taking my sister with me. I'm not leaving her with you." She raised an eyebrow and leaned back. "On the other hand, I've been considering over the past few hours the advantage of a small army of exalts like yours ... it'd certainly make our issue of that persuing wyld hunt a bit lesser." she tilted her head to the side and Hmm'd. "I already figure you're interested in me because you want to recruit me? If so ... why?"
<ZhochenAnsol> "Look, it was my favourite, okay? You do not look down on beef noodle soup, especially if it's made with oxtail. It wasn't even godsdamned writhing like the stuff down at the place over on the other side of the city. You don't fucking go there."
* Lionel turns away at the mention of writhing food.
* Reyna shakes her head, rolls her eyes, and retreats away from the babbling madman into her own little world.

<Melua> (-4 motes from personal, spider foot style.) The smoky gold ring still glowing softly on her forehead, Melua jumps straight to the roof, flipping to throw a single light spear straight down onto the demon as she landed on the ceiling. "You disgust me, and you shame the temple of the mightiest god of Creation. Get out, stay out, and never come back."
<Mirage_> "Well I would hardly expect you to leave your little sister with a pile of strangers. As for 'recruiting' you... why not? As I said, the more the merrier. You can obviously take care of yourself if you've made it this far and," he gestures at the folder containing the report, "you know the area. And as I said, I like your sister, she's a good kid. And anyone who would accept exile and probable death to save her probably isn't that bad."
* ZhochenAnsol just stares. "...You guys hate food, huh."
<AureusSila> Suddenly Aureus stumbles into the hallway(right?) outside Ember's room, bleeding from his side and looking mostly messy. "There you are, I've been looking all over for you" His voice is just a little faint and he's panting.
* ZhochenAnsol stares at Aureus. "What happened to you?"
* Erin`Marias maintains the stare, looking decidedly unconvinced. Aaaand then Aureus arrives. "...what the crazy noodle-man asked."
* Lionel looks at Aureus before groaning in exasperation "This group is going to drive me insane"
<Anna|Storyteller> The demon collapses into a pool of writhing maggots and worms as the spear of light tears his head in two, those maggots squirming and wriggling and quickly shriveling and rotting away.
<_Ember_> Ember closed her eyes and sighed. "Fair enough. I still don't trust you farther then I throw you but that's just the feeling you give off" She shifted her postion towards the desk a little, leaning on it with one elbow. "I'll consider the idea, but I won't decide on it immediatly, I'll make my judgment based on how this whole situation turns out and how you lot handle it, I suspect you'll do the same likewise though it seems you alrea
<AureusSila> "I'd ask the man with the hourglass on his forehead" Aurues smirks. "But I'm afraid he's a little busy trying to collect himself. A futile effort of course, difficult to do without a head"
<_Ember_> She then opened her eyes. "Well it's only fair you ask your share of questions before we head out, may as well do so now and get it out of the way."
* ZhochenAnsol just throws his hands up. "I like food, oka-- Wait." His demeanor instantly shifts. "I take it you found and killed the vile wretch that attacked Seven?"
<_Ember_> (*I suspect you'll do the same likewise though it seems you already have." for the cutoff)
* Lionel puts his hand on Aureus's head "Can we have this conversation somewhere else, I need to treat Aureus"
<Anna|Storyteller> Singer looks suitably impressed, to say the least, staring at Melua and smiling faintly, "Wow. I've never seen weapons like that before. Are they from a charm?" She asked, lowering her sword staring at the demon-stuff coating her soulsteel blade, actually looking a little disgusted at the sight.
* Erin`Marias points at Zhochen. "You. Noodle-guy. Help the good doctor." She eyes Aureus. "Next time try not to run off without us."
<AureusSila> "I really wasn't doing much running" Aureus smiles weakly, dropping the sand he was holding. "But I think I wouldn't mind lying down for a bit"
* Lionel looks at Zhochen "Could you grab me some warm water please", before pulling Aureus towards the nearest empty room.
* Mirage_ laughs. "Fair enough. I don't particularly need to interrogate you to decide, either; right now I'm more curious about the demons. We'll just see how things go, hm? Let me know when you decide." He gives Ember his best charming-devil wink, then opens the door to step out.
* Melua jumps down from the roof, her essence glider kicking in to pause her in the air just before landing, stomping heavily on a fat maggot. "Actually...it's the bracelets." Looking up at Singer, she draws a shining saber out of a bracelet, before dropping it to the ground and letting it shatter in a burst of light. "It was a present from a museum impressed with my work."
* ZhochenAnsol runs downstairs and asks for some warm water, "stat", as they say. The innkeeper merely smiles warmly, runs to the back, and hands some to him along with some towels, smiling warmly. Zhochen offers his thanks quickly, at the same time slightly entranced by how her blue eyes seemed to twinkle. Regardless, that isn't important! He runs back up and passes some water to Lionel. "Here."
* Reyna watches Lionel take charge of the wounded... person's care, licking her lips nervously. "If he's going to stick with us, maybe we should look into some light armor or something?"
<_Ember_> Ember let mirage leave without any further fuss. "Da-xia come here! I need to talk to you."
<Anna|Storyteller> Singer blinks and looks to the bracelets, feeling a brief twinge of desire but shrugging it off easily, smiling a little at Melua's phrasing, "That's funny. That wouldn't happen to be the same Museum that was partially destroyed by a rogue automaton, would it?" Da-xia blinks and steps into the room, looking back at Mirage and offering him a bright smile before closing the door behind her, ...
<Anna|Storyteller> ... looking to Ember, "Is something wrong, sis?"
* Lionel looks worried as he peels the cloth back from the wound, and lightly touches it. "Thanks Zhochen". Lionel separates out a cup of water, and pours a little into his mortar, before beginning to clean the wound.
* Erin`Marias pulls Mirage aside as he steps out. "We f-- err, Aureus found us. Lionel has already dragged him off for treatment. Turns out he ran into one of the agents and killed it. Somehow."
<_Ember_> "No. After talking to him I think I'll be ok with working with these people. I however do want to know how -you- feel about them and what we should do." She leaned towards Da-xia and took her hands in her own.
<Melua> "You know, it's funny, I think it might have been! Small world of wonders, eh?" Melua grinned mischeviously.
* ZhochenAnsol nods at Lionel.
* Lionel puts some powder into the glass, and hands it to Aureus.
"Drink this. I apologise about the taste, but mixing this will take some time.. and I don't want to mess up"
* Mirage_ 's eyebrows go up. "Aureus is a man of hidden talents, it appears." Or a big fat liar, but... "Is he okay?"
* Melua starts looking around the temple for anything of interest, simultaneously trying to figure out if it could be converted to a rightous place of worship
<Lionel> "It will make you drowsy". Lionel turns to Mirage "He will be, he seems to have picked something up for his troubles"
* Reyna nervously nods at Mirage, edging towards the stairs. "Apparently."
<Anna|Storyteller> Singer laughs a little and finds a cloth to wipe her sword down with, swearing as the stuff on the sword starts eating through the cloth, tossing it away. Finally, she sheathes her sword, "Small world indeed." Da-xia blinks and squeezes Ember's hands, smiling a little, "They seem nice. We should stay with them. There's... something about Mirage. I feel... I don't know... like I know him."
* Erin`Marias shrugs lightly. "I didn't get a good look at it, but it looks like he got a good knife to the side or so. I'm sure Lionel has things under control."
<_Ember_> Ember hmm'd at that last bit. "Alright then we will for the time being." She let go of Da-xia's hands and stood up, stretching as she stepped outside. "Are we ready to go yet?"
<Anna|Storyteller> Melua has a bad feeling about this whole place, truth be told. With the demon dead, all those golden sun symbols now glow a very obvious and menacing green, mimicing Ligier's tainted light, paint on the walls peeling away faintly. There's nothing holy in this place.
<AureusSila> Aureus downs the whole glass in one go, not one to bitch about medicine, controlled by an insane first age solar or not.
<Reyna> "Iiii'l wait downstairs," Ms Malach mutters, disappearing from sight.
<_Ember_> Ember raised her eyebrow, curious about Reyna. "What's her problem."
* ZhochenAnsol looks at the medicine slightly disdainfully. "Do you think fruit flavours would make that taste better? Actually, would they have detrimental effects to the medicine itself?"
* Melua sighs, disappointed, and checks for additional rooms, hidden or otherwise. "There has to be clues in here somewhere...Is your blade okay, Singer?"
* Lionel smiles at Aureus just downing the drink "Tougher than you look, I've had 'warriors' be unable to drink that"
<Erin`Marias> "It seems most of us here are crazy in some form or another. Get used to it." She grins a bit at Ember.
<Anna|Storyteller> Singer nods her head a little and smiles faintly, "Takes more than demon-stuff to damage Soulsteel, fortunately." She mumbles, "We should probably rejoin the others now. This... is troubling."
<Melua> Turning around, Melua smiled. "Why, scared?"
<_Ember_> Ember scowls at Erin. "Uh ... not overly disturbing insane I hope"
<Erin`Marias> "Not that I've noticed." She doesn't seem to be intimidated by the scowl.
* Lionel sets about preparing the salve with which to place over the wound
<Anna|Storyteller> Singer looks a little worried, "When the Yozi are involved? Always. Let's go." She murmurs, stepping out and blinking, making her way towards the Inn that has a blazing bonfire of essence flowing from the windows.
<Anna|Storyteller> Session End.
<_Ember_> Ember sighed and facepalmed a little.

Name: Improper Object of Desire
Type: Demon-Blooded

Improper Object of Desire is the daughter of a 17 year old female yozi cultist who ran away from home, and a Demon of the Second Circle under one of the Ebon Dragon's souls, named _____. _____ is the so called Educator of the Night, and represents the strategy of indoctrinating, conditioning, and brainwashing both your own children and the enemy's children to gain a power base. His appearance is somewhere between a kind educator and tutor, and a bat.

While both mother and daughter survived childbirth, Desire's mother, whom she never knew the name of, went insane after delivery, and after recovery, fled into the wilderness. While her demonic father doesn't seem to have any interest in her, the cult raised her. Even though she was of demonic origin, they did not revere her. Instead, they viewed her as a tool their dark lords sent to assist them. And so Desire became an unholy servant, everything from sweeping and cleaning shrines, to cooking for the priests, to helping them carry books, and even help research minor things when they needed to look through lots of tomes at once, once they discovered she learned how to read.

Within a few years, it was discovered that she just wouldn't grow older. The cultists took this as an omen that she was to forever serve them. As for Desire herself, she didn't really know a better life, didn't particularly desire one. She wasn't very fond of her demonic heritage at all, and thought most of the rituals were gross and/or unhumane. She didn't mind cleaning or other chores, finding solace in their simple, repetitive motions. She managed to pass decades like that, never aging, just being passed from one cult to the next, sometimes only days before the Wyld Hunt came through. She seemed oddly lucky in that regard.

Desire had only one real passion, and that was cooking. She discovered that the tiniest alteration in seasonings, ingredients, or amounts drastically altered the end product. She loved exploring the nuances of ingredients, and slowly compiled a journal of cooking, documenting what ingredients have what affect on taste, the differences in cooking methods and lengths of time, and a few theoretical guesses at more exotic ingredients she heard about but didn't have access to. While her masters tended to be grateful for her gift at cooking, they rarely indulged her requests for expensive cooking equipment and ingredients.

Desire herself looks to be a mere 12 year old girl (and a small one at that), standing 4'3" and 76 pounds. She has, in fact, lived 41 years. Along with her very fair skin that never tans no matter how much sun she gets and large pointed ears, she has long, wavy, crimson hair that, undone, reaches her thighs. Normally, though, she braids them into two long braids, and pins them in two spirals behind her head, giving her the appearance of having two rounded rear-facing horns. She also likes to add a large (preferably frilly) bow on each side of her head, but will occasionally use flowers. Desire has two large bat-wings on her shoulder blades, but she almost always keeps them tied and bound together and under her dress. As a result, she cannot use her wings very easily at all, but they are almost impossible to see beneath the ornate dress. The dress itself is a very frilly and fancy version of a maid's uniform, since she never grows out of it, she frequently gets to wear one dress until it wears out, and makes many alterations, adding on lace and such tastefully. Under this, she wears simple white underwear, though it is almost always covered by a pair of stockings. She does not wear a top under her dress for several reasons; she never grew a chest that needed support, and her wings make wearing a top difficult. Her shoes are rather simple boots.

Being a servant, she has no real posessions to speak of, owning only her dress, a sachel for collecting ingrediants, her cooking journal, and a long strip of red cloth. The last two items almost never leave her possession, normally being stored in pockets inside her dress. The long strip of cloth is used for one important reason: To blindfold herself when meeting people she might make eye-contact with. For her eyes do not truly have a color, instead, they refract the madness of Malfeas, and scenes of demons dancing and all the terrors of the demon city are seen by those who look into them, terrifying most. Thus, she blindfolds herself. She's not completely blind, though, her heritage gifted her not only the wings, but also the ability of a bat to see through sound, and sound reflections. It's not very precise, and she can't read, or determine color, or see details, but she can see the shapes of people and objects sufficiently for many tasks. Such enforced solitude has only urged her to become more lost in drudgery and cooking.

Exalted is going new and interesting places, so here's some new and interesting logs! >_> Ignore the fact that there's like six months worth of logs that I never posted.
Anna|Storyteller: Okay, so you're all in the hidden base of the Cult of BlahBlah cover for Gold Faction Sidereal shenanigans. You're getting talked at by Peony Blossom, who's telling you all about their wonderful group and perhaps wondering if you'd like a glass of koolaid. While she's talking at you, however, a faint sphere of light starts flickering in amongst you, starting as a small glowing dot, and steadily expanding. Da-xia turns and stares at it, transfixed.
_Ember_: Ember also stared, blinking at the odd sight and speaking up to Peony. "Err... is that normal?"
* Lionel watches the sphere curiously
* Melua pretends it doesn't exist for the moment
Anna|Storyteller: Peony stares at it, furrowing her brows, "I... have no idea what that is." She says, rising from her seat and taking a few steps back. At this point Aureus will finally be waking up, though he's still more or less out of it. The sphere of light starts expanding, larger. The first person it touches is Erin, the Lunar going wide-eyed as she's suddenly sucked into the expanding sphere of light.
* Melua regards that sphere a bit more alarmingly now and decides now would be a good time to stand up
* _Ember_ does one better and decides to back the fuck away from it, taking Da-xia's hand and pulling her up with her.
* Lionel stands quickly, shocked at Erin disappearing and backs away slightly "What the...". He looks down and steps to pick/drag Aureus out of the way.
Anna|Storyteller: You think maybe, just maybe, you heard a cry coming from the sphere, sounding like it was coming from very far away. Something almost like "I wasn't interested in listening to a bunch of boring sun-lovers anyway!" But you can't be sure. The sphere is expanding at a rapid rate, though. Whispers try to scramble out of the way, but is quickly sucked in. Then Reyn, and finally it bursts outwards, ...
Anna|Storyteller: ... starting to engulf the whole room. Peony stares wide-eyed, "I'm out." She says, somehow disappearing away by some means or another.
Lionel: "Well shi-" is all Lionel gets out before Aureus and Himself get dragged into the sphere.
_Ember_: Ember shielded da-xia with her body right as the light exploded outwards, resisting the urge to call Peony a coward for teleporting away.
Anna|Storyteller: Unfortunately for Melua, escaping this ever-expanding sphere of light seems impossible. Eventually it engulfs the entire group, and everything turns black. Then slowly, slowly, they're surrounded by light again as they flicker into existence in the middle of a candle-lit room, in the middle of a circle painted into the floor, surrounded by robed figures chanting in a language they'd never heard. All their artifacts, all their items, everything they had on them in fact, including their clothing, is gone. The chanters stop and stare, gasping as they appear. Two men, back from the group, start talking to each other in a different, but equally incomprehensible language, looking at each other, and then to the group.
* Lionel looks down at himself, before glancing around at the group and mutters "At least we aren't waking up on a slab this time" to himself. He puts Aureus down on the floor with a sigh before looking at the group in black blankly,
Melua: Shaking her head, Melua seemed much more bothered by her lack of armaments than lack of clothing, as she felt her bare wrists uneasily. "...Hello." Melua tried greeting them without hostility.
_Ember_: Ember groaned as she woke up, blushing slightly as the realization she was naked and without weapons... the urge to use her fists rising though, she covered herself with her hands and glared at one of the robed figures... the lack of knowing their language makes it harder for her to request clothes... she was tempted to beat the shit out of one of them and take their robe.
Anna|Storyteller: The two men look over to them again as they speak. One of them is unrobed, instead wearing an outfit that seems rather strange, though it's not entirely unfamiliar, consisting of straight black pants, smooth and crisp, a matching jacket, with a shirt and a tie underneath. His head is bald. He looks to be roughly middle-aged. He gestures to the chanters and they quickly scamper out of the room, then he steps up to the circle slowly, starting to speak as he examines them. At first his words are once again incomprehensible, at least at first, but after a few moments they start to be able to understand him, like the knowledge of this new language was slowly filtering into their minds, "-Seems like your alterations to the spell were a fuck up again, Arthur. What is this? A bunch of naked people?" He gestures, "All I asked you for was to alter a demon summoning spell to try and reach out further, into another world, and you... wait." He stops and stares at Melua, "Green hair. Hm."
Melua: Melua smiled as charmingly as she could under the circumstances
_Ember_: "I'm going to burn down this fucking building if you don't get me some clothes right now." ember demanded, glaring at the bald man while covering herself. Tact was for people who weren't teleported into a room naked and unarmed.
Anna|Storyteller: The man stops and flicks his gaze towards Ember, "So they speak English." He observes with a deep voice, "Burn the building down? We're surrounded by concrete and steel, so I doubt you'd have much luck, but curious that you should claim such abilities. What are you? A demon?" He asks, though his gaze flickers back to Melua, that smile... that body... brrr.
* Lionel starts chuckling "Well damn, I swear weird crap follows this group around. Quite a summons." He looks a little crazy.
_Ember_: she immediately burned a few essence to light her body on fire. "No, but I've killed some and you look quite fragile."
Melua: Melua's smile flickers a little, but decides to keep it up as she can. "What I am," she said carefully, "Is cold. English, you say? ...Well."
* Melua sighs. "On second thought, I have a bonfire right here to keep me warm."
Anna|Storyteller: The man raises a brow, his hands in his pocket, his gaze drawn back to Ember and her pyromantic display, "Well well. I do think you found me something special after all, Arthur. We'll discuss your reward later. For now, go get these fine people some robes." The robed figure moves to do just that. Whispers is standing there looking bewildered, albeit not at all uncomfortable with her present state of undress, while Da-xia is wide-eyed and rather embarassed, covering herself with her arms as best she can.
* Lionel , still grinning like an idiot kneels down and shakes Aureus to wake him up properly. "Wake up little sorcerer, I'm sure this would be of interest to you."
_Ember_: She growled, slipping on the robe she was provided, it was not the greatest but she wasn't naked anymore, her anima still roaring since it wasn't like you could just turn one off after igniting it. "Where the malfeas is this damn place? Why are we here?" she inquired further.
* Melua looks all around the room, in no huge hurry to get dressed. "I think everyone probably has a few questions, here."
Anna|Storyteller: Something all of you begin to notice, now that you're settling in, is that the air around you feels... different. The amount of Essence in the air is small, very small, compared to the Essence-rich environment of Creation. You now regain only one mote every two hours. Everyone is handed robes, and Da-xia dressed quickly, "Yes indeed, I have many questions myself." The bald man says, "Perhaps you'd all like to come upstairs and we can discuss this over some wine, while I see about acquiring you some more appropriate attire, hm?"
Anna|Storyteller: The room itself is rather bare. Smooth concrete walls, with little that stands out about it other the inscriptions and symbols painted all over the walls, the floor, the ceiling, and the large circle they're still standing in.
_Ember_: She sighed seeming to relax slightly. "Erm... it's made of stone and metal right? I can't turn this off, it takes a bit to die off... the air here is wrong... do you guys feel that?" she whispered slightly.
* Melua nods, and gets a robe on. "Interesting..." she says, looking everywhere.
* Lionel pulls on the robe he is given and wraps Aureus up in one, and picks him up (again ¬.¬). He flexes his other hand slightly, looking slightly puzzled at how the air feels.
ZhochenAnsol: "What in Malfeas happened indeed." He swears again before leaning backwards and groaning. "My head..."
Anna|Storyteller: The man looks to Ember, "Hm. Well, I'm a little concerned you might damage my decor..." He observes wryly, shrugging his shoulders, "If you can control it enough to prevent it from burning through those robes, hopefully you can control it enough to not burn down my curtains, hm? Come along, then." He says, leading them to a solid steel door and opening it. He leads them up the stairs and into a rather large, wide-open room. Basically, it's a very large, very expensively appointed apartment. One wall is dominated by a large window staring out over a city. They're at least ten stories up, and the night is lit up by skyscrapers. The man moves to a cabinet, withdrawing classes and a bottle and pouring drinks, gesturing to the sofas around a coffee table, "Please, take a seat."
Anna|Storyteller: So, how does your character react to the fucking weirdness.
* ZhochenAnsol swears loudly.
ZhochenAnsol: "This is... this is..." He turns around to look at his fellows, a combination of a smile and a grimace on his face. "I dunno what this is!"
* Lionel dumps Aureus down on one of the sofas, before moving over to the window, tapping it lightly once before staring out of it with narrowed eyes and a grim expression. He turns to look at the man "Where the hell is this?" he says with a hint of hostility in his voice.
* Melua steadies herself against the wall and peers out the window, licking her lips lightly. "It's quite beautiful..."
_Ember_: She blinked at all the skyscrapers. "... not even the blessed isle has structures this high... and the lighting... those don't look like torches and it doesn't feel like there's enough essence to power essence lighting..." she murmured. "Where the hell are we..."
ZhochenAnsol: Zhochen turns to look at his apparent benefactor. "So. This is nice and pretty and all, but I'm not one for looks. What's most important to me is information. So. Information?"
_Ember_: "Information would be nice..." she murmured but also glaring at zhochen with a look of "Chill the fuck out." hypocritical maybe but he wasn't being overly hostile now.
Anna|Storyteller: "Well, information. That's tricky. It does sound like you come from quite a different world from this." He says, moving to hand out drinks, "This is Earth. The city of Manhattan, to be more specific. My name is William Blake, and I brought you here after finding my attempts to deal with demons to be... frustrating, to say the least. I had no idea what I'd find, or even if I'd find anything. But this is a pleasant surprise."
Anna|Storyteller: He takes a seat for himself, sipping from a glass of brandy, "So, now. Tell me what you are. Oh, and I guess names are important too."
ZhochenAnsol: "My name is Zhochen Ansol. I suppose my past is of no relevance to you, as I suppose it's all gone as of now." He sighs and waves a hand at the door he had appeared from. "I suppose you could call me a negotiator."
Melua: "I'm not surprised you've been having difficulty with summoning. The air's so...dead." Melua smiled cheerfully and bowed. "My name is Melua Maia Mala, I come from the Coral Archipelago, in the West of Creation. I am familiar with a great many skills."
Lionel: Lionel simply says "Lionel"
_Ember_: She frowned at melua. "Not dead... it doesn't feel like a shadowland. It's just... without essence." she said, then looking to this blake character. "Ember scorched lotus is my alias but my real name is Xia-He Cathak of the Blessed Isle in Creation. I am a fire aspect dragon-blooded." she said simply, turning her attentions back to the outside view.
Melua: "Well, empty, then. You're right, dead feels different."
Anna|Storyteller: "Creation? Is that the name of your world? Hm." He leans back, watching them through narrowed eyes and sipping at his drink, seeming to be listening to them very intently, processing every little piece of information. He snorts, a half-laugh as Lionel states his name and little else. Whispers raises a hand to her head, still looking dazed, "They're gone... I can't hear them. The voices are gone." William stares at her, then looks to Ember, "What voices is that woman speaking of. And what is a Dragon-Blooded, if I may ask?"
* Melua frowns, unsure what to say. It's rather a private matter, after all.
_Ember_: She blinked at his question. "I've no clue what voices she's talking about... I guess her undead masters ... what did she call them? The neverborn?" she shook her head. "As for the dragonblooded... we are one of the types of ... exalted, we gain our great powers from the elemental dragons, you can take a guess whom I draw from." she pointed to Whispers. "She's a death knight."
* Lionel just stares out of the window, watching the lights.
* Melua wraps an arm around Whispers reassuringly.
Anna|Storyteller: "Hm." He raises his brows, "And are you all these... Exalted? Heh. That word exists in this world too. Perhaps whatever magic is letting you understand me is merely translating the word into something I understand. To Exalt means 'to raise up', to make something better than it was... and are you all Exalted?" He asks, gesturing at them, "Feel free to ask me questions. I'm sure you have many."
* Melua thinks for a second. "First question. You do not have much practice with summoning, correct?"
* Melua intentionally leaves the questions unanswered for a moment.
Anna|Storyteller: Whispers leans into Melua, furrowing her brows and seeming completely out of it. Da-xia is sitting next to her sister, staring intently at the glass she was offered. It was bubbling, popping occasionally. She was wondering if it was some sort of horrilble acid. She raised it slowly and sipped it cautiously, then gasped faint, "It's sweet..."
_Ember_: "The meaning of the word would be appropriate then since that's effectivly what we are... people raised up by the power of various gods." she then turned to the man. "I am the only dragonblood in this group though, just so you are not confused." she took a sip of her own wine, finding it ... well wine, then looking to Da-xia's drink curiously. "Is it? can I try some?"
Anna|Storyteller: Da-xia nodded and handed her glass of coke to Ember for her to try, after having another, larger sip. William nods his head slowly as he listens to Ember, smirking a little, "That is very fascinating... so you're endowed with the powers of Gods. That... that is intriguing." He then turns to Melua, smiling indulgently, "Oh, I assure you, I've had more practice than I care to have had. Demons are ...
Anna|Storyteller: ... vile creatures though, dark and twisted. Merely tormented at their best, and very difficult to control. Making any sort of bargain with them requires opening yourself to them in ways no man intelligent man would consider." He said, then shrugged, "As far as I know, nobody has ever successfully attempted to summon someone from another world, outside of this one."
* Lionel is looking down at his hands, where a great number of spinning shapes are forming. He has his eyes closed, and seems to be almost listening to something.
* Melua nods, and shrugs. "Telling you this goes against my grain, since in my land this fact alone serves as a death warrant in much of the world, but, yes, I'm a Solar, of the Night Caste." A faint ring appears on her forehead.
_Ember_: She stared at the fizzling drink then took a sip of it, tasting it. "it is sweet... but it's acting like the byproduct of alchemical fuel gone wrong, I'd expect somthing fizzling like this to burn a hole through my throat." she commented, handing the drink back to Da-xia. "Also lacking in alcohol it seems..." she then looked to Melua showing she was a solar, gesturing towards her with her thumb. "Indeed, it's actually my people that hunt her type and others that aren't dragonblooded basicly... I'm a bit of a outlaw in that regard."
Anna|Storyteller: "A Solar? As in... Exalted by the God of the Sun?" He asks, leaning back, seeming a little surprised, "That's intriguing. In this world, the Sun is... well, it's a giant ball of hydrogen undergoing nuclear fusion, around which our planet orbits. But you say the Sun in your world is also a God, and that you are imbued with his power. Amazing." He then looks to Lionel, raising his brows, "Let me ...
Anna|Storyteller: ... tell you, I have encountered many of the supernatural creatures that live in this world, but nothing I've seen compares to what you've shown me, with the exception of a Demon possessing a human host."
* ZhochenAnsol listens intently now. "Go on? About these demon possessions. Let us know more of it - as our purpose here seems to be... thin, we could do what we can to increase our capability in this place."
Melua: "nuclear phyushun?" Melua echoes quietly, confused
_Ember_: Ember also looked at the man curiously as he described the sun.
* Lionel seems to reach a conclusion, and turns around, flickers of essence still curling around his arms. He looks at William with a raised eyebrow "I don't know if this is normal for your world, but... this place may as well be dead as far as the underlying energy goes. It is... wrong." he says looking uncomfortable.
Anna|Storyteller: "Ah... I suppose if your world is as magical as it sounds, perhaps the physical laws function differently there, or perhaps with such potent magic there was never any need to develop advanced science..." William murmus thoughtfully, then glances to Zhochen, "Hm? Oh, demons. Once they've inhabited a human host they're usually tamer. Been trapped in the Abyss for millenium, they're a little crazy. But a few decades ago some started getting loose. They find a person who's dying, or... well, emotionally weak, pluck out their soul, and move in. The person's memory's and life apparently act as a buffer against their darker natures. Demons aren't really too much of a concern."
ZhochenAnsol: "So what would a concern be, then?"
* Melua tightens her arm around Whispers. "The Abyss...? Whispers, you sure you don't hear anything?"
_Ember_: Ember shut up for a bit and listened to all the talk going on, draining her glass dry of wine, it was weak stuff compared to must drinks she had, she also found the fact da-xia didn't have any alcohol in her's curious...
Anna|Storyteller: "Just... don't trust them. Ever. All their bargains have a high price." He frowns, "I suppose older vampires might be on your level of power, or perhaps werewolves, but I've never met any of them, or even heard more than rumors." He seems to be half talking to himself, "Oh, Zhochen, why do you think I brought you here because I have concerns? What I wanted was power. Why does any mortal dabble in magic? And now I find you... God Empowered Beings, and falling right into my lap. So to speak."
Anna|Storyteller: Whispers shakes her head slowly, "Nothing at all. The Neverborn are... gone."
_Ember_: She frowned as the man mentioned his reasons for summoning them, usual greed. "Typical, lust of power and greed." she sat back seeming irratated.
* ZhochenAnsol snorts. "Fine. What are your goals, and what would we get out of it? After all, if some of us are supposed to become your agents..."
* Melua cleared her throat. "Excuse me. I'd like to make a point. I've spent more than a small amout of time spending my life being controlled by people. Then I became a Solar. I don't intend to let it happen again."
_Ember_: "Neither do I for different reasons." she spoke up.
Anna|Storyteller: William raises his brows, "Well, what could I offer you? What is it that you want, exactly?" He asks, shrugging, "Money? I have money. What else would you want? I'm the one who brought you here, but I have not the faintest idea of how to send you back. So what will you do? Go out and explore a vast, foreign world that you barely understand? I think it's pretty clear that you need me. As for what my goals are... well, in the short term they're fairly straight forward, but they don't need to be dealt with immediately."
_Ember_: She frowned. "Well since we're not able to go back currently then I guess first thing we should ask for is information about where we are now, beyond this city... which I barely know anything about either."
* Lionel smiles "You say a lot without saying anything don't you"
Melua: "As for what you could offer? Weapons would be a good start. I feel defenseless like this," Melua muttered, rubbing her wrists again.
_Ember_: "Also I need a smoke..." she grumbled.
_Ember_: "And weapons, weapons sound good." she nodded at Melua.
ZhochenAnsol: "You keep beating around the bush with your goal. You mention that you have them, but you have not mentioned what they are. Money? I suppose some semblance of currency would be helpful for the time being. Identity, perhaps?" He closes his eyes and leans back. He has not touched the food.
Anna|Storyteller: "Weapons?" He asks with a faint chuckle, "Well now. Weapons I can do. Weapons I can most certainly arrange. Let me ask, what sort of weapons are you familiar with, in your world?" He laughs, "Don't worry about my goals. My goals are nebulous and unfathamable. In the short term, there's a... demon circle that I'd like dealt with, but that can wait until you've adjusted to this world some."
_Ember_: She frowned as she tried to find words to describe her choice of weapons. "Ranged... not bow and arrow thow... flame repeaters..." she then described the basic shape and design of her weapons to the man, using some silly hand gestures.
* Melua grows more interested. "Actually, that raises a good point. What kind of weapons do you use here? Daiklaves and lances? Bows? ...Those new crossbows I've heard about? Probably not essence cannons..."
Lionel: "With the levels of essence being this low here, I doubt the materials we commonly use could be found naturally in this world. Have you heard of Orichalcum or Moonsilver? Aspected Jade may be a bit much to ask too."
* Lionel looks down "I suppose Orichalcum could be refined, hmm." he mutters to himself
Anna|Storyteller: "Daiklaves? I'm not sure what those are... lances and bows haven't been used as weapons of war for centuries." He reaches inside his coat and withdraws a plain black 9mm pistol, "But what Ember described sounds like this. We have materials called silver, and jade, but orichalcum exists only as a word in mythology, and as a name for a bronze alloy." He holds up the gun, "This is called a gun." He points it at a wall and pulls the trigger, allowing them to witness it in action.
* ZhochenAnsol 's ears ring as he watches the bullet embed itself into the wall, which hopefully is pretty damn thick, Anna. "...Damn."
Anna|Storyteller: The wall is pretty damn thick, yes.
Melua: "...That's somewhat like your flamepieces, Ember. But alright. Do you have knives? Preferably balanced ones."
_Ember_: She wasn't bothered by the sound but the hole it put in the wall was impressive. "... it fires soild amuntion rather then burning fuel? Strange." she looked at it curiously, especially since it seemed to be magazine fed. "Seems to be lacking a loading cylinder. It is somewhat like my flamepieces besides the soild ammo and lack of said cylinder."
* Lionel starts, before sniffing the air "Sulphur?" he asks faintly "I would say a... gun would be useable."
_Ember_: "I'm going to need two." she further mentioned.
Anna|Storyteller: "Throwing knives exist, of course. And... hm. I'm tempted to put you lot in front of a computer and introduce you to wikipedia, but you'd probably just end up more confused." He mumbles, chuckling a little, "How do you explain a whole new world to people? Ahh... yes, I'm sure weapons can certainly be arranged, although magically enchanted weapons like I suspect you're probably used to are very difficult to attain. I know some demons capable of crafting magical items that are rather potent, but as I said, I'd not trust them."
ZhochenAnsol: "How common are things like these, anyway?" Zhochen points at the pistol.
* Melua shrugs. "I'm fine with normal knives, as long as they're easy to get."
_Ember_: she waved her hands. "My weapons weren't entirely magical like they described, they used some magical elements so they could benefit from attunment and my hearth... stone." she groaned as she realized her stone was gone. "eghhhh..."
* Lionel smiles "It is not so much an enchantment as the material itself. I would say it is possible to refine some of them, but then... this is not Creation, I don't know if alchemy works here."
Anna|Storyteller: "Hm? Oh. Very common." He says, then looks at them all, "Well, I will see about some knives for you, Melua. Guns I can arrange right now. I traffic in them fairly regularly. For now, I need to sort out getting identities for you... identities are important. Passports, licenses, birth certificates..." He mumbles, then gestures to Arthur, who has at some point changed into a suit similar to William's. He's a younger looking man in his twenties, with short brown hair and a scarred, harsh face, "Arthur, get them a computer. Television. Let them learn as much as they can about this world. Help them, and for god's sake, get them some proper clothes."
ZhochenAnsol: "I think we'll need guns." He nods. "Lots of guns."
_Ember_: "Yeah ... I'm gona want to take a look at your armory if I may. Your guns are different... I want to err... browse." she murmured, also nodding. "CLothes yes... and ... whatever this computer and television is."
Melua: "Also, the nearest museum or Artifact repository, and what kinds of defenses they have. I mean, if you're not busy." Melua tries to look innocent.
Anna|Storyteller: Okay. Timeskip. You spend a day or two basically with Arthur trying his best to teach you all about the world. He shows you all television, hooks all of you up with internet access, and teaches you the basics of using it, and lets you all order clothing online, helping with sizes and what-not. And Melua learns, no doubt much to her disappointment, that museums on Earth are mostly made up of bones, dead bodies, artwork and the occasional piece of shiny jewelry. No magic artifacts or anything fun like that.
* ZhochenAnsol is now dressed in a snappy suit.
* Melua managed to be only mildly irritated while helping Ember and Whispers figure out what their sizes were
* Lionel has spent the better part of that time dismantling things he can get his hands on. His room looks like an electronics graveyard. Wears a dark grey pinstripe suit.
* ZhochenAnsol has also attained a pair of black sunglasses that he is now wearing incessantly
* Lionel has also picked up a white labcoat, it seemed necessary for doctors here.
Anna|Storyteller: Da-xia is dressed in bell-bottom jeans and a pink t-shirt, because she got bored of fashion pretty quickly and just decided it looked good enough, normal for girls her age to wear in this world, and comfortable.
Anna|Storyteller: Whispers is dressed like a goth.
* ZhochenAnsol 's player snorts.
_Ember_: Ember was... well she was rather giddy about the clothing, distracted from her need to even go to the armory so she hadn't done so yet. She probably bought such a large pile of clothing for herself it might've given their host a headache. Currently as of the end of the timeskip she was wearing a comfortible ruby red velvet blouse with pink lace trim and comfortible grey slacks with heels, also a grey denem jacket. Unlike her sister she'd never get bored with fasion, she also had bought some japanese styled clothing which might've surprised their host.
* ZhochenAnsol was probably researching firearms online.
Anna|Storyteller: Despite the fact that Zhochen has no ranged combat skills to speak of, he seems very eager to learn about shooties.
* Lionel just went "Whats the most powerful single hand weapon thats easily hideable"... they gave him a Deagle
* Melua has also ordered about 5 different outfits of various sorts, some of them mens, 2 black leotards, but decides on day wear of a tube-top, open windbreaker, and cargo pants.
* Melua also spends an inordinate time on the internet, fascinated with the concept of physics. THE WORLD IS ROUND, THIS PLACE IS FUCKING WEIRD
_Ember_: Ember didn't seem all that surprised once she learned that TV worked a bit like a magical recording and that the people it was showing weren't actually there... but what she saw was surprising, mainly the power of their weapons and how casually they used them. She too found the world being round weird as hell... everything they did here was so casual.
* ZhochenAnsol stares at another box that had been ordered and somehow delivered to him, then bellowed to the rest of the party. "Who the fuck bought this? Some sort of... magical girl outfit, or someshit? Come on, guys."
_Ember_: She found the internet more interesting though. "it's like a free unlimited libary... so much information freely avalible for the most part... what is this 4chan?"
Anna|Storyteller: 4chan is blocked. Webfilters bitch. No surfin' the #chans in this household~.
_Ember_: And the world is a much MUCH safer place for it, she wimpered sadly at the blocking. "Reminds me of the fucking isle."
* Lionel is fascinated with electricity, and reads a significant quantities of information about physics in general. "I have no idea, this "Wikipedia" is a treasure trove though. I seem to be getting recomended away from it a lot though. These "journal?" sites though... specific but very useful! The medicine here is both crude, yet insanely high tech." he glances away "How they haven't cured cancer or this "AIDS" I have no idea though."
* ZhochenAnsol walks to Melua's location and tosses the magical girl outfit at her. "Probably yours." He then promptly walks out.
* Melua is annoyed but amused by all the adult ads. "Nice to see some professions are universal..."
_Ember_: She nodded to Lionel, sitting on a couch in the same room as him but by herself on it. "Indeed... all these ... STD's they called them? Makes sex sound ... fucking dangerious in this world." she then blinked to Melua. "Yeah I saw those... also all these religions bitching about sex being a sin... weird thing to be complaining about compared to say... anathema?" she teased.
* Melua shrugs. "Oddly enough, they have some of the same diseases here, but yes, most religions make almost no sense compared to even the Immaculate Faith..."
_Ember_: SHe idly wondered what Da-xia is doing.
* Lionel grins "Well we are the root of all evil. Religion in this world though... they believe in Gods that aren't even manifest, that takes a lot of faith."
_Ember_: "Faith? More like blind stupidity." she spat.
Anna|Storyteller: Around the third day at around (exactly) midnight , there's a slight... um... explosion from the bedroom that Da-xia had claimed for herself. Then the door opens and she comes out, coughing and waving, "Don't worry. Don't worry. I'm okay. Everything's fine. Just a little... stray essence... nothing... serious..."
_Ember_: She frowned, still browsing the interbutts. "Did you try summoning demons again?"
Lionel: "Hah yes, it seems that recently their science has shaken them up significantly yet they still hold true. Reminds me of that damn grandson of Innerosia"
_Ember_: She then turned her attentions back to the computer. "This country we live in... the United states of america... seems awfully paranoid about peasents with guns and crude bombs. Almost to the point of tyranny lately. We better be careful here least we be marked as ... "terrorists."
Anna|Storyteller: "... A little bit. So it turns out whatever they have for demons here aren't anything like what we have. Had to change the spell a lot, and even then when I couldn't bind it and I banished it away it sort of... went boom." She mumbles, coughing and wheezing just a little bit, "I think I made it angry."
_Ember_: "Don't do that again then." she quiped at her sister. "Or at least have someone armed on hand when you do."
Lionel: "I think its just their society... theyre all connected together by television and the internet, all telling them conflicting things. I can see it breeding massive hysteria."
_Ember_: "True... some of their news networks appear to thrive on breeding hystera in fact... this "fox news" is hilarious."
_Ember_: She then sat back, closing the laptop gently. "Mmm... I need to find that arthur person and ask if they have an armory on hand or if I'm gona just have to order my weapons."
Anna|Storyteller: Weapons have been supplied and I will get into the specifics of it in teh next session.
Lionel: "'Kay, later." Lionel goes back to reading.
Melua: "I need to get an airplane. Maybe one of those big ones. How hard could they be to fly? ...Wait, they don't use magic?"
_Ember_: She blinked then opened up her laptop again. "Eh it can wait. I'm not gona die for centuries anyway so long as I keep a low profile ... I like their clothing here. It's also kinda relaxing... this world."
_Ember_: She looked up at Melua. "No they use some sort of science... I got the gist of it down but it's hard to explain in one sitting and I'm no erm... engineer."
Lionel: "Flying? Something called aero.. dai.. namics I think? Something to do with the air and pressure anyway."
_Ember_: She nodded to Lionel. "Somthing like that... it's to do with the shape of the wings if I recall but there also has to be a propeller of some sort."
Lionel: "Or these things called jet engines." Lionel grins "Controlled explosions to make things fly sounds dangerous
Melua: "Actually...most of this is paralleled in some old Essence-theory texts I've read. Their mathematics look odd, but I think I'll get it in a week or two."
Anna|Storyteller: Da-xia points out at one point she thinks it's kinda funny and ironic that solar power is becoming more popular in this world. Solar Power. Tehehehe. She thinks it's a very clever joke.
Lionel: "Really?" Lionel raises his eyebrows. "Hmm, makes you wonder if our world would have gone down similar routes had essence not been so available."
Melua: "Maybe. It's too much information to process."
Lionel: "Definately. The people in this world spend a hell of a lot of time in organised education, its quite a gap to catch up with"
_Ember_: Ember also found that amusing, she also expressed some concern that Da-xia would have to be enrolled in some public education facility and would likely need a guardian.
Anna|Storyteller: Da-xia also is greatly disappointed that she's too young to drive. She thinks driving a car would be awesome. Then she asks Arthur if they can buy a car and he just stares at her intensely, his scarred face twitching just a little, as he gives a terse response in the negative.
_Ember_: She caught this. "Hey, what the hell is your problem with my sister?"
* Melua decided that "buying" one probably wasn't a problem anyway.
Anna|Storyteller: Arthur is alays terse.
_Ember_: She decided to browse the weapons on wikipedia. "Oh my... so many gun types... so many flavors of fighting at range... assult... shotguns... sniper rifles..." she seemed a bit giddy and nerdy about this.
Lionel: "Saying that though... if only from my experience a Solar is capable of learning massively more quickly than anyone not Exalted. I'm sure Da'Xia and all of us will catch up quickly." He looks at Ember thoughtfully "Do Dragonbloods have a greater capacity to learn like this too?"
_Ember_: She shrugged. "I suppose, I think it's a thing for all exalts but dragonbloods do put a bit of emphasis on education early..."
_Ember_: At this point she was wearing a castro hat that was pink
_Ember_: She felt her hair idly as she also looked at the many women of this world and noticing none of them had natrual pink hair. "... I'm going to stand out like a sore thumb with my hair..."
Melua: "You could shave it," Melua said amused.
Lionel: "Hmm? I guess thats how you have remained a power so long." He smiles and leans forward, evidently curious. "All of the Dragonbloods I've met have been tight lipped about their early lives. Would you mind giving me..." he grins a bit more. "A summary? I guess."
Lionel: "Heh, the colours here are a little boring if you ask me... So little variation in what people look like comparatively"
_Ember_: "melua I will hurt you so much." she said back seriously glaring at her.
* Melua shrugs. "Or at least cut it close and wear a hat."
_Ember_: She then looked at Lionel a bit stearnly. "Well... it's pretty strict, school, training, learning social graces... stuff like that. More social graces on my part then training... believe it or not. I learned how to fight really after evactuating my sister from the isle, before that I was just a casual shooter in order to get my parents to shut up about me not going into military service, being a cathak and all that..."
Melua: "So, do you just choose not to use said graces, or were you a bad student?" Melua teases
* Lionel 's smile fades a bit "Training to be rulers then?" Lionel looks away in thought for a moment, before turning back "Thanks for telling me, it would explain how some Dragonbloods act."
Aureus_Sila: Aureus walks into the room slamming the door behind him and throwing an ipad-looking device through the room at the opposite wall. "I've just about had it with this place and I wish to return as soon as possible!"
_Ember_: She glared at Melua. "I choose not too. Running from the law of the land while keeping my sister from blowing herself up does nothing good for my patiance. And neither do you." she snapped back before turning to Lionel again. "Yeah basically that... your welcome." she then blinked at Aureus but ingored him because he's a crazy fuck.
* Lionel blinks in surprise "I thought you would be interested in a place like this Aureus." he looks out of the window before turning back "I don't see how you can't be."
Melua: Trying to not look self-satisfied, she looked up at Aureus. "I'm not sure I want to go back yet, but I would like to look into figuring out how to."
_Ember_: "Yeah this place is kinda awesome. I'm wondering what your problem with it is." she said while typing, grumbling at melua teasing her.
Lionel: "Even the food here is interesting. Though they seem to be obsessed with overly sweet foods here, can't say I understand that."
Aureus_Sila: Aureus throws his arms into the air in exasperation. "Are you all kidding me?! Look at this place! A spherical sattelite orbiting a sphere of fire in an apparently endless universe! Nothing I ever do here will ever matter!"
_Ember_: She sighed, closing her laptop. "It's late, I'm tired, Aureus is crazy and annoying, Melua is snarky and annoying even though I owe her so much shit, so I'm going to bed before someone really pisses me off. Goodnight."
Melua: "Love you too, Ember. Try to sleep well, though this essence makes it hard."
Lionel: "Sleep well" Lionel says to Ember, before frowning slightly and turning to Aureus "Thats... one hell of a pessimistic view. Even if it doesn't matter to you who is to say what you do doesn't matter to others? Or are you truly that self centered?"
_Ember_: She snerked at that. "Don't worry about it, I'm just cranky when I'm tired." waving it off. "Yeah I'll try. Not too hard here though... the beds are damn nice." she said as she walked off towards her room and closed the door silently.
Melua: Looking up at Aureus, Melua shook her head. "Aureus, don't you get it? These explainations aren't complete. They think some crazy ideas about fate, they don't understand their own science, and the fact that there IS essence eludes them!"
Aureus_Sila: Aureus glares at Lionel. "Self-centered? Self-centered?! Did you forget what you are?! A chosen of the unconquered sun, handpicked to nurture, defend and rule over creation! This is not creation, and it seems like I'm the only one who feels the slightest bit of guilt about leaving it behind!"
* Melua pats the seat beside her. "Aureus, it's okay. You're right, we have things to do, we'll get home."
* Lionel spreads his arms "I am what I am, what I do with myself is my own choice. I am not going to be bound by expectations of grandeur from a god who seems to have himself abandoned Creation. And us."
Aureus_Sila: Aureus, now panting lightly from exerting himself shouting, slowly slips down on the seat next to Melua and hunches up. "You don't get it Lionel... Back there, is a world that depends on our presence. Countless people that could suffer for eternity if we don't save them. This is an alien place that seems to be absolutely thriving on it's own. ... I want to go home" He pulls his knees up to his chest and buries his face in them.
Lionel: "I understand that completely. And I will do something about it. But can't you see the possibilities of this world, safe from the Immaculate Order, and free from things like the Gentleman? If nothing else here is where we can grow in... relative safety. The people of this world live no longer than those in ours. We have quite an advantage over them after all."
* Melua puts an arm around Aureus and holds him gently. "I'm not entirely sure they're unconnected. He mentioned the Abyss, and demons... at the very least, we have to understand this world better before we can figure out a way back. I'll be counting on our cute sorceror to master this problem. Think of it this wou're probably the best person on the entire planet at sorcery."
Aureus_Sila: Aureus quickly turns red all the way up to his ears. "I... I just can't accept this place as a truth. Not everything I know is true here. It feels too strange, too different" He sighs slowly. "I never had much in creation, but I have even less here"
Lionel: Lionel smiles reassuringly "At least you aren't alone."
Aureus_Sila: "If I was I think I'd rather be dead" Aureus looks up and out a window. "Oh well... I guess we'll just make the best of it. Thank you, Melua, Lionel. Maybe this won't be so bad after all"
* Melua hugs Aureus. "Don't worry, it'll be fine. If there's anything you need, ask; it shouldn't be too hard for me to get if I know where to get it."
Lionel: "And if Melua doesn't the internet sure seems to."
