It won't. It will go back into orbit to collect more data on the planet's atmospheric composition, weather patterns, etc...

#1 I do not appreciate accusations of being retarded. It is unjust to retarded people to give them a negative association.

#2: Ken does not have crew quarters. He has a pod. This ship has like, 2 rooms. Where do you expect me to think he went?

Addendum to #2: I think what you said works better. Don't try to retcon it. Adi is becoming rather creepy and obsessed.

#1: I've already complained about you being an unobservant reader.

#2: It doesn't really matter where he went. He just went somewhere else.

Addendum to #2: Write what you know, I suppose.

@T-002:
Err, I didn't really think that one of you would go and light one on fire.

It gives off some smoke, nothing special. Maybe a bad smell - but you're in an environmental suit anyways. Not much different from burning an Earth leaf.

For sake of expediency, everybody just assume that we've already set up camp and everything.

"Plants" must be interpreted loosely to include any non-consumer organisms here. Lichen-like stuff. What else are we going to get samples of?

Before any of you get ahead of yourselves, the spongy stuff on the planet aren't plants in any manner of the word. They're more like sea sponges or coral, really. I wasn't planning on telling you this, but I'm taking no chances with 'storyline liberalness'.

Ladies, Gentlemen, you may thank Adi for getting you all royally screwed over.

Wait . . . what are sea sponges and coral, then?

At any rate, the composition of the spongy floor is neither intrinsic to my post nor to the story as a whole. Does my post need changing, or can we just roll with the basic idea of stuffing something off the floor into a sample tube?

Also, way to go DT.

That's . . . a good point. So we're sitting around a campfire smashing rations into our faceplates . . . ?

Because plastic tubes to put on your astronaut food haven't been invented yet. Idiots.
