As suggested to me by Lizzie, this thread splits off the rping from the custom ships thread, which will now be only for the custom ships.
The TGE fleet thread can be found here, and the databank thread, here.

And to kick things off:

(From Preserver point of view) The Preservers have met two new powerful alien races, the VSE and the IVL, on the opposite side of TGE space from the Scinfaxi. Hoping to get their support, the High Preserver has sent out diplomatic teams to start negotiations, with heavy escort groups to ensure their arrival. The ambassadors have been given orders to offer the following terms:
-Formal alliance between the (IVL/VSE) and the Preservers.
-The (IVL/VSE) will immediately declare war against the TGE and the Scinfaxi.
-(IVL/VSE) will not need to offer non-military support at all, or military support past the war efforts against the Scinfaxi and TGE.
-(IVL/VSE) traders will be allowed full access to Preserver markets.
-(IVL/VSE) will get priority to spoils of war, including territory, POW, and captured ships.

Yes, I do enjoy writing up these little treaties. And yes, I am also aware of the current VSE-Scinfaxi alliance. This could get interesting...
Arcane, you said you wanted stuff to shoot at? Now you get a choice!

----Message from the MRA governing council----

It is not our intention to wage war on anyone else than the To'Hol Venaari. The terms in the treaty you offer would force us to break other treaties with allies who have already offered their (more valuable) assistance, and if asked for assistance we will lend that to them. We will not, however, be lured into a trading treaty that we would never be allowed to conduct, due to the fact that that would surely spread the Plague amongst your people.

That said, we are commited to the treaties we already made and will lend full military assistance to all and any of our allies that request it.

To the Preserver governement we can only way this; an attack on us or our allies would bring you the wrath of the largest alliance of races currently in existence. Take that as a warning.

----End of message----

After many more long hours of unsuccessfully trying to get the VSE to reconsider their decision, the Preserver diplomats departed to report the bad news to the High Preserver. However, the negotiations had revealed the existence of many other races to the Preservers, and that information could prove highly useful in the long term.

In response to a large contingent of unknown (Preserver) warships entering IVL space without clearance, authority, or reason. The IVL military ordered a small fleet to intercept them and destroy them upon contact.

As of 0500 this morning. The entire unknown fleet was purged. However the "black-box" from the lead ship was recovered and was undamaged. After processing the information from the device, the IVL military now knows the source and purpose of this fleet that was sent into IVL space.

These "Preservers" have been deemed a threat until otherwise specified. An ambassador is being sent with a small fleet towards the TGE homeworld to gather more information from them about whats going on and why IVL has become involved with their civil war.

The empress greatly hopes the TGE government will comply with our request.

(TGE perspective) Upon arrival of the IVL fleet, TGE tensions were high. After communications were established, Emperor Tevalsh was quick to provide the information requested by the IVL fleet.
TGE Database Entry #002854-00 wrote:The Preservers originated as a group of civilians who were greatly discontented with the nation of Iss'engir placing their previous leader as the head of the Tul'thurian Galactic Empire. They also generally shared the idea that the crashed alien vessel was a failed invasion attempt, or part of a conspiracy for Iss'engir to sieze control of Tul'thare with the TGE. Early on, they resorted primarily to peaceful protests, and the more radical members rarely committed crimes past petty mischief. As such, the Preservers were largely ignored by the TGE ruling bodies, and were left to police forces to deal with.
This attitude changed when the Preservers claimed responsibility for the Dar'denen Heist, where 72 TGE ships were stolen from drydock. Since this event, TGE policy towards the Preservers has been purely hostile, and the Preserver forces always had a sizable number of stolen or copied TGE vessels.
The Preservers have demonstrated a proficiency for secrecy over the years, as few bases have been uncovered while they were still in use, and they seem to prefer basing their main operations outside of TGE space. They have also demonstrated several unique retreat tactics, which have proved highly successful.
The Preserver attitude towards factions other than the TGE or the Scinfaxi seems to be much more relaxed, as they are not xenophobic in general, although they are bordering on it. Due to their current state of being vastly outnumbered after the Treaty of Aldrekt, it is hypothesized that they will seek out other races to ally with to stand more of a chance at wiping out the Scinfaxi and removing the TGE from power on Tul'thare.
Along with the information, the TGE sent a request for a NAP with the IVL. The pact contained no terms aside from the mutual agreement to maintain neutrality, and that the IVL will continue to consider the Preservers as hostiles.

(Preserver perspective) The diplomats sent to the VSE returned uneventfully, with bad news, but with large amounts of information on VSE ships, politics, and other races, all obtained by passive and light active scans, or through communication with the VSE. Of particular interest was the information on the To'hol Venaari.
Several survivors from the IVL attack made their way back to the High Preserver. The three Gorene cruisers had been the standard rearguard for the convoy, and had stayed out of detection limits until the IVL had left. With such sudden violence recounted by these survivors, the High Preserver declared that the Preservers were now at war with the IVL, in response to the blatant act of war.
With one new enemy and the potential for many more, the High Preserver issued orders to lie low until a new ally could be found, so the the Preservers might survive a conflict with the Scinfaxi.

(OOC) Wow, I really wasn't expecting that response from the IVL. Oh, and to back up the three survivors, the Preservers have a standard procedure of having a rearguard for all fleet formations. This rearguard stays just within detailed sensor range, and will power down weapons and power cores to stay hidden if the main formation is attacked. Passive sensors are only used to determine if it is safe to power back up, and an immediate retreat is called for if the main formation is destroyed or missing, otherwise they will take further orders from the main formation.

The IVL warfleet having made contact with the TGE officials as of 1400 hours this afternoon, sent the information package to the IVL headquarters on Antaries via their FTL-Communications system.

Upon doing so, they received orders to ask the TGE high-command if it was possible to set up a audience between their leadership and Empress Elizabeth Brewster in person if possible.

We are still awaiting a response from them as to if it would be possible and at what time and date it'd be best to carry this out.

(Darn, what date system do we all use? Oh well, relative values FTW!)
The TGE are glad to arrange a meeting, offering to meet at 1500 hours three days from now, at Tas'roth III, a TGE planet near IVL space.
If these arrangements are satisfactory, Emperor Tevalsh will leave immediately for Tas'roth III, will a light escort.

This proposal is acceptable. We shall meet then.
*Arranges for a small fleet of escorts to be prepared for departure*

"We now go to Tom in orbit around the former Preserver world Deler II"

"Thank you Kell. At 1300 today elements of CF subgroup Onisin arrived in the Deler system to attack the Preserver outpost on Deler II. The Preserver ships were absolutely slaughtered by the GSE attack group. After a quick battle Deler II is now firmly in Scinfaxi control. The Emperor had earlier pledged that any worlds taken from the Preservers would be returned to the TGE for resettlement. This Tom Clark for the BBC Galactic Service."

Note: I've named the High Preserver Kov Darlor, to keep from saying "the High Preserver" over and over again.

@AidanAdv
(Preserver perspective) After the sudden loss of Deler II to the Scinfaxi, Kov Darlor ordered the construction of a new fleet for the Preservers, that could compete with the other races. Design is now in the early stages, but is progressing slowly, as most of the Preserver outposts in TGE space are being evacuated, putting a large strain on the Preserver community.

TNN: The Tul'tharian News Network wrote:At Tas'roth III, Emperor Tevalsh and Empress Elizabeth Brewster met to discuss diplomatic relations between the TGE and the IVL. Tevalsh's goal through the negotiations is to establish a peace treaty, or at the very least, a non-aggression pact. Negotiations are still underway, and are expected to take a break in three hours, so more news will be available then.
In other news, I'm making progress on the Third Era ships, after a thorough re-design of my basic plans, prompted by ArcaneDude. I'm also going to change all the dates from years 0 and up, to squish the timeline into a smaller period, to not only show a faster pace of development, but also to make the TGE emperor much younger (he'd be around 70-80 right now, compared to 50-60 after I change the dates).

LOL So He's currently suffering from old man timeline syndrome?

Well, at year -5 (when the Scinfaxi ship crashed on Tul'thare), he was a middle-aged politician, in the position of president. He would be 47 then, and then by the old dates (I've already updated them) he would be an 81-year old emperor as far as the story has gone so far. With the new dates, he is now (as of year 13) 60 years old, which is still old, but not as old, greatly shifting the most possible cause of death over from a heart attack to an attack at his heart (assassination) :P.

Waiting for a reply from Lizzie to three posts above, and maybe Arcane could send some diplomats of his own to the TGE?
Lets get this RP going again!

As of 0500 this morning. The IVL-02-Defiant, a Hades class warship, entered TGE space bearing the Empress herself. Negotiations should begin shortly.

TNN: The Tul'tharian News Network wrote: Today at 0300 hours, the Imperial Tul'tharian Navy clamped down simultaneously on two Preserver colonies on Honusk III and Essina XVI. Both battles were brief, resulting in complete ITN victory. Fleeing Preserver vessels were hunted down, and very few got away. This was the first demonstration of the newly formed ITN's power, and there were no losses on the ITN side in both battles. Aftermath photos have been obtained by the TNN, showing the victorious fleets hovering over the planets after orbital bombardment of the Preserver colonies.

TNN: The Tul'tharian News Network wrote:The heavily damaged ships in both pics are the new Kal-class medium destroyers. They sustained such heavy damage because they act as a meat shield, protecting the weaker bombardment vessels from enemy fire. This tactic has proven successful thus far, though more simulations are being carried out by the ITN to see if this tactic is worth adopting in the long run.
