NTO freight lines were just recently attacked by four War Orbs and a civilian ships were nearly destroyed. In a last ditch effort to destoy it, a new high velocity plasma round was fired at the targets. Two were destoyed and one was fatally injured by the attack.

Afterword, seven, yes SEVEN war Orbs attacked the lionus strip. It was here where we deployed the new Zane 2 Supercarriers to attempt to use the demeter method. It came with mixed success, and only one of the war Orbs was actually destroyed by demeters. But, Many others had their weapon systems wiped clean by the demeters.

The lionus strip hung on, and many platforms were destroyed. The third armada, Streched thin by many other recent attacks, sent only 2 Raleigh-class cruisers to aid.

The final two War orbs escaped, but the five others were destroyed. An Estimated total of 17,000 hands were lost.

Construction of the flagship Sacrophage was finished at approximately 15:00.
Using un-manned "civillian" transports to act as bait, we lured a war-orb to the Zyxu system where the Sacrophage awaited to test its main cannons.

The firing of the main cannons concentrated on the war orb were able to overwhelm its defensive shielding and pierce the vessel, which proceeded to explode violently, destroying most of the unmanned transports.

From this success, we have plans for a ship dedicated to carrying multiple heavy beam cannon arrays. Although it is impossible to fit these weapons on a ship smaller than a monitor, making it impractical as a main weapon. Estimates also show that while effective against a single war orb, when surrounded, the monitor would be quickly overwhelmed and unable to bring its main cannon to bear and will subsequently be torn to shreds.

Plasma charge bombardments and demeter swarming tactics are being tested and hulls specific to the task are being designed as we speak.

***EMERGENCY BROADCAST***

The WarOrb may very well not be the only ship type the aliens posses.
One of our scouts patroling the space between the VA and Schkrin territory reported encountering a alien craft, however he described at as triangle shaped before transmission was terminated.

We urge everyone to be cautious.

On hearing the benefits of plasma weaponry against the crystallines, the Auriak constructed 10 Exarch class plasma bombers, with four torpedo launchers each. The bombers, along with a Saurian II, engaged a War Orb in combat. The Saurian II kept the Orb occupied, but did not jam its weapons like before. As a result, one Exarch was lost and the other ships were damaged. Fortunately, the War Orb's shields were taken out in several volleys, and was finished off by more torpedoes and the Saurian II's demeter drones.

Great honour was bestoed posthomously on Warrior Serenak. May his soul fly free.

After the incident, Supreme Commander Kyas has high confidence that victory is soon to enter view.

Also, Auriak scientists suggest a reason why the War Orb's weapons ceased to fire earlier. Commander Naeros of the Saurian II launched the ship's six Rorschach resistor devices in close proximity of a War Orb. The Orb was caught in the field and began to fire all weapons, only to have them warped and reversed on itself, hitting the beam projectors. It was noticed that in the latest incident, the alien weapons continued to function as normal, the resistors were not used that time. This is only an assumption, however. Further proof will have to be gathered.

OOC:

Exarch bombers? Bombers as in normal bombers (slightly bigger that fighters) or bombers as in siege-tyle warships..long-range artillery?

since sounds kinda dumb that the sorrounding races need their biggest flaships, beam monitors or whole fleets t take out a orb and you do it with a few bombers :P

Fast ships, with four plasma torpedo launchers each, and I had ten of them with the enemy ship occupied. I tend to avoid using super guns.

By the way an exploring raptor came across a crystal triangle near a gas giant. It accelerated slowly, but it seems its top speed could be very high. Its weapons are short range, with precision beams, powerful energy spikes, and some sort of bladelike spinning energy driver. the raptor stayed out of range for the most part, trying to get a read on the alien ship, but got hit and decided to hit the road.

It's unlikely that that's the same ship type. From what we can tell the one our scout encountered was huge.

But it is troubling that new ship types are appearing. Either the enemy is trying to adjust to our tactics or he hasn't fully mobilised yet and the first attacks were just to test our defenses.

It could be possible that is their fighter, and the one you encountered was a larger model.

Bad news- another ship! an Aukoya class was scanning a nearby gas giant when this thing rose from the clouds along with two War Orbs. I call it the Flower. It destroyed the Aukoya with a ravening beam as it shot with its warp cannon. If you see this craft or any others like it, exercise Extreme caution.

Seemed like a good idea at the time?

I didn't want to register to anything and it was the first that came up. Is it really that bad?
