Blue metal/plant/crystal that stores energy, got it. I didn't mean to be such a jerk about this.

But anyway I don't want to steal another thread with these discussions. Let's focus on the aliens.

Flash transmission from the Schkrin Confederacy

4 hours ago another crystal orb was spotted leaving the gas giant of Aurelia, in the Aurora system. Schkrin forces were unable to do any damage to the structure, in a last ditch attempt to stop them Commodore Yari rammed his Absolution class cruiser into the orb destroying his ship but fracturing the sphere. it then appeared to explode from the pressure within, destroying a large number of our remaining ships. however a 65 degree arc of the spherical hull was blasted off intact and we managed to recover it.

While this was occurring another smaller orb appeared over the capital on Aurora.
The small orb entered the office of the President and a creature that appeared to be made of quicksilver formed in it. The creature said one thing only:
"You're killing my people." the president attempted to negotiate with it, to find out what had been done to anger the creatures. But the creature simply said "There will be no negotiation, you will all die, you will all die." and vanished into the mist of the orb.

the orb then cracked and detonated, the pressure killed the president and blew away a large section of the capital offices, killing at least 100 others.

a moment of silence for those lost.

For what it's worth, you have the deepest of sympathy from my people. It seems that they have sworn vengeance. They are probably going to mobilize in force soon, and by the creature's sincerity, we may be in for a bloody fight. I suggest we prepare for the worst but hope for the best, it may take a lot to defend ourselves.

We are extremely sympathetic for the lives lost. Maybe we could try negotiating with them, and after all we belong to different Stellar Empires. Maybe It could work out, and after we received the section of crystal, we aimed a Strike laser at the center of the crystal section, and fired, the Laser did not only scratch the surface, but melted right through it. We are also experimenting on how to replicate the crystal, and built the first prototype of the device that could replicate the crystal, unfortunately the device malfunctioned and exploded. The blast killed the head scientist and three others, fifteen were injured. May those killed find a better place. A moment of silence for those lost.

TO SCHKRIN CONFEDERACY:

We are saddened by your loss. The alien entities seemed deterimned to destroy you, so there is little time to mourn.
We have two Judgment Day class ships operational - the prototpye and the first combat version. We can send one of them with escorts your way to join your battlegroup.

*EDIT* - updated my fleet with all the latest ships

We will be sending two Dictators complete with crew to help assist your fleet. We would like them to be placed at rear, since we do not know yet how much damage a War Orb will do to a Dictator. Also to help defend the Judgment Day Class Dreadnought. May our combined might be strong enough to defend against and destroy what is to come.

You're ships are heavily covered with deflectors. The best use for them would be to draw fire away from Judgment Day as it takes time to charge the main gun. We'll send Vanguard shield cruisers and Archangel battleships for that task, but you're welecomed to play bait with us.

My Dictators don't have any deflectors, those Aegised sections are reactors. They are heavily armored and have long range Strike Lasers, that have been tested against the alien crystal and have melted the test section into sludge. So we can rid of this threat faster if your Vanguards and my Dictators soak up the damage, while my Dictators and your Judgment Days fire at those War Orbs.

Agreed. I'd recommend caution tough, as the crystal is the second layer of defense (and part of the 1st) - we have to breach the shield first.

Try setting your Strike Lasers to as big as amplitude you can manage and focus fire on a single section. That should be sufficient.

I will send Supreme Commander Kyas to help defend the Schkrin. We have advanced deflector systems so be may be able to buy you some time.

This is Kyas' ship, the Bahamut. It can survive for a little while against the alien beams, but lacks the firepower to pierce the shield. The Bahamut can draw fire while the Judgement Day does it in.

***EXTREME WARNING***
LEVEL: BLUE
ENCRYPTION: NONE
MESSAGE TRANSMITTED IN THE CLEAR
MESSAGE BEGINS

we have recently received reports from throughout our patrolled space, war orbs have been spotted entering terran space near the border of Warsaw.
War Orbs have been seen in Schkrin space as well as Veneran space.

Opening estimates put their numbers at 1100 and new reports have been rolling in ever hour.

civilian ships are advised to jump immediately if such a vessel is encountered, military vessels are advised to operate in teams and focus on hit and run tactics, DO NOT attempt direct engagement.

And seriously, I'd consider discussing surrender.

I don't think surrender is an option. What are the big alliances doing about this galactic crisis?

Well, I think (and I may only be speaking for myself here) that unless any of the current participants request some outside empires/alliances to assist them, nobody will actually interfere.

Just thinking though, don't burn me if you guys think differently.

The whole VA fleet has been mobilised and we just put all our shipyards into wartime production mode.
Judgment Day dreadnoughts are being produced at maximum speed and we can expect the first few to be ready within days.

That said, we regret to inform the Schkrin that we will pull back some of the forces we sent your way. We can't afford to be left without at least one dreadnought for our homeworld defense...
The prototype and a small escort will continue to join your forces. Just be sure to guard the prototype since it's more fragile than the regular version.

I'm sending mechanoid drones along to assist in repairs and to build spaceborne shield generators.
