The Spore Game -- Species B

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
i don't think saber teeth would be best, they only give us a benefit in attack and we're lacking in other areas. brawny mass increases our attack by only one less, and also boosts our health and gives us new abilities through basic muscley type tissues which could lead to better evolutions

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
Agree with vidboi, brawny mass.
So do we have to directly observe any evolutions we want to get or can we experiment? Cuz I noticed 'produce explosives', the problem being we need a way to project the exploding mass away from us. So I'm wondering what would happen if we combined 'produce explosives' with 'spines', made those detachable like a bee stinger and...well you get the idea.

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
combine that with nematocysts and you get stinging explosive spines... i like

Wait, Brawny mass = mucles + spines = powerful spine launching muscle. Add that with whatever we like, we can give the banker a 'Peaceful' protest aginst his flaming taxes.

I think the induction of "LOL" "OMG" and "<3" into the Oxford English Dictionary is a sign of the End Times. Only, instead of a rider on a pale horse, it'll be a gibberish-spewing spastic in a monster truck named "The Dildozer".
Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
You feel you've consumed enough mass to split. And so you try... and fail. So, unable to reproduce, you take a nap.
You wake up just as the glowing cell's light comes over to shine on you. And you are hungry. So you eat some more of the twisting plant stuff (7 DNA). Then, having nothing else to do, you swim over to see why the Alpha Squidies have those odd glands. Of course, because of how threatening you look, it shows you. You get a huge blast of inky black stuff to the face... And are unable to see. Bluh! You can barely feel the currents as the Squidy swims off, and are left there, unable to see.
You have 5 health
You have 5 stomach (full)
you have 13 DNA +1 golden DNA, and must wait two rounds to split/evolve again
(Note: If you guys can actually come up with an original idea, that could actually work, that makes sense for a creature like you to have, AND you have an excess of DNA, meaning you don't use it all in an evolution, AND you've been discussing it for a while, AND you specificly mention it when you evolve, you MAY wind up getting it. If it's unlisted, I haven't specifically put it on any creatures, and it's plausible, you guys MAY get evolutions that you make up yourselves. We will see when/if the time comes)

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
so squidy alpha... is an octupus =P is there any way we can get the balck stuff off? if it just comes of after a turn or something i say we do nothing so we don't put ourselves in danger. after that, get as much dna as possible, eat everything, then let's make explosing spines that we can launch using our proto-muscles

You do nothing, being unable to see. You vision clears somewhat, leaving you still completely unable to see anything, but you see patches and blurry spots.
you have 5 health
you have 4 stomach
you have 13 DNA+1 GDNA, and must wait one more round before evolving

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
go down into the plants and try and rub the ink off. if we can get rid of all the ink, eat some more twisting plant stuff to gather as much dna as possible before we evolve. also see if ejecting mass helps clear the ink

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
Some sort of protective eyelids might be nice down the line
Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
i say just some protection in general would be good. for now, let's just get as much dna as possible until we evolve. i mean around 40 dna

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
You eject some mass to try and clear the ink away, but it does nothing, since the mass was no-where near your eyes. So, you swim down to some plants to see if you can rub off the ink. However, it all wears off before you can reach the plants. So, you eat the plants, instead (6 DNA). And, because you're still hungry after ejecting that mass, and you've finished off one of the twisting plants, you swim over to another and start in (7 DNA). That fills you up, and so you watch some more squidies do their jobs... from a distance. Their gland within their flagella seems to be the only one that produces ink, and is what the one'd gotten you with. The other glands... seem to produce a form of lubricant. Looking at it closer, you see that the lubricant has a purple tinge to it. Suddenly, you feel like this is a cell you want to avoid eating at all costs.

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
alright, eject as much mass as possible and eat as much as possible
also, i noticed we can increase mass multiple times, are there any other evolutions that we can have multiples of?

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
Seconding Vidboi, also get specialized enzymes: herbivore, then Eat the super flowers and the actual plants.

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
nahh, i don't think we should specialise enzymes, omnivorous is the way to go. eat the plants. eat the things that eat the plants. eat the ground the plants grow. eat the sun =P
also, just wondering, how big is this cavern compared to us?

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
You decide to create a unit of mesurement. You fail, not having any sort of thinking tool, but you estimate that the cave is about 50~100 times your current width allong it's longest axis. An given that it's a rough sphere, that's a large cavern, compared to you.
You don't feel like actually evolving yet, for some reason (Only vote to evolve was outvoted, & only one evolution). So, you just expel extra mass, to make you hungry. Although, this does scramble your DNA regardless. (you guys have scored the digestive track now). You eat more of the blue flowers (+8 DNA), expel more, and eat the plants the flowers where on (+6 DNA).
You are rapidly eating a pretty slow growing plant, that there aren't many of, you discover, giving the cavern a once-over again.
