heh I just came up with a funny. In addition to our spikes, can we shift the explosive material to the mass we expel? Then we can expel it in the face of a predator as a last resort kinda like we did but as more than a distraction. Plus every time we expel mass we are basically leaving a minefield...of explosive crap lol

You swim away from the lighthouse, eager to keep away. It follows, at a slower speed, and seemingly unable to decide whether to go after you or your duplicate. Finally, it appears to settle on you as the target of choice. It opens it's wide mouth again, and again there are sparks within... But this time a whole bunch of explosives laden spikes find their way into it's mouth before the Big Flash. This does not prevent the flash from happening, burning your eyes and leaving you blinded again, for a moment, as the spikes seem to have a bit of a delay before exploding, but that is not what concerns you. When you can see again, you look to the lighthouse to see what damage to it you did.
You are again treated with a close-up of it's teeth, closer than before. You dodge away, and fire again. While this has the effect of knocking out a couple of the lighthouse's teeth, it still fails to take it down.
The lighthouse does appear to be starting to tire, but it's definitely not going down yet.

Combat appeared to be the driving motivation of the cell on one of the being's monitors. Having long since lost it's yellow coloration, it's red muscley tone displayed strength and robust health. Even now it was in battle with a superior force, having already displayed genocidal might. Despite this, the beings observed both eager ambition for this lifeform to conquer all, and a fear of death, leading to it's aggressive attitude. The experiment was going well, yielding results far from the past results. Indeed, the entirely different environment could have been the sole cause of the differences... But that was why there where so many monitors this time, so many lifeforms.

might as well even though the plants will die.
I think the induction of "LOL" "OMG" and "<3" into the Oxford English Dictionary is a sign of the End Times. Only, instead of a rider on a pale horse, it'll be a gibberish-spewing spastic in a monster truck named "The Dildozer".

Sorry again for another delayed update today.
Probably won't be the last delayed update, either, but after today we should be delay free for a while.

Not enough Delta in your life? Have a look at https://twitter.com/Deltabacon1 - I do a fair amount of casting and esports analysis which may appeal to some of you who are that way inclined!

You fire several salvos of spikes at the lighthouse, doing much damage. You don't manage to get any more in it's mouth, as now it's refusing to open it.
You then charge at it, attacking... with extreme prejudice. A slashing manuever with your horn, tearing bites out of it's flesh, ripping motions with those spines you haven't launched... detaching them inside the lighthouses flesh to explode, of course. Your efforts are made more effective by the continued support of your duplicate, who refuses to come in close, but continues it's strafing runs and missile volleys.

This has the desired effect of causing the lighthouse to finally lose it's spark of life, becoming an unmoving corpse. You feast upon it's flesh (3 DNA, 1 GDNA), having no choice but to share the meal with your duplicate, observing as you do that it keeps on glowing, even after death. You try to eat whatever it is that keeps glowing like that... and wind up breaking one of your teeth on it. Whatever it is, it's so hard... it's so hard... well, it's harder than anything you've ever seen, felt, or imagined. And it keeps on glowing. Just... glowing. It may have been a byproduct produced by the lighthouse, or something it ate, but you just can't do anything with it.

Well, the crystal reserves sound cool, but we don't really need them. We've never been short of Stomach points, and it's cheaper to be Regenerative once than spend 4 DNA for one health. So, expel spent nutrients, wait a bit if necessary, then eat enough to gain another DNA point and evolve the following

Prehensile Tentacle- 10 DNA (Bonus to attack and speed, and the ability to grab stuff? Priceless)

Infrared Vision- 12 DNA (See through walls, also priceless)

Store Fats- 10 DNA (Extra stomach= Extra DNA, meaning it'll pay for itself)

Improved Electricity- 4 DNA (Between this, nematocysts, and explosive spines, attacking us is insta-death, meaning we'll be off the menu for good)

Regenerative- 3 DNA (The advantage is obvious, we shall be immortal organic missile launchers that kill anything dumb enough to touch them)

Super Enzymes- (It doesn't give stat bonuses, but it does give us a massively increased DNA gain rate, meaning it will pay for itself and then for stat upgrades far better than any of the other GDNA evolutions provide)

Specialized Enzymes (Meat)- 0 DNA (We only eat plants and dirt for Stomach, never for DNA, and we're tough enough to wipe out entire colonies. We should become meat-eaters in order to maximise that advantage. It is +50% DNA after all.)

i'm going to second thirdemperor here, the suggestions sound good

also, i think we should go for crystalline fats, just so we can get glowing crystals and attach them to the end of our tentacle to use as a bait. for now, let's carry the glowing crystal with us in case it might be useful

You expel waste matter, freeing up some stomach. You then chew on some of the blue flowered plants (6 DNA).
You then split, your genetic structure doing back flips to rearrange itself. Once you gain control, you notice a few nice things. First, you have a sort of double-vision, being able to see normally, and everything being shades of black, blue or red, like your duplicates and the dynamites being red. You also have a long tentacle right below your mouth, on what you could call your chin. You then notice how your fur has a... modified texture. It seems to accumulate a much stronger static charge when it rubs against your shell, and itself.
You also appear to have a thin layer of some sort of... blubber or fat just under your membrane, which should help deflect attacks. Your wounds also appear to be closing quicker, which is good. You finally also feel... SO very much hungrier now. It's like you crave the flesh of all cells, and could eat... Them all!

WE ARE THE APOCALYPSE! LET THE END OF ALL THINGS BEGIN! Devour any corpses remaining from our genocide, then dive into the current, to find new worlds, meet new creatures, and kill them.

You devour the single remaining corpse left from your genocide (6 DNA), then turn to the plants. You don't eat the salt-filled ones, but by the time you're done (22 DNA), there are none of the twisty plants with the blue flowers, and very few of the fast-growing vines. This prompts most of the dynamites remaining to flee, which reminds you.
You fire off a few spikes at the fleeing ones, blowing them up. Those that remain suddenly all go into hiding, but with your new infrared vision, you spot them and blast them out, too. Having spent so much more of your time eating than normal, however, you don't have time for much else.
You have four choices, that you can see right now. You could spend much time widening the tunnel you came here from, you could take the current out, and swim with it, you could take the current out and swim against it, or you could stay in this cavern.

you have 9 hp
you have 31 stomach
you have 33 DNA
