Sorry, I know I said we'd be relatively delay free for a while, but... well, Today's update I think may take a bit of work.

I bet its going to be the bestest update EVER!

I think the induction of "LOL" "OMG" and "<3" into the Oxford English Dictionary is a sign of the End Times. Only, instead of a rider on a pale horse, it'll be a gibberish-spewing spastic in a monster truck named "The Dildozer".
Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
One of the screens the beings were watching displayed the cell that had tackled the sealed horror, something that had gone horribly wrong when setting up their experiment. They'd blocked it off, sealing it behind a wall of ice, in a hard to reach cranny, and put a mountain over that. And yet this cell had unleashed it, and then come out victorious.
That screen was not the focus of their attention, now. They where focused instead on the screens with more action, the timer counting down to zero, the deployment of quite possibly the strangest machine ever to eyes of other species. The machine, which had parts that quite possibly could have organic mechanisms, faded out of view rapidly, but the beings celebrated this, their successes mounting up.
You follow the Speed Midget, grabbing your glowing crystal loot, trying to find some sort of meal. Or rather, you follow the trail of broken plants, where the midget had run into them in it's terror. You guess that at your size, you'd be quite formidable. However, the trail quickly disappears, leading to a tiny little hole in the ground so small, you wonder how the speed midget could have even gone down it, unless it had closed behind it. Upset, you look around, noticing that your presence has frightened off all the local fauna. Those that can see, that is.
A cell even larger than yourself moves through the plants, pushing them aside with it's girth, as opposed to swimming around them, using the massive flippers it has on either side to move, as well as using some sort of protolimb to push against the ground and gain extra thrust. It appears so large, even, that it seems it's weight prevents it from being able to actually swim. The limbs appear to be made for moving along the ground, as it struggles to keep what could be called it's belly off the ground. The fact that the only other visible organs are a mouth, and some sort of... well, it appears to have a second set of protolimbs up by it's mouth, designed to grab the native fauna and shove it in. The purple opaque, blue striped membrane tells you first that it's got a thicker hide than you do, and second it keeps you from knowing what else it's got.

Oh no! Whatever shall we do? Oh, wait: KILLITWITHFIRE! Or, more accurately, exploding spines. Keep out of it's melee range as best we can though, as we don't know what it can do.
Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
seconding thirdemporer, but i say that we should first use our infrared vision to see if there are any hot spots on the creatures skin which may represent weak or critical areas and attacking those. also, can we see the collection device with our infrared vision?

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
You look over the cell with your infared vision, looking for weak points. You notice first that it's got a very warm spot behind it's... legs, and second that the stripes in it's coloration are giving off more heat than the rest of it.
You give the closest you can to a shrug, and fire off several volleys of explosive spines at the warm points. The blistering salvo should be enough to fell such a slow beast... But is comes out barely singed, or, according to your infared, barely warmer from the explosions at all.
One of the stripes, however, then peals away, revealing the cell's wrinkly membrane underneath to have a bit of a hollow, where the smaller cell was sitting. Even this cell is larger than you, which is frightening. It has more visible organs than the cell it was nesting in and feeding off of, but those organs are mainly a large mouth, a couple of ear-holes, and some nasty looking suction cups, lined with what look like teeth. Or...
You barely dodge as the cell fires off several small fagments of bone, in a manner not unlike your spike launcher. None of them explode, but there are just so many of them that you really don't like the idea of getting hit.

Fire at the smallercell, while dodging.
Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
i think we should also rage at it as loudly as we can with our new voicebox while blowing it to pieces. if possible, also aim for the opening in the larger cell that the smaller cell came out of

Sorry for today's late update. Family went on a cleaning rampage, i got swept along.
You start firing at the smaller of the large cells, instead of the larger of them. In retaliation, the smaller cell fires back, missiles versus machine guns. You score several hits, but are struck several times by it's tiny little beady projectiles.
You realize that it's falling easier than certain foes you've faced before, as it's heat signature slowly fades, but the even as the beast dies, another peals off the the leviathan cell, defending it's food.
You hear a rustling, but are too busy concentrating on the battle.

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
keep shooting untill it is dead after that look around a bit and eat a bit.
Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
shout at it as loud as possible and then fire off more missile barrages, try to kill it as fast as possible

Re: The Spore Game -- Species B
You shout at the cell that's pealed off to fight you this time, as loud as you can. The only indication that it heard you is the fact that it's ear-holes suddenly snap closed, and a faint rumbling comes from just below it's mouth area, as it starts firing off several of it's tiny teeth.
After a few salvos back and forth, your attention is drawn to a sudden beam of some sort of yellowy-orange stuff striking the giant beast in the side... Or, more accurately, in one of it's stripes, and therefore not hitting it. The cell then peals off, turning towards the brush from which the beam came. You don't see anything there, and apparently neither did it, because it suddenly turns towards you.
You almost panic, firing spikes rapidly, missing a couple times, when again seemingly out of no-where, another of those yellowy-orange beams strikes the cell you yelled at, it's membrane suddenly collapsing into nothing, leaving the juicy insides. You can't reach them, though, with the other one still shooting at you, and the absolutely giant cell moving away.
