Angel Blade

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Angel Blade

Post by Wilbky »

A very simple ship. Only has one weapon which is a 200-range megabeam that blasts two 50,000 damage beams. The core at the back of the ship controls the entire blade. If the core dies, the phase blade and gun is destroyed. Ignore the health amount in the screenshots, i've nerfed it to 600. Still sort of a lot i suppose.

This thing can easily destroy a titan if it can do as what i like to call the "one-two punch". Basically what you do is:
1. Somehow activate your megabeam, usually by shooting a titan's outer armor.

2. You have a good few seconds before your blade burns out. Activate your dieterling and teleport directly/near the core

3. Survive the explosion.

Blade in action as it turns. Doesn't stay perfectly straight, can't really fix that.

When the ship is still the blade fits somewhat perfects.

Looks decent, even if it is a wonk ship. If you want the blade to stay in between the Pillars, all I can suggest is to keep the Arc really low (like 1-3) and the Deviation low too. (same as arc, if not zero.)

I kept the arc at 10 because smaller radii make it sort of hard to activate. Deviation is 0 already which helps. I think megabeams have a natural swerve to them.

I built this mini-wonk ship as a titan killer. It's sort of like that thread about the MetalFox fighting medium sized bosses with its use of speed. Same concept here. I fought the High Angel and few Seraphim Industries titans with this. It's quite the challenge to get the teleports right. Simply because if you mess up a teleport you'll end up in the middle of a titan surrounded by guns. It's also fun to "shave" guns off the sides of titans or slowly dig into them without teleport-assassinating them.

If you wish, you can hit X to force-ignite the beam, thus having control over firing of the blade.

Actually, I think it'd be alright if you extend the 'blade'.

That way, it'll resemble a sword even more.

Ooo...

Ooooooo!

OOOOOOOOO!!!!

I like this! This is a very nice ship... I can just picture this little beast cutting apart my ships, dodging and weaving between blasts from their main guns... and it's so pretty! Excellent job.

It's pretty, but the "blade" looks a little too thin to me.

I LOVE IT!

But a few things I noticed: WHen I tell it to attack something, it kind of... retreates and bobs around the map. And maybe you should make the blade last longer? It's really cool though!

I'm glad you like it guys.
Concerning the AI of it and the weird bug of it bobbing around: i have no clue and wondered why myself. Also the reason was kept thin instead of fat was to make it resemble a blade. This is an assassin-like ship designed to destroys the titans themselves. Precision is key.

Nice. Useful. Evil when used against my Dreadnaught.

I shall burn it for heresy.

But cool nonetheless.

Apparently i messed up the stats of the health by accident by mixing it up with the name. Download file updates. Nerfed the core health from 1400 to 450 to keep it in balance with my Besieger Core. Wouldn't make much sense for an assassin to have more health than a hulking support ship designed to provide others with cover.

My two recent ships working together.

Oh nuts i never knew this. Much thanks. I guess now my one-two punch strategy turned into a OHKO strategy.
edit: hold on this isn't working for me. How did you do it?

I don't want it to have too much range. This practically one shots anything so i want the Angel Blade to at least dip itself into the enemy to do collateral damage.
