A trade route, far off in the reaches of space. Guarded by two heavily armed war stations, it is a common stopping place for transport ships traveling out so far from civilization. However, the captain of each transport is wise enough to sacrifice a bit of cargo space, for the security of a Particle Gun and a Pulse Gun; pirate attacks are common, although less likely to attack large armed groups, and even less likely to attack a war station, let alone two.

However, today, this is not the case.

The cargo ships and the battle stations find themselves soon under attack by an overwhelming pirate force.

They destroy a few of the pirate raiders, but things get worse - more warp signatures.

Most of the cargo ships, and one of the battle stations, are destroyed. The last battle station is heavily damaged. Thinks look bleak, until massive warp disruptions appear on sensors...

-----------------------------------------------------------
The captain of the Spirit of Battle, the Flamestar-class dreadnought, sat down in his chair. The mechanical sentient simply nodded his head at his peers.

-----------------------------------------------------------
The massive alien dreadnought began to blast the enemy with some sort of railgun weapon, firing small projectiles which caused a massive explosion, and left a radioactive trail. Soon, space was filled with brilliant blue streaks of radiation, as the pirate ships fell left and right...

The alien dreadnought crushes the pirate raiders, until more warp signatures appear... the pirates are trying to flank the Spirit of Battle... but why isn't the Spirit of Battle responding to their warp signatures?

It appears that the dreadnought' weapons are omnidirectional...

The Spirit of Battle destroys the pirate attack force, and is totally undamaged. It's warp generators begin to power up, before the civilian survivors can respond...

I do realize that the Flamestar has some strange black pieces - I forgot to turn ship glow on. Usually, it's blue - and it looks great. But my version refuses to save ship glow...
