Seraph's New Ship Designs

I've decided to start making a new series of ships, completely unrelated to my "Seraphim Industries" ones. You may note that they're significantly less powerful, though they still aren't exactly "balanced" against the stock ships. This new one can still take down a Nagaya 3 without too much difficulty. But against Lizzie's Clockwork ships, it can barely keep up, where as my old ships... not so much.
Anyway, I'm going to be writing a story, and maybe recording video, based on a few of these ships. It's sort of going to be a cross between Voyager, Andromeda, and something else that doesn't suck, to replace all the crap in the aformentioned series. (My apologies to any offended by this, but Andromeda, while good for the first 1.5 seasons, went to crap after that, and Voyager isn't even half as good as either DS9 or TNG, despite my fondness for some of the characters. It also had Neelix. Fucking Neelix. :x )
Anyway, I've only got one ship so far, and here it is:
Download the Longinus.
I'm going to try and keep these ships fairly balanced against each other.
Here's the stats of the
Longinus:
- HP: 400
Speed: 2.5
Turning: 0.75
Acceleration: 0.07
Armament and Equipment:
Reactive Armour Plating (8 Deflectors)
8 Burst Railguns (Pulse Guns)
- Fire Rate: 3
Clip Size: 10
Reload Time: 30
Damage: 20
Range: 900
Shot Deviation: 0
Turn Speed: 2
4 Charged Proton Beams (Mining Beams)
- Fire Rate: 1
Clip Size: 1
Reload: 45
Damage: 3
Range: 900
Deviation: 0
Turn Speed: 1
2 Plasma Lances (Railguns)
- Fire Rate: 1
Clip Size: 2
Reload: 60
Damage: 90
Range: 1000
Shot Deviation: 0
Turn Speed: 0.9
Delta Torpedo Launcher (Pulsar)
- Fire Rate: 1
Clip Size: 4
Reload: 60
Damage: 90
Range: 1500
Shot Deviation: 0
Turn Speed: 2
6 Aslan Fighter Bays (Demeter Launchers)
10 Particle Guns
Anyway, I'm going to make one or two more ships, around which the story will be based, including this one. What I would like from you guys, is suggestions for ships they may encounter, either as friends or enemies. Hell, if you'd like, feel free to try and make a ship to appear in the story. Just try to make sure it's somewhat balanced against mine, or I doubt I'll use it.
Thoughts? Opinions? Criticism? Fire it my way.

Very nice looking ship. I like how you've not made it overly powerful. I'll see if I can come up with any enemies for it.

Ah, starting a new series...
All this new influx of ships is making me want to start making ships again =C.

Please do.

What would be preferable would be enemies with less firepower, but more health. That way the fights would last longer and be more entertaining to watch, if I decided to record them.

You should. Your ships are pretty damn nice, if I do say so myself... and I do!
Anyways, I've made another ship that will serve alongside the Longinus. It's called the
Gungnir:
Download the Gungnir.
Here's the stats of the
Gungnir:
- HP: 400
Speed: 3
Turning: 0.90
Acceleration: 0.10
Armament and Equipment:
Reactive Armour Plating (6 Deflectors)
6 Burst Railguns (Pulse Guns)
- Fire Rate: 3
Clip Size: 10
Reload Time: 30
Damage: 20
Range: 900
Shot Deviation: 0
Turn Speed: 2
4 Ciel-type Particle Beams (Scatter Beams)
- Fire Rate: 1
Clip Size: 2
Reload: 30
Damage: 3
Range: 1000
Deviation: 0
Turn Speed: 2
2 Vermeil-type Particle Beams (Shock Beamers)
- Fire Rate: 1
Clip Size: 1
Reload: 90
Damage: 6
Range: 1000
Shot Deviation: 0
Turn Speed: 3
Clarent-type Particle Cannon (Mega Beam)
- Fire Rate: 1
Clip Size: 1
Reload: 600
Damage: 40
Range: 1500
Shot Deviation: 0
Turn Speed: 1
6 Particle Guns
2 Point-Defense Lasers
These two ships, and the third, are following a specific naming theme. The first person to figure it out gets a cookie! And... well... something else, maybe...

Mythological polearms, I'd warrant. Norse, maybe. If you want really specifics, I'd probably say Odin's weapons.
Lovely ships altogether.

You're pretty close there. Gungnir was a weapon wielded by Odin. "Mythological Polearms" was close, but the answer is a little more specific. A certain type of polearm.

Thank you.
Ugh, I can't believe I forgot this, but once again, credit goes to RRoan for the basis of my engine design.

Polearms that never miss their mark?
I can't remember ever hearing of Longinus anywhere...

The answer is "Mythological Spears". Pole-arm is a little vague, as it can also refer to weapons like Halberds, Glaives, etc.
Gungnir was the spear of Odin, which always hit its mark.
Longinus is named after the Spear of Longinus, also known as the Lance of Longinus, or the Holy Lance. It's supposedly the Spear that was used to pierce Christ's side by a roman soldier (named Longinus), as he was on the cross.
The third ship is going to be called "Ame-no-nuhoko", which is japanese for "Heavenly Jeweled Spear", and was part of the Shinto creation myth. According to the legend, it was actually a Naginata, but since it translates into english as "spear", I'm using it anyway, 'cause it sounds cool.

Been very busy lately, but I've managed to make a couple of ships. I don't have the time to upload the .shp files or give a stats read-out right now, so I'll save that for later. Here's pics of the two ships I have, though.
The Ame-no-nuhoko, the third member of the group:

And "Peace and Unity", a big honkin' battleship that is heavily inspired and influenced by HighComedy's Kursk Dreadnought:

*gets all excited* The Ame-no-nuhoko looks like a star destroyer!!
The last ship, I'm not sure if peace and unity is a suitable name for an amazing behemoth like that! I can see that every piece has been placed with meticulous detail. Wow.

"Peace and Unity" is short for "Peace and Unity through Superior Firepower and Wholesale Slaughter", in this instance.

A lot of the design ideas I had for the Peace and Unity I got from HighComedy's Kursk Dreadnought. Some of my own little touches were put in, but a lot of my favourite things about it were very largely inspired by HighComedy.

Your Gungnir has bad parenting. I destroyed that double-beam piece that was directly behind the Megabeamer.

So does the Longinus. I destroyed the piece right between the 2 Railguns.

The reason the rest of the explosion didn't kill those weirdly parented pieces was because I was using a ship I call "Aera Clearer" which has 24 Uber Point Beamers on it. I made it a while ago, so I can clean up the screen if there's lots of junk.

The parenting on both the Longinus and the Gungnir is just fine. That central pillar is the whole support of both halves of the ship. If it gets blown up, then the ship will either be severely injured or dead. This was intentional.
EDIT: Ack, I misread your post and didn't look at the pictures. Whoops, I need to fix those bits... heh.

Ah, Peace and Unity. How fuzzy and heartwarming. Euphemistic names never fail to be good. Unless your ship is called the SS Titanic, of course
