The're not all that bad.
The shapes are nice, but they seem to border into weaponspam. Try cutting down on the number of weapons.
BTW the serra has a mirroring error on the back.

Okay first few tries, there's at least some shape coherency in the ships. You might want to consider depthing the topmost sprites on the Serra underneath the arm sprites. There's also overlap on the rear sprites. The Enterprize is probably the best to continue work off of, especially with the arms. Otherwise, keep building and don't be afraid to try a little bigger .

I'l try to remove the weapon spam on the enterpize too
(the reason I am suffering from weapon spam.I love using direct control and I want my ship to be able to kill anything. so I try to put 1 or 2 of each type of weapon on)

If you like to make some both look beauty and playable ships, you must ask me!XD

The side sections of the ship look strong. I suggest you can add some heavy weapons on them. Or it is also a good choice to let this ship to become a side attack style.
