erm, does this show enough depth, or must there be more colour tones involved?

... What you're currently doing is not depthing. Depthing works by noting the colour of a section, and then noting the sections around it, and then either making those sections lighter or darker in relation to their postion on the ship, to give it a more realistic feel
And if we ignore the subject of depthing, that ship is still no good, the section work is a bit sloppy, the actual colours are rather badly implemented, and there is a hole in he middle of the ship, with the core showing

How could you not have enough time to add weapons, it's not like you promissed us the ship.
A few words of advice:
Remember to set the Alpha of modules to 0, you know where they are anyway. Then all the stuff Imaillusion said. And your depthing is a bit ovr the top I'm afraid, too much contrast between light and dark.
