Hi everyone this is my first ship. I'm guessing i'll get alot of criticism, and obviously hope it helps me make it better. Please comment and criticise :) Thanks! (finally my lame introduction is over...)

EDIT: Forgot to introduce the ship...

EDIT 2: Updated all the ships. Some of your comments might not make sense now since i messed up the order in which i posted the pictures in.

First off, welcome to the forums! Secondly, you can take pictures with the Shipmaker and Battleships Forever by pressing F9. Also, see the yellow-ish boxes around the sections? Disable it by going to Options, keep clicking on Colors until you reach Glow. Then slide all the bars to the left. Have fun with the game.

Ok thanks. One more question, how do you get weapons to appear under a section instead of on top?

Parent them to a section underneath the covering section and press 'W'.

1. It's Grey, add some color of some sort. How is up to you but it'll be subject to criticism as well once done.

2. It's small, boring, and common. Give it nacelles or something, make it longer, more engines maybe, take your pick.

Ok, i made the second ship (the one thats not the carrier) a bit longer and i put one more engine onto it. I'm also having some trouble with the doodads for my light carrier. I tried to put those flashy lights on the "runway" (part that juts out from the ship), but it doesn't show when i open it in sandbox mode...

Not a smattering of jumbled sprites, so that's a plus. The ship is looks over simplistic with the few large sprites used, try layering a few of them?

Tip: Taking a screenshot in Shipmaker itself saves time and reduces any distortion in the picture or from rotated interpolation.

Well, i tried to do a bit more layering, and created a bridge (of sorts), provided if you can spot it lol...

yeah, i really didnt have any idea how a bridge might look like lol.

Edit: I've tried to put some colour into my carrier. I know it looks really bad, but i just chose this darkish green/blue colour since the rest of the ship was dark and grayish. Any criticism or comments?

me neither tend to use big block sections to make them or make them really light to get them to stand out from the rest of the ship but personally in a realistic world (i know this is a spaceship game) ships wouldn't have a bridge but Im a hopeless romantic and love the idea of massive windows to view space at the pinnacle of your ship but hey that's just me.
