The curvy alien fleet (downloads on first page)

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

The battlecruiser looks too much like TSA urukhai designs.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I took into account the issues and hopefully this addresses them without introducing too many new bugs- er, design problems. Now you know what to say in the off-chance that someone asks you how using the shipmaker is like software design.

That is awesome It flows well, until the rear wings, im not sure about them, they fit with the style, but not the flow so much. If you can fix that, maybe having them flow upwards and back following the curve set out from the middle stub's of wings, then the flow will be perfect
Done.
1: This area seems overly flat due to only a few sections being used.
2: The "_|" piece on the right seems way out of place.
3: The overlap doesn't look very good, and it's quite thin like the area in 1.
4: The TSA sprite there stands out alot more than the back sprites do. I nearly missed it the first time looking at it.
5: The holes. Dark holes.
6: Odd TSA sprite jutting out.
1. Didn't change but changed everything around that area to make it stand out less.
2. Layering error. Fixed.
3. Replaced with new tail.
4. Covered it up somewhat.
5. Filled in.
6. New wing sections.

Cool, those wings are epic.
But now the reactor and the rear "tendrils" look too thin, the reactor is thin all round, but the tendrils are only tin at the base where they join onto the ship, an extra section there will fix that one. But the flow is definitely back. Great changes.

I... I don't even...

I'm not going to say it's perfect. Nothing is perfect. And in many ways it looks less like a ship and more like a pretty shape. But it's still beautiful. Goddamn.

Only a suggestion, but maybe instead of having all those pointy bits at the front, have one long pointy bit and keep the pointy bits that are connected to the front wings. Then angle the back wings a bit more, it'll give the ship a more stream-lined feel. And then put some glows in between the gaps of the back wings.

You don't have to do all of that, the ship is pretty much perfect as it is though

I'm not even exaggerating. That is one of the best, if not the best, curvy alien ship on this forum.

The color choice is great, the ships wings look great, and the flow is just phenomenal. I wish more people could make alien ships as good as you.
It's not my fault I can't take your post seriously.

Trying to arm the battlecruiser, but "force fire on weapon fire" trigger only works the first time, and weapon link children don't face the same direction as their link parent :(

Do advanced functions not work if the ship is too large? I know the things listed above work on other ships, as everyone who's made a successful turret can attest.

Force Fire AND weapon fire triggers are inconsistent, at best.

You're going to have to find a way to get whatever it is you got planned to be done without those two trigs.

Yeah I noticed, but even WEAPON LINK is not fully functional and thats the clincher. I've made turrets before and they work fine, but not now.

BTW, the force fire and weapon fire triggers work on your Anemone ship, is there anything special that's not in the documentation?

That might happen, yes. Although, to be precise, it has nothing to do with ship size - rather the size of .shp .

If you want to be sure, place a few more weapons/sections and see if things are getting worse. If they do, that means youve broken the limit and the .shp is getting 'trimmed'.

Well, linked weapons for whatever reason don't face their parent's direction on the battlecruiser, so I took advantage of that bug to avoid the use of force fire triggers. Weird, but it works.
And in many ways it looks less like a ship and more like a pretty shape.
Eat those words. lol j/k

Unfortunately the teslas have a longer range and don't stop at the glowing circles when the lasers have a target. Now why is that?

EDIT: Replaced teslas with beamers, SAME THING . :x

by chance are the linked weapons set to 0 turn? If so for some reason they keep their direction regardless of the ships facing. I really like the arcing lightening to the three beams.

That is sheer awesome. The teslas are an epic touch to the lasers. You've brought TSA's sprites to a whole new level.
