Okay I've been kind of busy lately so yeah.

By the way does anyone of you have a really big pic of a planet?
Somewhere around 1000-5000?
Preferably with a completely black background?

Also some tinkering I've been doing with some weapons.
Not even close to done but still.
I'm open to suggestions.

The launch stage of my newest unfinished toy.

When it's done, it'll be capable of wiping out anything above the size of a corvette.
Which might be capable of avoiding it.

Nobody wikes me.

Okay I think it's time for a necro.
Not exactly thrilled over this one's behind.

Suggestions?

I rather like this one.
Though I'm having some issues with the various doodads scattered across the hull.
Lights in the front are Def1.

Again.
Again.

Oooh I also redid the lancer from the front page.

1st Design: Probably the reason why you're not thrilled about the backside is because the back is detailed and curvy while the front is straight and not-as-detailed. I think the back is quite promising, so I suggest taking two routes: Change the front to suit the back or visa versa.

Design in 2nd/3rd: Well made vessel there.. You mentioned you had issues with doodads. Would these doodads be located on moving sections? If so then I should tell you that doodads on move/rot/turret sections will flip in both the Y position and Y scale.

Design in 4th/5th: I think the front end that consists of two triangular sections can use some more work.

Well since I'm unable to really find a good way to place heavier weaponry other than making the "Fun" parts of the ship flat to accommodate turrets I kind of can't think of an alternative to the flat front curvy behind thing...Wait...that just sounds wrong.
My issue is more that the ship's rear already fell out as a clusterfuck once and to actually complete the ship I had to chop off the wings that were supposed to come where the outer engines now are.

Hmm that could be it. Thanks. Would that also happen to cause doodads to get depthed under their parent section?
Okay after tinkering with the ship for a bit, I discovered that in two cases, the doodads were mirrored relative to their parent section while in the third, they got mirrored across the ship.

The visual design is now probably complete. Further balancing might pop up later.

And on it's first try the shells went straight through a Leviathan, wiping out whatever sections there were on the exit.
I reduced the speed and punch a tad since then but might to it a bit more.

True. To be honest the design is mostly the basic shape at the moment, before it's actually finished, I'll have to add all the various details and lights. Maybe even some more curves to the front.
Though now that I finished the middle ship, I'll probably concentrate on this design.
Okay, couldn't sleep so I was toying with these two. Added plenty of shiny, (probably too much) after redoing the nose.
Except for some bits around the wings, the lights are the same on both.

The first ship... simply doesn't look completed. There's no shape or features on it that make me think its a ship. The second ship is kinda better, but really, slapping a section on each side and leaving it at that is kinda boring, no offence

On the upside, the actual style of those ships look really clean, functional, etc. Basically you need to build on them more, while maintaining that style

Okay that battleship's getting nowhere.
But here's a little something I made to calm the fuck down a few days ago.
The animation's a bit choppy. But it's 6:24 and I won't be able to sleep for another 14 hours so yeah.
And it's only there so you get the idea.

that's nice subtle use of doodads you've got there. perhaps at the front adding a series of white blinkers that go in turn?

Like this?

I might stuff some more (or all of the existing ones) into the groove down the middle.

I also shinnied up two more ships while I was bored.
Vector, escort carrier, most of the ship is hidden under tonnes of armoured plating so don't expect much in the way of doodads.
Image

*Name pending*, modified Mercury light freighter using nonstandard technology, heavy use of green, turret and point beam hide additional doodads.

i was thinking more of the doodads in line with the original one down that centre bit so they flash like a wave pattern like those on the side of the mercury

the escort carrier's a bit meh, could do with some more depthing to make the flat areas more interesting
