C&C needed

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

I look at it and like the shape, and see potential for it, but I really dislike the section choice in spots. There are some layering errors as well. I'd probably continue refining this, but add more details like engines and stuff.

There is indeed potential in that shape. You could work on color depthing (lighter shade = peices closer to the top, darker shade = farther from the top) and using smaller sections to define the shape.

I'll just spell it out for him then.

White = top of the ship
light grey = underneath top of the ship
med grey = around the middle of the ship if viewed from the top
dark grey = farther from the top
really dark grey/black = farthest from the top, oftentimes the sections that are on the outside of the ship.

If you want to use colors, remember that strong colors never work, so a half-color-half-greyscale approach works best, following the color depthing up above.

true white is not used often tough...

I do. Some SW-style sections, even when colored white, are naturally greyish.

All of my latter ships use color depthing, if you want some examples. I set my palette at gray and increase the Lum by 25 per palette.
