Clairvoyance and Malice

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Post by Doogie12 »

i'm new to the forums but i think i got the hang of shipmaking down, sure they could use some work (and i am too lazy to put them on photobucket) so here is the link to Clairvoyance,

and Malice,

i used bits of almost all custom sprites i could find, but most come from Blackhart and the basic ones by Kaelis, i also used HorseMonster's thruster sprite

then nobody will rate your ships...
I doubt there will be many people that will dl a ship they know nothing about...
I don't know about you; But I generally don't store games in RAM.

Clairvoyance has quite an intresting design around the core area. Both suffer from clutter, however.

Have you considered changing to SWA style?

sadly i don't have anything to open ANYTHING Kaelis puts for download (explaining why i used a bubble shield for clairvoyance) and this computer is massively unprotected so it will be a while before i go SW, btw, take into consideration that i'm a noob

Cnet is very safe. I got most of my software from there. The program to open it is called WinRar/7zip. This lets you extract the files.

And hardly anyone does normal sprites, SWA is where it's at.

And I was a choob too :P . Yet everyone must keep trying their best.

If not done correctly, yeah. Doesn't really matter what style of the sprite, you can always make cluttered.

Okay,

The first one is still sorta cluttered. Its dull and uniform throughout, looking like just a couple of sections slapped about. In other words, it looks like something thrown together in a couple minutes.

The second one looks much better. You have the "eyecatcher" with the fusion core, and my gosh, that looks sweet. You've also managed a bit with depth coloring, which is incredible for a "noob" as you say you are. SWA has something with hiding noobs well. But, then again, the second one, good job. You should develop your ships further based on this.
If admirals hate and trash your ships,
If you can't get it right;
Then off you go, but don't call quits;
Just go make custom sprites.
