Boredom, it does things to me

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Boredom, it does things to me

Post by Dreamyr »

So recently I've noticed that despite TSA finally releasing his sprites I'm not seeing many ships here made in with them. Combine that with a distinct lack of anything else to do, as I can't seem to get a job, over the past few weeks I've picked up Battleships Forever again and made some stuff.

Don't expect anything too spectacular though, I'm no genius or anything who spends hours making his own sprites and fancy glowy sections and stuff. Most complicated stuff you'll see is a few doodads, which will be stills seeing as I can't even make a decent gif.

Still, less talk more pictures I hear you saying so going from largest to smallest:

I like the Rakshasa the most, but all of them are pretty good.

Well, they're different, that's for sure. That is probably the highest concentration of circles I've ever seen on any ship here.

The coloring on most of the ships don't really do it for me. It just looks like you colored certain sections because of where you placed them, and it doesn't look good.

However, the section placement is decent, and overall it's a good fleet.
It's not my fault I can't take your post seriously.

yea, I'm not really satisfied with the placement of the colored sections myself on the fighters and in places on some of the larger ships but I wasn't really seeing where to put them on some of them. The Schneide I think came out the best when it comes to coloring with the Sternfalken coming in second. the Sturmfalken I agree has too many circles but well, that's just how it came out I guess. :P

I like them, they have a very streamlined appearance.

The first, third and 4th are great. The nice curves are awesome. However, the first one needs to be colored by depth slightly better. That's really the only criticism I have for them. The others don't interest me all that much though.

I like them, the 2nd one is rather cool.
The colors go well together. And the sections are well used.

These make circles look good, though I think the Schneide and Sternfalken do it best. The Sternfalken could use shading, just for the higher pieces since its obvious it would be very complex in 3d.

The Hades is my favorite of the smaller ones.

Updated version of the Sternfalken, messed with the colors a bit. I'm a bit leery of adding a fourth color/shade to the mix though. That would make the complexity skyrocket and it's not something I'm sure I can do and make look good.
