~Archalieus Shipyards~ - Rusty

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

That area in the mid-back area looks like a hatch of some sort. I keep having this vision of a bunch of small ships being launched out of it.
It was turned back into a WIP at that stage, and I was conveniently inundated with schoolwork (Note: Rotational Inertia burns).

This is the current WIP I have up. Sorry for the delay!

More leaning to drone carrier at this point.

i thought about leaning the things to the other side to make thrusters but now they go really nice with the big pillars... its like they could be linked by a beam thingy (like the racers in star wars with the lazers to link the thrusthers to the cockpit)

you large weapon ships remind me of the ships I used to make a long time ago.

Of course mine weren't as shiny

I like your ships alot, although the glow seems a bit excessive on some of them. On most its awesome but on some it looks like they're on fire.

More or less Danny's building styles rubbing off on me  .

Thanks! I've been busy with some other things during spring break and prior to it also, notably my personal game. I'll probably get back to building in a few days.

Some minor works I hashed together for enemies.

I like the new colour scheme, your ships have a more refined feel

For the second ship, you could probaly shade the side sections a bit more, and tone down the white glow at the front a bit

Code: Select all

[Helmsman]: Sir! There's a large unidentified battleship closing in on our position! It refuses to receive our hailing calls and has taken out our Garlah escorts with minimal damage!
[Captain]: The Morello can hold it's own. All crew, to battlestations!

Some cool stuff man. I love the functional feel to them. It feels very monotone in terms of colors though.

You feel ashamed!? I tend to be only able to feel superior to anyone here when a troll posts fifty guns on a core who gets shot up by a nasty pasty on the forum who in turn gets shot up by a mod! Anyway the ships! I have to say you have a great knack for section work and extending lines in this industrial style. And with this new colour scheme, they somehow also look clean, just popped out of the casting mould and polished up and sent to battle. The only thing that bugs me is on the arms of the larger ship the end section being bent outwards feels strange, however it'd be bland just to have it parallel with the rest of the arm so no biggy. The teaser is very enticing too, the really big ship looks very intimidating. Good work.

Edit: Whoops, didn't recognise that ship from an earlier post, the darker paint scheme and red bits threw me off  .

Thanks!

I was hoping that the white accenting/glows would stand out a bit more, but it ended up more as a white blur. Probably a few more ships before swapping color schemes. Perhaps a camo palette.

The arm was bothering me also while I worked on it, the original arm shape was a cross. Then it was a small "x" mounted on the cross, then removed...
As you can tell, i'm not very adept with extensions larger than fuel rods and antennae. I really like the imagery you gave there, of the ships being "hot off the press", thanks!

Here's the DL for the ships so far. They are reasonably balanced to the original Arcadia pack, but slightly beefier, and more towards rapid-fire. No fancy cannons yet.

Grab it here because the "Upload Attachment" is iffy :x .

The Vertil has a similar "shock ball" seen on WnW's battleships. The Cimera's equivalent is the Gaffin Frigate. The Venare can stare down a Garlah cruiser with moderate damage, but falls to two. The Myrsidon is an intermediate between the Osphor and the Morello. The Schineid also features a small deflector system ( :o !).

I really like the Schneid. It fits my idea of what a warship should look like. Again, excellent work with the section usage.

I like the look of these ships, they have this robust feel to them, and they have a good combination of anaesthetics, functionality, and refinement about them which I like
