First one's great if you chop off the rearmost engines. The other doesn't hold any great interest.

Hmmm so you didn't like the second one... well it was inspired on one of the first ships that I made with the SM.

Ok, so onto the 1st one...

eh! wait a minute, silly me, this is just a game! is going to move no matter what... :D (just joking).



Now seriously, I made something that someone can find interesting and fun.

Here it is (and keep reading so I can explain):

I made few minor changes to define the lines better.

The idea is this; the unknown race that built this ship have some interesting technology, they are able to stay in a state where they are in real space and in hyperspace, both at the same time. So the ship have a constantly open hyperspace gate. Inside the vortex the ship can not be harm (the swirl section has a health of 9999999). So then how can you destroy it? For this race to be able to be and not to be at the same time they have to extend two probe like devices, one in real space and the other hyperspace...

You can not see the other one because... hmmm.. well it is at the other side. So to be able to destroy the ship you have to close the vortex and to do that you have to destroy the probe that if you notice, is energy shielded and the most critical section is aegis shielded. If you are able to destroy that aegis shielded section the vortex section is going to be destroyed because it is "childed" to the probe. The vortex is open to all ships so other way to destroy it is to move close to it and go kamikaze. Be careful though, you can not get close to the ship, over the vortex section, just to use your weapons because there is a megabeam alpha 0 with 999999 of damage. The idea is that the vortex is disrupted for other ships (check the fraxy lightning volts sections), any section of your ship inside the vortex is going to be eviscerated. Now demeters, railguns and similar weapons can go over that, so to stop that there is an alpha zeroed point beamer with a clip of 10000 child to the vortex section. So there is no other way but to get behind and destroy the probe and to do that you need a decent group of fast ships in flanking mode or use a big ship and go kamikaze. I tried with the Argurion and the Vellator and it works. But of course you will lost your big precious flag ship.

Nice idea, if not too overly complex.

The center gun is out of the 'hyperspace bubble', but on a whole it reminds me of the crash bandicoot mask...

I was about to scream flimsy!!!, and then I read your explanation. After that, I applaud your novelty. Any chance you'll post a download so we can play with this ship ourselves?

Also, the new version, independent of the pod and vortex (mainly just commenting on the engines here) is quite an improvement. The new engines fit the ship much better, though I say they would benefit from a glow, since you removed the others.

This is certainly interesting! two things:
1) could you connect the probe to a weapon driver in such a way that when the weapon, non firing obviously, aims towards an incoming ship, the probe rotates to the other side of the rift? Would work best with a pd weapon probably.
2) Could you turn the ship additive so weapons went right through them? Can triggers be used to switch between additive and regular once the probe is destroyed? Would make it more realistic for the ship to have weapons fire pass right through it, plus then you wouldn't need the point beamer.
Definitly a unique design that i can't wait to see what you do with it!

Yep that's because the person that made the section left a hole at the center. You know, MagusZero told me that my other ship, the Certis Skolex, reminds him of a program called Project Geeker and now you tell me that this one reminds you a cartoonish video game. Maybe my designs reflect my funny persona! :D

Now keep in mind that what you are getting here is the concept. Since there is no ship creation standard, you can have a ship that can overwhelm the vortex even with the 999999 HP. So it may be possible that you have to tweak the values to get a balanced game experience with your ships. Also I found other weapons that doesn't care about the vortex like the EMP torpedo, the Frosch Gun, the tachyon and any other similar weapon. A solution could be increasing the size of the vortex section but then it will look silly. Now that you can download the ship can you show me what you are saying about the glow? Have fun!

Raul Wow! wait a minute MagusZero Help!!!! :shock:

1) I can connect the probe to a driver (did that with the Certis Skolex), but then it will make things more difficult. Is that your idea?

2) Raul are you telling me by asking a question or Are you really asking because you want to know if it can be made? I check what you said and the section can still be hit. The vortex section is actually in additive mode and I know what you are talking about because I think EriErin did something similar with his Orbital Sword ship. But as how he did it I have no idea. Maybe MagusZero knows how to do it. I agree with you completely about bullets passing trough, actually that was what I have in mind in the beginning. If it can be done you can count on it.

I was trying to make something wider and end up with this. I don't know maybe I can use it as a carrier. I want to develop the shape further but run out of ideas also how should I arm it? including weapon placement. Any suggestions?

Dude thats freaking awsome. To me it has a very nice flow of parts, christ now your making me want to make a biggin like that. Maybe you could put the bits that spawn ships and stuff on those two wing things and then make a few turrets including one big one on the main body.

I like this ship as well The detail doesn't seem patricularly consistant, but it doesn't quite look bad. The only thing I can imagine happening with this thing is have the side things turn so the flat part is pointing backward, and act as massive engines. Actually, the design looks like it has quite a few parts that look like they could move nicely; seems like a massive carrier or warship, the sort the thinking machines from the butlerian jihad might use. Massive thrusters for near lightspeed, because the crew, being non-human, can survive that. And possibly in this mode, it would have superior defensive/offensive capabillities. This is a ship I can come up with all SORTS of uses for.

Thank for your comments. Did something very simple with few triggers, the ship opens and close the bow to reveal a big energy gun.

Yes, though I quite dislike all the books by his son since they're written as steriotypical scifi.

The new front doesn't quite look right. It's close, and a good idea, but theres something about it that I can't put my finger on which I dislike about it. Perhaps it's how purple it is... Not sure.
