Chainship project 2: Ship harder

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

I think those things that just got sliced off did more for the aesthetic value of the ship than the pincer arms. :x

I'm inclined to agree. Pincer arms look vry vulnerable.

i would have to say this ship has so far turned out to be a fail.

adding arms to a ship that early on just created the problem of what do i do other than add more arms and thats whats happened more arms have been added.

I really don't like the arms for the same reason - how does one expand on that?

It can still be expanded on, and I'm sure it can still be saved once it gets to some of the vets. That said, perhaps next time some sort of inspirational art or sketch of the shape, or at least an upfront decision of style would help guide the process. If alien insect style was what everyone wanted, those first few people would have known to just add to the body and leave the arms and outer details for the appropriate people.

Now what i think would be interesting is to have a 9x grid with each person assigned to one square, each one working only in that square then passing it on. Could end up with a nifty asymmetrical ship so long as section use and style were regulated. Plus no one could add too much or get left with nothing to contribute. Oh well, next time.

That's exactly what I stated before we started. Oh well :?

Swamp Fox is having some IRL issues and wants a bit of an extension. Unless anyone has any serious objections, I'm going to give him one because I'm a sympathetic fellow. He's got another three days.

I'm fine with it. This works out quite nicely for me, actually, because I'm not sure if I'll be able to get on my computer for the next day or two.

What's going on now? More delays? Or has this project begun to be forgotten?

No, SF has actually finished and shown me what he's done. If he doesn't have time to post it himself, I'll do it.

Hey, according to the IRC channel topic it's my turn, but I haven't gotten any blueprints to work from. My time isn't ticking away while I'm unable to do anything, is it?
