trying a new style(s)

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

trying a new style(s)

Post by omega »

I decided to try something not using generic sections. I'm also unsatisfied with the back of this ship. All C&C wanted.

Just replace the engine cover and let the glow flow.
So instead of a triangle, you get an A

I agree with Unsung.
Does look really cool though, The shape is still the standard triangular shape that almost everyone uses for spaceships, but at least its not a penisbrick.
The glows are neat, and make the side sections look like fixed lasers, like on an X-Wing.
Overall a good ship, that only needs a little work to the rear. Good job.

Each ship is different in style, however all have spiffy section use and placement. More specifically:

First, Very good sections and use of them, the pieces at the rear make the craft appear to have some sort of 'headpiece' or whatever you would call it on a ship. I'm half expecting the glowing parts to harbour laser beamers.

The second is better and for the same reasons, all those circle sections look like they would be great for turret emplacements. I think the general shape is very nice, keep at it.

The last reminds me of some supply/cargo vessal, but stripped of armour, because everything that would've been under such protection looks exposed. Not sure what else to say.

C'mon guys. Constructive Criticism is needed.

I also would like to know if I should change the color scheme of the second ship.

I think they look great. The colour scheme used in the 2nd and 4th ship really works well with the shapes you've chosen.

They're good. I don't like the royal blue segment on either side of the most recent revision. Other than that, I don't have much to say. They're notably above average, but not at the holy ship level. That's probably why you're not getting much feedback.

Very well done, the great usage of sections, colours, and glows give it a very clean and pleasing design. I can also say the same for your other ships as well.
