Sran Industries (Updated 11/13/07!)

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Sran Industries (Updated 11/13/07!)

Post by Sran »

Edit: I was looking around this board and was inspired by Aralonia's Prinz Eugen.

The mighty Lorn Dreadnaught strikes terror in the heart of the enemies of the Lorn Empire. Powerful, heavily shielded and armored, the Lorn Dreadnaught is an unstoppable juggernaught.

I couldn't come up with a good name though, so I picked something that sounded alright.

Oh and I gave it shields of some sort, though I'm not sure they look or work too well.

Oh and does anyone know how I can load the ship blueprints up?
They are 238k so I can't use the uploader.

I use filefront.

But you don't need to give people the blueprints for them to use the ship ingame.

Yea I know.

Haha, except I don't know how to make zip files. I missed that day in computer class.

Well I guess I'll use filefront.

Yea what do you think? It works pretty well,, and the shields can be pierced by another Dreadnaught with concentrated fire. I just don't like the lines that are there.

download winRAR, right-click on desktop, select "make new winRAR zip folder".

I stopped using winrar when I found an alternative. I use IZArc now. It opens the same files that winrar can and doesn't have those silly popups because its completely free.

I prefer 7zip, myself. It can open more archives than I care to name, and although it can't compress to RAR, I hardly ever use the RAR format anyway.

Well I've figured it out.
Here's some more of my ships.

They're all in the same universe, and inspired by real ships.

Manticore Class SD

Image

The largest class of ship built by the Federation, the Manticore class superdreadnaughts are exremely powerful. Armed with massive weapons, the Manticore SDs deliver firepower that can shatter moons.

Iowa Class BB

Image

The Mighty Iowa class Battleship provides the major heavy component of the fleet. Armed with a broadside of nine 16 inch Railguns, and numerous other weapons, the Iowa is an awesome fighting machine.

Nike Class BC

Image

Named after the goddess of victory, the Nike class battlecruisers are fast and powerful. Armed with a primary broadside of 6 12 inch railguns, the Nike defeats anything that catches it and can outrun anything that can destroy it.

Nimitz Class CV

Image

The fleet carrier built upon the hull of the Iowa class battleships, the Nimitz Class provides combat drones for offense, and defense. The Nimitz carriers are vulnerable to direct attacks.

Ticonderoga CLG

Image

The Ticonderoga class missile cruiser was designed to fulfill the role of long range fleet fire support. Armed with a variety of long range missiles, the Ticonderoga is not meant for knife fights.

Arleigh Burke DD

Image

The Arleigh Burke Class destroyer is the workhorse of the Fleet. Used from anti-piracy to convoys to fleet engagements, the Burke is a versitile ship with plenty of power.

Aegis Destroyer DD

Image

The Aegis Destroyer class ships are built upon the hull of the Arleigh Burke. Designed to provide fleet wide point defence, the Aegis destroyer is lightly armed offensively, but heavily armed defensively.

Perry FG

Image

The Oliver Hazard Perry Class Frigate is the smallest class ship fielded by the fleet. Used primarily in an anti-piracy role, the Perry also provides escorts for larger ships.

I couldn't resist trying the Caretaker Missile on something a little more challenging than a stock battleship, but not huge and ridiculous like some of my own contraptions, so the Manticore drew the short straw!
