I think I got the "greebling" down pretty good, but the ship actually kinda sucks. I found it difficult to put together well, so be sure to make good use of the crapload of aegis deflectors you got :p

I'm thinking I'll use the deflectors, the normal ones that automatically activate, and NanoMatrixes. The use of the scatter beams is really smart, I didn't realize it but they're reminiscent of Borg weapons.

- modified the greebling a bit, most people probably won't even notice
- despite what the screenshot might suggest firepower has actually been substantially increased; scatter beams now stacked on top of each other for more realistic fire pattern
- photon torpedoes...er, plasma launchers added
- nanomatrixes added and standard deflectors replace aegis deflectors
- projection shield added

Boba Fetuccini, I've been trying to find the thread where you asked someone to check your Voyager because they're a Trek fan. Well, I'm a Trek fan too and checked it out. It has the right look but I didn't like the weapons or settings that much, so I made some changes. It's much closer to the actual ship and just feels better, check it out.

I'm glad you like it, although, I made a major mistake, I shouldn't have added the point defense beams. I was thinking that phasers would be just fine as PD but then I realized that if I'm using blasters as torpedoes, then the PD will shoot them down, which doesn't fit the show at all. So, what I've just done is uploaded another version, by a different name, that has no PD. It is also faster turning, has higher acceleration, I made the nacelles smaller, and I honed the weapon arcs further, I hope they're actually better.

I've been wanting to make an Enterprise-D, the tools just haven't been there until recently. The Galaxy Class is my favorite. Right now I'm building the Pegasus from nBSG and a Borg cube. But I'll see if I can think about a Galaxy too.

LOL, noob, poke. In all seriousness, are you sure you're opening .shp files and not the other kind? You should copy and paste the specific error text so th15 knows exactly what the error is.
