Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!
Getting into shipmaking a lot lately, so rather than spam threads, I'll put everything here.
This most recent is called Carapace. The general design was based on the idea of a spacefaring creature being dead/dying and having its body hollowed out, metal/technology added where necessary to make it function, and used as the hull of a ship. Green is body, grey is metal, blue is meant to be a bridge between the organic and inorganic components.
It isn't armed yet, I wanted preliminary opinions on the general shape, theme, and color scheme.
Looks good, like your style(why do I recognice that backstory?)
The colours are good although the blueish is just not right, experiment with it.
Nice ships for a newb though.

I'm pretty damn sure that Isu meant nothing more than to reiterate the comment, which I will reiterate again for posterity: The blue looks fine. And though there are some odd curves, the ship in general is shaping up to look fine-- for one thing, it doesn't look like a small, furry critter that got hit by a truck.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I'll fuck you with a rake.
It does feel that something's missing near the centre-grey, large pieces at the flanks... Other than that, lovely ship, especially for a nexb. Good job, sir!
Maarten: i don't like your blue.
Melv: The blue is fine.
Maarten: NO! IT SUCKZORZ!
Isu: NO LOL ITS TOTALLY HAXXORZ AWESOME
Maarten:AHHHH REDUNDANCY OVERLOAD
EriErin:Martin=wombat ship
OWNED.
On mules we find two legs behind
and two we find before.
We stand behind before we find
what those behind be for.
This one is called Yujata. It's meant to be organic, with the red sections representing "veins" of some sort. It's a bit rough, but let me know what you think.

-snip-
Now tell me what don't you get about metal not being organic!
Although the sections look stretched and that's a bad thing.
