Backstory:
After discovering species after species on far planets. (insert planet name, first person with good name wins.)'s scientists found a kind of animal or rather organism that can be grown in lots of differant shapes even weapons were possible. Military purposes were found, and Biomechanical titans born. It didn't take long to find a way to make them survive without oxigen, highly verstile space "ships"were born.

Units;
Battleships

ImageThe "catapult turtle" (no name know yet by intelligence offices)
Armed with what appears to be this massive alien artillery piece is a force to be recond with. Shooting massive Electromagnetic rounds from it's spine(Particle cannon with differant sprite.) and smaller ones from the "guns" on it's legs.
It is also armed with some small drones that attack enemies that get to close, And a shield works as primary defence.
Weapons:
Massive EM cannon 1x
Normal EM guns 8x

special features:
Normal shield
PD guns 4x
Distraction drone launchers 2x 5 drones per shot.

First version with tail.

Fighters

Image
The dragonfly bomber is a brutal weapon, packing heavy acid bomb launchers it flies in groups and attacks vunerable areas. Named dragonfly for the shape and incredible speed it can obtain in space.
Weapons:
Bioacid launcher 2x

Hope you like them.
Inspiration came from Tyranids(40k, duh...) and Yu-Gi-Oh(friend plays.)

Tail uses drivers to make it dangle but I cna't get it to work so no weapon spam just driver with shooting disabled.
Legs are there on purpose, they have the only PD and are supposed to be some sort of shield generators.
Think I am gonna scrap the tail anyway. Does anybody know a way to make stuff look like it charges to show that a weapon is loaded, so that I have blue lighted parts when the gun is ready and just ordenary grey when recharging?

Just saw mirroring error on the partical guns, don't mind them.

Ah...it's a turtle
Not awesome at all, the styles of the section choices clash, seriously.
The colors are meh, not noticeable.
As for the internal work, its cluttered, what the hell, the internals are sticking?

Ignore madcommander.

Problems:
-Ugly shape
-not-too-good/too-bad concept.
-ugly ship
-Detail contrast
-Looks extremely cluttery
-fugly ass tail
-red turtle
-looks more like an orbital station that was designed by someone who forgot to take their pills this morning.
-fugly colors(washed out pink + gray + white = not looking too good.)

It reminds me of an animal skin being tanned.

Looks like a big flying squirrel to me.
Anyway, the sides look odd to me. It probably has to do with the large sections being used to fill in the shape.

Now I see squirrel.

As for the tail I'm not sure how you have done yours, but I've found that manipulating the arc ranges in increments can result in desirable behavior. Where at the base you have a significantly low arc range and at the tip you have a higher arc range.I've also found a turning speed of 0.50 works well for all segments.

That look nothing like something a 'nid would use. If it was me doing this, i would have made it have more spines and an organic look. This looks not that organic, or at least in proportions. Just my opinion though. So take it how you will.

Thank you,
And it was based on the 'nid spore launcher but I'll will ad some spikes and stuff and make more alien sections.
I just liked the half organic half machine style.
And the big section were supposed to be some sort of launch pads, but that didn't work so the dementers took that job. But the pieces were left in the same place.
Tail will be scrapped, new pics up this afternoon, Am doing this from school so....

Come to think of it, it would look awesome as a Tyranid landing ship. The four corners with the pointbeams make ready-made landing pads!

UPDATE!!!!!!!
Backstory, new ship and improvemments on old one added.
Thx for the good comments and hope the new backstory kills all rumors of not being tyranids. THEY AREN'T and never were!

BTW should I enter these as ships for the alien faction in the metagame?

NO.
Arcalane, in the READ THIS NOW thread, wrote:As a reminder I am not taking submissions for alien ship designs right now, so stop asking.
